  • Neptune Aspects | holmastrology.com

Jupiter's aspects are almost always considered a positiveas they creates expansion and growth on many levels. Aspects to Neptune We are working on this page and will be adding more Neptune aspects in the future. Neptune is a mysterious planet, ruling the sign Pisces. NEPTUNE TRANSITS THROUGH THE ZODIAC Neptune is the planet of illumination, inspiration, intuition and psychic access. It has also been tied to ambiguity, confusion, dismay, vulnerability and not seeing things as they truly are. Neptune is the planet of psychic awareness even under the most distressful aspects and can be illuminated but twisted when in challenging situations. Neptune is spiritual, can be religious, and will enhance your perception and any psychic inclinations you may have. As it makes contacts with planetary energies within the framework of your natal chart, it will illuminate the energies of the planet and merge its emeries with the planet in question, especially when a conjunction is taking hold. In some cases, Neptune will help solve issues that have been plaguing the individual especially when aligned in positive aspect to Mercury or Jupiter. In contrast, if Neptune is making a hard aspect like a square or opposition to Mercury, you will want to make sure that you are not blowing things out of proportion, and you should ensure that you are seeing things as they truly are. Help from outside sources is often suggested especially if your Natal Mercury is under stressful aspects to other planets particularly to Neptune in the birth chart. Transiting Neptune to the Sun or your North Node can bring forward goals and your life’s path can be highly attuned to deeper insight, and assistance may surface from outside sources that you may not have deemed likely in your life. You may have visions or dreams that can open doors that have been closed or not even apparent for many years. Neptune can instigate psychic energies that are straight from the light and into your consciousness for the first time in your life or open channels greater than those available before this time. As we write this, Neptune will move into Aries next year (2025). Perhaps this might be a time when we move ahead with our own objectives in a more intuitive and spiritual quest and change the course of our own personal lives slowly as its energies unfold. Neptune also has to do with talent as it rules Pisces and the twelfth house. Music, acting, art, etc. can become highlighted as Neptune opens pathways that have been closed prior to now. Neptune can be magical in its delivery when well aspected to natal positions. It may bring energies you never believed could take hold in life. Neptune in Aries sounds personal and that is just what it is. In the past 14-15 years, Neptune was in Pisces and what we were taught during this stay in Pisces can be used in personal terms. This can be a time of awakening to your higher self, stimulating your intuitive faculties and bringing to life what you never deemed possible. Use Neptune’s energies to the best of your abilities and uncover the mysteries of life. Specific Aspects Unless otherwise specified, the following aspects are by Transiting Neptune. • Ascendant or-rising-sign | holmastrology.com

ASCENDANT OR RISING SIGN The Ascendant Sign or Rising Sign is descriptive of our outside personality, the one we reveal to the world. This will usually differ from our Sun Sign and this is a sure reason why some individuals are seen as quite different from the typical characteristics associated with their Sun Sign personality. The Sun Sign still resonates and is usually more prominent as we get to know and fulfill the characteristics of our true selves. The Sun Sign is you’re inside personality while the Ascendant sign reveals an outer personality that we are willing to reveal to the world. The Ascendant Sign often depicts our appearance and the way we carry ourselves in our outside environment. It is believed at least by this Astrologer that we are meant to merge our Sun Sign with our Rising Sign as well as the sign and house placement of the Moon as we develop and mature. It is with this merging that we can distinguish our true more complete selves and we can represent our true selves in a more authentic manner. The Ascendant sign is also a very significant point when transits and progressions move across or make important aspects to it. The changes and transformations that are often accompanied through the transit connections to this point are very significant to our overall development. Changes in our appearance, our evolution, our ideologies and life concepts as well as changes to relationships with important people all come under careful scrutiny during these transiting times. For example, Uranus crossing over the Ascendant often correlates with major wants for something new and exciting in life. We are often viewed from the outside world as being rather eccentric in our behaviour during powerful transits or progressions affecting this area of our chart. The want to break free from restrictive or old outdated ways or relationships that fall into this category are often by-products of a Uranus transit especially when in Conjunction, Square or Opposition. Uranus is also known as the awakener and many will go through an awakening process as Uranus transits this placement. It is important to also look at the opposing house cusp (7th) and the ruling planet and house placement of your ascendant sign to gain further insight into potential changes taking place in your life. The aspect that the planet is making will define whether it is stressful or an opportunity or just plain easy flow, while the planet will define the type of action that can be anticipated. The house placement of the Ascendant’s ruling planet will also define the area of life that will be affected. Any outer planet that transits this placement will have significant influence on your life. It often takes several years for these slow moving bodies to move out of the orb of influence. Those that are sensitive can feel the approach of the planet by as much as 4-5 degrees and the separation of the link by up to 2-3 degree. The affects will be felt for a long period of time and will change life’s conditions significantly. Often these outer planets signify a complete change in your life’s course and a new beginning. Have a close look at any outer planet making a conjunction in particular, as this is the most powerful of the major aspects. The planet and the sign on the Ascendant will merge and act as an intensifying agent of the conditions already in place in the birth chart. Be ready for change, transformation and a new beginning as these powerful entities begin taking hold in your life. • The moon | holmastrology.com

The Moon The Moon is the ruling planet of the sign Cancer and is also affiliated with the fourth house. The Moon represents the mothering instinct and is linked to the feminine energies within each of us. The Moon deals with primal emotional needs. It is where we nurture ourselves and take care of ourselves on an emotional level. It is where we feel safe within, where we emotionally react to life problems and also find the answers. It provides us with a safe haven, a comfortable and secure emotional foundation that feels like home. It is where we can go and reside in a gentle manner away from the intrusive forces of life and secure a place for ourselves when in times of strife. We could call this the emotional home or safe haven. Feelings of security are linked to the Moon and along with the second house can provide the deepest emotional support that all of us so fundamentally require. The Moon sign and house position depict our emotional reaction to outside stimuli in our lives. For example someone with the Moon in Taurus or in the second house , will find emotional security through building a foundation often based on material gatherings and monetary comfort. Someone who has the Moon in Pisces will secure this emotional structure through an interaction with the higher sources and will find peace through communication with spirit and an inclination to psychic linking and intuitive perception. The Moon also rules the basic habits we form in the formative years. It has to do with our upbringing and often relates directly to the most nurturing parent and how they provided us with early support in childhood. The moon is linked to the past and memories from the past and also how the past has affected us in our world today. Many are tied to how their life was comforted through mothering and taking care of their emotional requirements. While the Sun has to do with our ego and will and conscious selves, the Moon has to do with instinctual response on an emotional level, letting go of the ego and its intervention, and the unconscious mind. The Moon is responsive, reactive and instinctual. It often deals with our inner selves and our emotional being and our sense of self-worth. The Moon is our deepest emotional self and describes our needs, our emotional wants and how we emotionally react to the world around us. The Moon is our mothering side, our nurturing side and our response to the environment. This mothering and nurturing response to the world deals with how we tend to not only ourselves and our emotional needs but also how we tend to the needs of those that are important to us. In its positