FULL MOON ARIES - OCTOBER 13, 2019

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on October 11, 2019 at 9:05 AM Comments comments (0)

We will enjoy the energies of the Full Moon in Aries on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 5:10 p.m. EDT.

The energies of a Full Moon always speak of a culmination point, a point when all the work has been completed and now it is time to harvest. What we sowed, what fertilizer we used to grow our plants to completion, how we have nurtured and tended our crop of life will be reflective in what we now harvest. This period began under the influence of our New Moon when it was in the sign of Aries some six months ago (April, 2019).

Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is a fire sign and is a cardinal quality. Aries is self-promoting and is a self-starter. With the Moon being in the sign of Aries, the project started might have been self-reflective or something that we needed to initiate for ourselves. In many cases, this will be something quite personal in its nature. We may have done most of the work to get to where we are now, without the help of others, although there could be exceptions with this.

Aries energies like to initiate projects and under this influence we may be quite willing to begin anew if things are not quite right once into the project. Aries influence can push us to pick ourselves back up and start again or completely let things go if this is a requirement.

Preparation is the key here and we should not rush which is often a by-product with an Aries influence. Preparation is the key to success. If we did the work required and did not miss any steps along the way (truly did our best) then the potential for achieving success is highlighted.

This is a powerful placement, not only because Aries can be so overpowering and the energy associated with this sign is second to none, but we also have the most dominant and potent planet making a tight square to this placement. Pluto which is also at 20 degrees but in the sign of Capricorn is making an aspect.

Pluto transforms and regenerates whatever it touches and pushes things to its limit through perseverance and dominance. Pluto might begin as something subtle, but as its energies mature, it is anything but subtle. Its energies are powerful and can be intrusive. It is a dominating power that has a tendency of taking over.

The square between Pluto and the Moon and Sun suggests that there are likely challenging conditions attached to whatever we are trying to achieve. There may be obstruction to our plans, and we may have to go through a conversion in order to move ahead with our objectives. There may be power struggles attached to our objectives. Perhaps someone objects to the way we are advancing or perhaps there are ego disputes involved. We cannot ignore these energies so we will have to deal with them accordingly and push ahead or make changes as required.

Squares initiate activity because the stress or challenging conditions that are representative of the aspect between Pluto and this Full Moons placement has to be confronted. It cannot be ignored. We are likely going to have to do some alterations before we can move ahead, but anything worth fighting for is worth the extra effort. Sometimes it does not matter whether we win or not, it is all about the push to advance that really matters.

Do not give in and do not walk away. Begin anew if this is what is required. Make changes if this is what needs to take place. If and when everything is in order, move forward with confidence. Each and every one of us has the potential to succeed.

First and foremost, enjoy the fruits of your labour.

HEMISPHERES IN ASTROLOGY

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on October 9, 2019 at 8:55 AM Comments comments (0)

(EAST & WEST)

We continue our look at the hemispheres in Astrology. On October 7, 2019, we focused on the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Today we will focus on the Eastern and Western hemispheres.

The east (where the sun rises) consists of houses 10 through 3, centred around the Ascendant. The west consists of houses 4 through 9 centred around the DC.

Western Hemisphere

The Western Hemisphere houses (4 through 9) have to do with others and our relationships with them. This emphasis shows how we relate to others. If we find a concentration of planets in the Western Hemisphere, we have to ask “Are we giving away ourselves and spending all our time focused on the needs of others?” “Are we too focused on the needs of others?”

Those with this emphasis may lack self-confidence and can be reliant on others to help in life?

Some people with this emphasis are misused by others. They give away too much of themselves. These people can be dependent on others, and they are receptive to the needs of others.

An example of this emphasis could be four planets in retrograde in the eastern hemisphere and four planets between the 5th and 8th houses.

Eastern Hemisphere

The Eastern Hemisphere (houses 10 through 3) often depicts an individual who is self-contained, self-oriented, assertive and action oriented. The only thing that can slow this person down would be themselves. These individuals usually believe in themselves and feel that they can assert themselves in any way they wish.

Those with an Eastern Hemisphere emphasis can become overly protective.

In most cases these people truly feel as though they can succeed in life on their own. This does not mean that they will not ask for assistance or take on partnership but they are quite self-reliant and depend on their own judgement.

An example of the Eastern Hemisphere might be 2 planets in the 11th house, 2 planets in the 12th house and three planets in the 2nd house with one planet in retrograde in the 7th house.

Do you have a hemisphere emphasis in your natal chart?

HEMISPHERES IN ASTROLOGY

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on October 7, 2019 at 9:00 AM Comments comments (0)

(NORTH, SOUTH, EAST & WEST)

There are four hemispheres found in an Astrological natal chart.

Today we will focus on the northern and southern hemispheres. On October 9, 2019 we will focus on the eastern and western hemispheres.

The north (which is below the horizon) consists of houses 1 through 6, centred around the IC; the south or above the horizon consists of houses 7 through 12, centred around the MC.

Northern Hemisphere

The Northern Hemisphere is said to be very individualistic and incorporates the advancement of our personality or individuality. This area is very personal in nature. It is a private area and those with many planets in this hemisphere are often said to be somewhat of an introvert. The first house reflects our personal nature. The second house relates to individual security, etc.

It has also been noted that there is the potential for unfinished business related to the early home environment or family upbringing. An example of a concentration of planets in the northern hemisphere might be, two planets in the 2nd, three planets in the 4th house and one in the fifth.

It is also important to note that planets that are in retrograde at birth draw emphasis on the opposite hemisphere. So if, for example, the natal chart also had two planets in retrograde one in the 9th and one in the 10th this would influence the chart as though these three planets were placed in the northern hemisphere. This would suggest a strong emphasis in the northern hemisphere.

It has also been noted that the Northern Hemisphere is somehow attached or fixated on the past.

Southern Hemisphere

The Southern Hemisphere (7 through 12) suggests that the individual is more extroverted in nature and tends to be more social than the Northern Hemisphere individual. The occupation seems to be more important to these individual, while the Northern hemisphere individual tends to focus their attention on the home and family. These Southern Hemisphere individuals tend to have a broad interest in human behaviour and are interested in man’s plight. Their focus can be quite global.

It is also indicated that these individuals are often at the mercy of life’s events. They seem to be taken away having little control, due to life taking the leading role.

An example of a concentration of planets in the southern hemisphere might be a Stellium in the 10th house of four planets, and one planet in the 11th and also two retrograde planets in the fourth house.

Individuals with a Stellium in their chart, however, tend to be quite focused in the energies that the specific house represents as well as the sign that occupies these planets. (If our example had three planets in close proximity to one another and the fourth planet 12 degrees away, this would no longer be considered a Stellium.)

Return on October 9 for the eastern and western focus.

TRANSITING PLUTO/SATURN CONJUNCTION

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on October 4, 2019 at 8:55 AM Comments comments (0)

We have a very powerful conjunction coming together between transiting Pluto and transiting Saturn. These two planets will conjunct one another directly in January of 2020 but have been in force off and on throughout 2019. The transiting conjunction will complete its cycle by March of 2020. Both Planets are in the sign of Capricorn which often pointing towards power struggles and leadership especially related to business and enterprise.

Remember, this is a world-wide event affecting everyone at the same time. This could deal with politics and governmental institutions and speaks of challenging conditions causing great disruption and upheaval. On a world scale, we can see this beginning to take place particularly in the United States with the political turmoil taking hold as this is being written.

On a personal level, we will need to see what house this conjunction falls in as well as any other planetary influence in the natal chart being affected by this conjunction. The houses define areas of life involved in the equation while the planets from the natal chart define the energies involved.

Saturn often speaks of discipline and restrictions in place and also has to do with delays, obstruction and people in positions of authority. Pluto speaks of disruptions and power struggles and major transformations that take hold. The energies of Pluto can be disruptive but are often in place to produce a much needed change of direction. Pluto tends to tear down structures and then rebuild from the ruins. Its energies put an end to conditions so that something new and more beneficial can be built.

Saying that the energies of these two giants are intrusive and challenging is undermining the powerful influence that these planets can have on our lives. Words cannot express clearly how powerful these planets together can be. However, although intrusive and chaotic in nature during the change, they do build on creating a solid foundation that over time will stand the test of time and build resilience.

Saturn is the teacher and the disciplinarian, and Pluto dictates and removes that which has become stagnant and no longer serves a viable purpose. Pluto’s action is finite and uncovers anything that needs to surface so that it can be dealt with accordingly. What once was, no longer will be.

It will be interesting to see how these two energies link together and what the final outcome will be. We, as individuals, will need to address what has been in place and find ways to rebuild on a more structured and solid foundation. Above all else, we must learn from the experience.

MIDPOINTS IN ASTROLOGY

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on October 2, 2019 at 8:40 AM Comments comments (0)

Midpoints are considered one of the most successful Astrological applications available for predictive abilities. A midpoint is the exact halfway point between two planets or two significant points (Ascendant, Midheaven) or astrological bodies (such as Chiron). The Part of Fortune, as well as the Vertex, or other bodies that you use to delineate an Astrology Chart can also be used when calculating midpoints.

If, for example, you have Uranus at 11 degrees Cancer and the Moon at 28 degrees Scorpio, the midpoint would be 19 degrees Virgo. If you were to have a planet or significant point in the natal chart that is within a one degree orb of 19 degrees Virgo, that planet /point would be influenced by the energies of Uranus and the Moon. If, let’s say, you have Mars at 19 degrees, Mars would be heavily influenced by Uranus and the Moon.

With this example, when delineating transits and progressions, any planetary link to this position would also carry these overtones as well as the conjunction to Mars. You can also use the semi-square, the square, the sesquiquadrate and the opposition when delineating this configuration. These aspects are all divisions of 45 degrees and will bring action, create events and make these events noticeable to the individual and also, at times, to others that are involved in the equations.

Transit Midpoints are very significant when deciphering potential events especially events tied to situations that are suggested by the natal midpoints and the houses involved in the equation. As mentioned, use an orb of no more than one degree when deciphering what potential situations may occur. Midpoints are significant because they will provide the Astrologer with a clearer indication of what potential lies within the bounds of these transfigurations.

This can also be applied to any midpoint of any combination found in the natal chart, as the midpoint becomes a focal point when transits or progression join up and make contact with these sensitive points. In most cases when the conjunction is activated between the two planets or significant points and the aspect is direct within one minute, you can expect something to happen.

The house location of the midpoint will provide you with the area of life affected. Also, look at the houses the two bodies are located within in the natal chart to provide an even clearer picture. Also take into consideration what the planets represent and how this area of life will be affected.

For example, the Moon and Uranus and Mars would suggest an emotional experience that would be sudden and unexpected with the potential for aggressive action or progressive movement in the areas of life indicated.

Midpoints can pinpoint events although the more angles involved, the harder it is to delineate. Using the midpoint between the two planets is often sufficed in providing additional information.

When dealing with midpoints, pay particular attention to the midpoints between the Sun and the Moon, and the Ascendant and the Midheaven.

TRANSITING JUPITER TRINE NATAL PLUTO

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 30, 2019 at 9:00 AM Comments comments (0)

The position of Pluto in the natal chart is where you can expect major transformations, power struggles, deep penetrating insight, sexual overtones and potential regeneration. Changes take place in these areas of life and in many cases, there is not too much you can do about it. It is always best not to try to override Pluto’s energies.

Pluto often brings an end to conditions in order for something new to be activated.

Jupiter is about insight and expanded energies. Under most conditions Jupiter in transit offers up opportunities to succeed, growth through exploration and optimistic feelings. In many cases it is as though everything is going our way and it may happen on its own but if not then a little push may be all that is required.

In its lesson form, Jupiter brings over-optimism and extravagance. This may be true of almost anything that Jupiter touches.

Trines speak of easy flow and opportunities for success or good luck; however, in rare cases, if for example, someone has been quite sick for some time, trines can cause things to move ahead with little resistance. Little resistance is what trines speak about. Trines are what we wait for in life and in most cases, Jupiter’s energies are certainly worth the wait.

Pluto and Jupiter together may indicate a potential for growth and good fortunes as long as ego and power struggles do not become part of the process. Pluto may indicate someone in a position of power and authority although this is often Saturn’s domain. Pluto can cause ego disputes and in turn cause arguments and disruption (but not normally with the trine aspect). It might be more like good luck and recognition or potential positive transformation that might push us up the corporate ladder of success if this is business oriented. Pluto with Jupiter will likely create some opportunities to move forward in life and raising the bar might not be a bad idea. Who knows where this might take us.

Much will depend on the houses involved in our personal Astrology chart, as well as other aspects to this position. Making changes is often what this aspect is about. Improve life not only for yourself but also for others. Pluto carries a lot of weight and we might be surprised at what we can do now. Sometimes these opportunities for change affect us on a very personal level, so we should make sure that we use these energies to the best of our abilities.

If Jupiter goes into retrograde we might have several opportunities as it passes over the same position or planet in our chart usually up to three times. What doesn’t work the first time might very well work better the second and then finalize the situation on its final or third pass.

SUN IN LIBRA SEPTEMBER 24 2019

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 23, 2019 at 8:50 AM Comments comments (0)

As the Sun moves from Virgo to Libra on September 24 this year (2019), we move from the mutable earth sign to a cardinal air sign. Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) are known to have a need to advance in life. In general they formulate a plan then move ahead in these objectives. Libra is a balancing sign. This does not mean that they are balanced but does indicate their need for balance. Librans will strive for harmony and peace at almost any cost. They will work tirelessly to achieve this in their lives, particularly in the area of relationships. This could include the relationship with their spouse and their relationships with all others, including their children, family, parents and friends and also the people that they will run into.

Most Librans are very cordial and amiable and truly want to please others. They are the peacemakers of the Zodiac, and they enjoy creating harmony in whatever circle that they are a part of. In most cases they are pleasant to be around and very social individuals. They appear quite refined and often enjoy the finer things in life, not to the extent of Taurus but they are ruled by the same planet (Venus) and Venus loves beautiful things.

Those with their Sun in the sign of Libra will soon be experiencing the energies of Mars which moves through Libra beginning October 5, 2019, and finishing its journey in Libra on November 20, 2019. At some point all those with their Sun in Libra will experience this conjunction to Mars as it transits through their sun sign.

Mars is all about activity and action, and it promotes a real strong push in whatever area of life it is found (house). It will vary from person to person depending on what degree their Sun is in the sign of Libra. Allowing an orb of 3-5degrees approaching and 2-3 degrees separating, if you have a Libra sun, you can look at your ephemeris to see how long it will affect your chart as well as when the energy is the strongest.

How things pan out over this week or so will be determined by the aspects that the natal Sun makes to other natal planets and angles in the chart, as well as any transits that are applying to your Sun at the same time. In some cases, Mars may pass by with little notice, so Astrology will let you know when the energies are the strongest and you can push a little harder at that time to make things happen.

Transiting Saturn and Pluto will be square to the Sun (check ephemeris for degrees of these two planets), so the energies of the Sun may be somewhat harnessed and likely you will experience some setbacks, potential power struggles and transformations along the way. They meet up in January, 2020, at around 22 to 23 degrees of Capricorn and will likely causing some disruption felt by all with their sun in Libra, and particularly those with their Sun in Libra close to these degrees. The transit of Saturn and Pluto will be influential for anyone with planets in these degrees in their natal chart and manifest in the areas of life determined by the houses that they are in. Things might be a little volatile at this time, so using the energies appropriately is suggested.

Happy Solar return to our Libran readers.

FALL EQUINOX - SEPTEMBER 23, 2019

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 20, 2019 at 8:50 AM Comments comments (0)

In 2019, the Fall equinox will be September 23 at 3:50 a.m. EDT.

Typically the equinoxes represent the equal division of day and night.

The Spring equinox (Ostara) celebrates new beginnings and fresh starts.

The Fall equinox (Mabon) celebrates reaping the rewards of our hard labour and gathering the harvest. The Fall equinox is a time of reflection on the harvest of our achievements and often considered a time of change. It is linked to the sign of Libra which above all else is a sign striving for balance. The balance that we should strive for is the knowing of what we need to hold on to and what we need to let go of.

Some consider this a time of sacrifice as we now reap the rewards of our labour and if we have not sown the seeds of life in the manner we needed to, we may have to sacrifice because of these shortfalls and count our losses. We, at Holm Astrology, like to see it on the flip side. It is not a sacrifice but a lesson well learned. Life is much like a mirror. It reflects back what we put out.

Astrologically, the Fall equinox represents a balancing point of our self-image. Do we disapprove of what and where we find ourselves? Now is the time to review our goals for our life’s quest. Do we continue with the conquests we have created or do we adjust before we move on? This review will assist us in recognizing our abilities and true self.

On the opposite side, the spring equinox is linked to the sign Aries and Aries begins things and initiates action. These two points (spring and fall equinox) are known as cardinal points. The cardinal points in the horoscope are known as action points. They are used as timing devices and lead to activity, drive, ambition, and involvement. During these cycles, we should consider this as a time of action -- either related to the start of something or the end or culmination point of whatever action we have already taken.

It is a time to actively pursue a course of action, to take control of our lives and push forward in the direction of our choice. Cardinal signs are action oriented and strive for activity that is often personally initiated. This should be the time we utilize to things happen. Do not wait for or rely on others.

This will be the time to push ahead or count our losses which ever applies. (“Losses” is actually not the word we are looking for. Lessons are never losses. They are gains but they push us in totally different directions than the direction we thought we should be moving in.) If we are going to move in a new direction, than now is the time to set these new things in motion. Use the energies of the equinox to push forward and make the changes needed to address any situation that needs addressing. The time has come to move beyond any stagnated stages of life that have held us back. Now is the time to reap the rewards after a busy season of planting the seeds and nurturing growth. These efforts are now ready to be harvested.

Take advantage of the energies available. What are your goals? What can be done to see these to fruition? Do you have to tweak or start over? How do you see yourself? What do you like about yourself? Are you willing to change or is change even necessary? Do you love yourself? There are so many questions we can ask!

NATAL OR TRANSITING PLUTO CONJUNCT THE MIDHEAVEN

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 18, 2019 at 8:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Is Natal or Transiting Pluto conjunct your Midheaven (MC)?

Pluto on the Midheaven at birth suggests an individual with a powerful presence especially in the working environment. They will have the ability to transform the working environment not only for themselves but also for those that they either work for or work with. This position speaks of leadership and the changes that can take place in this person’s life when they transform working conditions and regenerate this area of their life.

There may be some struggles with personal wills when it comes to moving forward with their objectives but any challenges will facilitate changes required to further the evolution of the individual in question. The actual process would be very deep and would describe changes and transformations on a fairly constant basis. Any changes that do take place will be of a permanent in nature. There would be no half measures with this ongoing process as the transformation is usually on a very deep and personal level. It is also often life altering.

This is a position of regeneration of the life goals. This individual would gain recognition for their efforts with uncovering integral internal changes but these changes would usually require some participation from others in the working environment. These individuals may find that there is some opposition to their efforts by their superiors and the best route to follow is one where the ego stays in the background. The individuals with this aspect may have an approach which might be quite aggressive and this might also stand in the way of progress, but standing in the shadows is not what these individuals are meant to do either.

Much of their approach depends on the astrological sign involved. For example, if Pluto is in Virgo, regardless of this aspect, this generation of individuals would proceed in a meticulous fashion, digging up material that needs alterations and strategic changes. With a Virgo influence this would take place in a very organized manner. Everything will have its place and their presentation would be accurate and detailed. The Pluto Virgo individuals operate in a very orderly manner with expertise at their disposal.

Those with say Pluto in Scorpio may work below the radar and do things in a much more subtle manner. They would go deep into what needs transformation and challenge tradition. If they have this aspect, they would make suggestion on how the company would best work under most any condition. They would be more subtle in their approach but have an impact that would not go unnoticed. Their approach would be intense and also very complete. Pluto Scorpio individuals would bring things to the surface that others may not even have noticed or dared to bring to the surface. They may be more of the quiet type but would present an image of know-how and people would notice their presence.

When transiting Pluto is residing on the Midheaven, this period speaks of transformation in the working environment. Depending on the overall conditions in the individuals chart, there would be powerful influences taking place that may involve disruptions and major changes to take place. There may be disruptions with people in power or authority and difficulties simply based on varying opinions. The changes that would take place could open doors for new positions of authority and may offer an opportunity to move up the corporate ladder into a management position.

Pluto will uncover anything that needs to be transformed into a higher state. This is done in order to move forward regardless of obstruction. Pluto will facilitate change on one level or another.

THE IMUM COELI OR IC IN ASTROLOGY

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 16, 2019 at 8:35 AM Comments comments (0)

The Imum Coeli more commonly known as the IC is usually found on the fourth house cusp (depending on the house system used by the Astrologer). In the equal house system, it can also be found in the second, third and fifth houses, which will alter the influence of its meaning. In most house systems, the IC is found on the cusp of the fourth house indicating a parent, arguably either parent, but in this Astrologer’s opinion, it involves the more submissive, mothering, caring parent.) The fourth house cusp or IC also deals with the home, the family and your roots.

It is known as the basis or foundation of our life and although this area of the chart is considered quite private, it still has a dominant affect in our lives, especially when transiting planets make aspects to this area. It should also be understood that this highly influential area while in aspect will not only affect our home and family (fourth house matters), but will also affect the opposite end of the spectrum, the MC (10th house matters). Transits to either of these areas of the Chart will affect the opposite ends of the Chart. So when the home and family are being affected in our lives and security wavers, it may be due to demands from the MC, which deals with one’s status, occupation and ambitions.

When either the IC or the MC is receiving a conjunction from a transiting or progressed planet or a luminary (the sun or moon), the opposite will be receiving an opposition. When one of the IC or the MC is receiving a square from a planet or luminary, the other will also be receiving a square. When one is receiving a trine, the other will be receiving a sextile. Hence the impact of a transiting planet or progressed planet will affect both areas of the Astrology chart.

The IC describe our most personal needs, as it is connected to the natural sign ruling the fourth house, which is Cancer, ruled by the Moon. As a result, it defines emotional needs, nurturing characteristics, and our attitude towards family. It will be colored by the sign ruling the fourth house cusp, as well as any planetary links found within the fourth house, particularly when a planet is conjunct within 2 degrees of the cusp on either side. A planet or luminary within four degrees in the third house will also affect the IC.

If, for example, Uranus were conjuncting the IC, it would be in opposition to the MC. We could, as a result, expect changes sometimes drastic in nature to the home and family, such as a move and influences in our occupation and status in life. These changes could be of a rather sudden nature and a need for freedom and breaking free in order to create change would be on the agenda. Much would depend on the overall conditions of Uranus in the birth chart and its location by house and sign.

The IC and MC, particularly in early life, depict incidents linked to the parents which in turn will affect the child. This parental influence on a child shifts as we mature. The influence widens in such a way that we are no longer just influenced by the parents that dictate our lives, but we are also now affected by an extended version of the family and our place in the overall structures of life.

Much emphasis is given to the MC and the Ascendant in an Astrology chart. We also, however, have to consider the IC and the DC when deciphering what impact planetary movement will have in our lives.

FULL MOON - SEPTEMBER 14 2019

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 13, 2019 at 8:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Astrologers have noted that a Full Moon can be described as a culmination of events (time to harvest) which should have began some six months ago (when the New Moon was in the same Astrological sign as the current Full Moon). What was begun six months ago should now be at its completion. Our efforts, depending on how we prepared and the work that was put into nurturing the project, will now be reaped.

If we did little to activate growth and did little to promote a healthy growing period, we may now have to rethink our project or place more commitment into it in order to reach the next stage of development. Have we nurtured our life’s garden, will we make major changes or scrap what was begun?

If we put much love and effort into the growth of our goals, we will have a good harvest to enjoy now.

Much will also depend on the Zodiac sign involved as well as which other planets are involved when experiencing the Full Moon. This is not only reflective in the planets and signs involved through transit (the movement of planets through the natal chart) but also by planetary placement or angle displacement (ASC, MC, IC or DC) in the birth (natal) chart. Connections within the birth chart should be no more than 3-5 degrees to the Full Moon’s placement on September 14, 2019 at 12:35 a.m. This harvest moon will be in the sign of Pisces. The aspects to consider should also only be a conjunction or opposition although the trine and sextile have a somewhat lesser influence. In general, this is particularly true when it comes to eclipses, although with eclipses the trine and sextile are not an influence at all.

The Piscean placement of this Full Moon often speaks of spiritual influence or psychic stimulus although it can also speak of particulars being vague or things being unclear. Pisces is an inspirational sign which carries with it the elements of emotional intensity and a high degree of sensitivity to whatever is unfolding in life.

This Full Moon will be conjunct Neptune and as a result, there may be a degree of uncertainty or illusion attached to whatever is taking place. Be sure to have someone you know, and you trust will not take advantage of the situation, provide you with some guidance as there is often a sense of illusiveness or on the contrary insightful experiences at hand.

With Neptune, which is in currently conjunction this placement, as well as Pluto which is sextile to this placement, there certainly might be an element of change and quite possibly a magical element attached to the area of life involved (defined by the houses involved). Check your chart to see the position of the Full Moon and also the houses of transiting Neptune and transiting Pluto as this will help define what areas of life are involved.

Transformations are likely taking place and sometimes a new beginning is unfolding after a death of sorts has taken place. The old has to die before something knew can be born. This of course is not literal, but something has to be completed and finalized before a new path can unfold.

The Piscean Full Moon is at 21 degrees and again will be direct on September 14, 2019. Have a close look at your chart and see how this might work favourably for you, or what you might do so as not to be deceived by what might seem to be elusive, or in contrast, highly spiritual.

TRANSITING CHIRON CONJUNCT THE MIDHEAVEN

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 11, 2019 at 8:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Chiron, a comet known in Astrology as the wounded healer, while in transit takes between 49 to 51 years to make a full cycle around the Zodiac. As a result, at most, you can have the conjunction to the MC twice in your life unless of course Chiron is in its retrograde cycle while it crosses your MC.

In the natal chart, Chiron is representative of your most challenging wound and the work you must put into healing this wound. Some say that the wound can never be healed and we are better at healing others than healing ourselves depending on the house your Chiron is located in.

Many people believe that in order to help others with their issues, we must at some point have needed to help ourselves in a similar fashion. Without experience in that particular area, how can we truly be of help to others?

In order to help ourselves or heal ourselves, we first have to recognize what the wound is. We can’t heal something until we first accept what needs healing.

Depending on which house and aspects are involved with Chiron in our natal chart, we may have to work on ourselves from a mental perspective first and recognize that our mental conditioning has a powerful influence on what we believe we can do. If Chiron is poorly aspected in the Astrology chart then there is more than normal work needed in order to heal our personal wound. If Chiron is nicely aspected perhaps the healing is easier to come by, but do not let the aspects in your Astrology chart hold you back. Anything can be healed, and this healing always begins with your perspective.

The MC (Midheaven) deals with our occupation, our goals in life and is the most public place in an Astrology chart. It is also how the general public perceives us through what we have achieved in life. When our MC is activated by transiting Chiron, it can show itself as pain or healing. With most people, unfortunately, pain is the first most evident.

Chiron aspecting our MC can be a time to release tension or anxiety. It can also be associated with our goals in life and the path we choose to manifest or not to manifest. Our destiny or preconceived notion of what we believe we are capable of achieving always has the potential to materialize.

Since the MC as well as the IC deal with the parents, one of the parents, (the most dominant one) may be the source of healing required under this connection. The healing may be connected to a past perceived wrong; perhaps we were not treated well or not given enough love and affection, in our opinion. This would have had an influence on our lives. It may be time to shed these concepts to heal the wounds and rid ourselves of this feeling of lack.

We do not have to hold on to hurt any longer than we choose to. It is a choice.

Sometimes we need forgiveness or we are the ones that need to forgive. Whatever needs healing under this connection, we can take advantage of the energies at hand with this conjunction. If we do utilize the energies, we may come out the other side much stronger and also find compassion perhaps where there was little prior to our personal work.

If the occupation is what needs healing then perhaps we will need to make adjustments to our work or move out of the situation, by changing jobs. If our attitude is what needs adjusting then we need to make that adjustment and heal our wounds before we leave the work place or it may reappear in our next job. We cannot simply run from adversity. We need to face the issues head on and take action accordingly.

What will you do with these energies when they materialize in your Astrology chart? What healing is required and how can it be facilitated?

NORTH NODE OR SOUTH NODE CONJUNCT THE MIDHEAVEN IN ASTROLOGY

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 9, 2019 at 8:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Since the Midheaven or MC, is usually a very public place, those individuals that have their North Node in conjunction to this axis are here to gain recognition within the working environment and to receive some type of honour for some of the work and achievements that they accomplish. The MC is relative to our interaction with the world at large and our place in it. It has been known as the axis of destiny and is often connected to public life, particularly when heavily activated in the birth chart.

Any planetary link, including nodal connection, will need comprehensive review to decipher. The sign that the node is in or the planet that is conjunct as well as the planet’s rulership will have to be delineated to get a detailed definition of what the MC is telling us.

When the MC is connected to the North Node, and as it is understood that the North Node is what we should be striving towards in this incarnation, many individuals will seek friendships with people of like minds as this will help to facilitate the need for recognition in this life. These people that are sought out may help with achieving goals.

Often there is great progress made with the objectives and some individuals with this connection will receive the recognition and public status that they are looking for, but not always for the best reasons. It is important that every effort is made to ensure that this work is for the benefit of others and serving the general interests of the public, rather than only to achieve success for their own personal gain. Whether or not they achieve their heart’s desire will often by indicated by the planetary links to the conjunction and the overall condition suggested in the birth chart.

When there is a strong link especially by conjunction between the South Node and the MC, it is suggested that in a prior life that these people received plenty of recognition for their efforts. They may have been in positions of authority where others would have helped them achieve great things or notoriety, much depends on the aspects to this position. In this life, rather than being centre stage which they were in the previous one, they are to remain low-key and stay in the background perhaps aiding others in their endeavours.

There is often a need to develop a sense of humbleness and a modest attitude and that these individuals put their emphasis on the home and family, rather than making a name for themselves. They may have to take a humble stance in the material world and leave behind their need for recognition and achievement.

With the SN conjunct the MC, these individual’s life’s objectives will change significantly as the North Node (NN) is now conjunct the IC and this is where they will be drawn to working within the family and home environment, developing themselves on a deep emotional level, which is quite different from their previous existence of outer recognition.

The North Node’s objectives will usually be realized. Assistance and the push in life will often come from outside sources. The North Node is uncharted territory and a little uncomfortable for most of us. Many initially will shy away from this push by outside forces, but eventually they will realize and accept the fact that they are to move in this direction.

Those individuals, in particular, with the Aries point degrees on the MC (29 degrees Mutable to 2 degrees Cardinal) have the opportunity to gain public recognition for their efforts. Cardinal emphasis in a chart will push people into achievement in many cases. Hard work is emphasized unless there are other mitigating factors found within the birth chart.

TRANSITING PLUTO SQUARE NATAL VENUS

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 6, 2019 at 8:40 AM Comments comments (0)

We are writing this post in September of 2019 and Pluto is currently around the 20 degree mark of Capricorn and moving as far ahead as 25 degrees and then going retrograde where it stays until October of 2020.

When Pluto goes direct again, it will have gone back to 22 degrees and 29 minutes Capricorn. This post will affect those individuals that have their Venus either in the later degrees of Libra or Aries. As Pluto becomes exact to the degree of your Venus, the intensity increases and then begins to fade when it is about 2 degrees past direct. You can feel Pluto’s energies as much as 2 to 5 degrees approaching.

Pluto’s energies transform and regenerate and often suggest that an end of sorts is on the horizon. Of course there will need to be other factors in the Astrology chart suggesting something similar. Pluto seeks to change things that no longer are suitable for our evolutionary quest. Quite often we will get nudges along the way which prepare us ahead of time of what is approaching.

Pluto is an outer planet and as a result often brings change and disruption that in many ways appears out of our control. It links up with Saturn at around 22 to 23 degrees of Capricorn in January of 2020 intensifying the energies as they merge as one. If you have your natal Venus in Aries or Libra around the 22 to 23degrees, you will be influenced by this conjunction and likely in a very powerful way. There is nothing that would be considered half-way about Pluto and there is likely to be some struggle about steadiness and the need for change which will cause some disruption to situations.

Venus has to do with love and affection and is also related to the finances. Venus is also connected to young women or women in general. The Moon is more representative of the mother than Venus so unless you have the Moon in aspect at the same time, the woman that might be involved is likely not your mother.

Venus is also a very social planet and represents our ability to be hospitable and even generous. If linked with Jupiter, the generosity part of this aspect is generally increased and a jovial and often carefree and open attitude is part of the natal profile for those with this aspect in the birth chart.

If love and affection is part of the picture under this influent, the square often suggests that there is a testing period especially during the Saturn involvement. If things are not subject to change and transformation, the potential for an ending of sorts is likely. Squares usually imply obstacles to overcome and stressful conditions are at hand; however, they also suggest that due to the stressful conditions we are pushed to make changes or life itself presents us with the necessary change that is requirement for the soul. We actually need stressful aspects in order to propel ahead.

What takes place will depend on the houses involved. We must look into the house transiting Pluto is moving through as well as the house where Venus is located to get a clearly picture of which areas of life are involved. If, for example, the second house is part of the picture then finances and security issues are likely part of what is taking place. If it is the fifth or seventh house involved then partnerships, either marriage partnership or romantic partnerships, or it could also have something to do with your children, which is fifth house related.

You should also have a look at the natal placement of your Pluto as well as the general feel for its conditions represented by the aspects it receives. The natal profile always has to be taken into consideration when delineating a chart. The whole chart and its transits will jointly relay the information for any current life events.

THE TEACHER AND THE STUDENT

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 5, 2019 at 8:50 AM Comments comments (0)

There are many individuals born to be teachers. They come into our lives bearing the knowledge and truths that we need to hear for that moment in time. Some teachers may only be in our lives for mere moments and yet the lessons they teach us are extremely significant. Some teachers are part of our lives for many years.

We teach our children just as our parents taught us. Then as we begin to age our children in many ways become our teachers. They teach us on many levels. We can see our own reflection in them and realize how we helped shape who they are now, or even possibly how we disrupted their growth in some ways.

At times, some of us find it hard to acknowledge and accept the information that our children teach us but this is only ego. We are accustomed to being the ones assisting our children as they grow, not the other way around.

Our spouses are probably one of our more important teachers, and we receive knowledge from them on an ongoing basis. We are always learning from each other. Undoubtedly, this is one of the main reasons we have been brought together.

There will be many times that we will be faced with issues, and, as long as we let go of our ego and stay open, we will grow from these experiences.

Life is the greatest teacher of all. When we are faced with challenges and even tragedies in our lives, we often wonder what good could possible come from these experiences. Yet, upon reflection, we come to realize that the lessons, although hard learned, were valuable. These challenging conditions that we are faced with from time to time can be very trying particularly when we take them personally. These lessons can be heart wrenching if we attempt to challenge and fight what is.

Life is not always hard lessons. We also experience uncountable occasions that could not get any sweeter.

Recognize the balance.

We tend to grow from the lessons we are presented with, and we can recharge during the calm, laid-back moments. Be grateful for both. There are many large life lessons that we will experience as well as everyday experiences that we so often take for granted yet both are equally important.

We are here to experience and to balance the student and the teacher within us.

DOES ASTROLOGY DICTATE?

Posted by holmastrology@gmail.com on September 4, 2019 at 11:40 AM Comments comments (0)

Over the years, we have reviewed many astrological configurations in our posts. We have reviewed the birth chart aspects, the meanings of houses and planetary energies and the list goes on and on. What we would now like to touch on today is astrologically based, but we are reviewing from a bit of a different angle.

There are many people that study Astrology through books, the classroom and by delineating their own chart and the charts of others. We at Holm Astrology have taken astrology courses, read many books and studied the subject in great depth for decades. The beauty behind this science is that our forefathers have provided many transcripts and much information which has been gathered and confirmed over a very long period of time. The history of Astrology goes back several thousand years and thank goodness for the information that has been formulated before us which is still available for all of us to utilize.

It is our hope that we can spark your interest in Astrology and provide you with a useful foundation if only to understand your own Astrology chart.

What we wanted to touch on in this post is related to the natal chart, and we promise not to go too deep all at once. We want to ensure that if you look into the workings of your own charts or would like to study other people’s chart that you have a good understand of what is being laid in front of you. We also want to ensure that you understand although the chart speaks of details of many aspects of our personality as well as forecasting potential energies that are forthcoming, we as individuals are ultimately in the driver’s seat and it is in our hands to change or tweak anything that we may find in our charts.

We are not at the mercy of the astrological energies, and although transits and progressions certainly do have an impact on our lives and are extremely accurate in their definition, we always are at the helm. We personally control our attitude and outlook on the outcome of these events as well as our responses to them. It is always at our discretion how we choose to view any incident that happens in our life. We can choose to be swept away and swallowed up by events or we can take control of how we handle any situation in our lives and look at the more challenging events as lessons and not punishment.

The personality characteristics that come naturally to us can always be adapted and tweaked to work for us instead of making life difficult. We can learn to use what is available to us instead of feeling victim to them.

Going one step further, our birth chart has many aspects and planetary placements that carry great weight in our lives; however, any square or opposition can be turned into a trine or sextile as our life moves forward. This is not to say that we will not experience the lessons that the aspect or planetary position suggests. We do suggest, however, that we can use the lessons to our advantage by making changes conducive to our growth and turn the lesson into something that not only fosters growth on many levels but adds to who we are as individuals.

It is important, therefore, not to get overly caught up in challenging events within the Astrology chart or in lessons suggesting disruptions through transit or progression. These are stepping stones to great development and achievements. We have the ability to learn lessons and conquer any obstacle in life including any challenging conditions within a birth chart. It is, of course, up to each individual to recognize this and put it into motion in their lives.

Understand, beyond question, that you can achieve success on any levels as a result of challenging positions and aspects found within your birth chart. They are only insurmountable if you decide that they are.

We are certainly at the controls of our reaction to our life’s events. Nothing stands in the way of progress except our mind’s focus. You have control over all of your thoughts that are less than positive and can, with practice, channel them in a positive direction.

Enjoy the beautiful journey of life and take advantage of the information that your Astrology chart provides you with. It is a wonderful tool to have.
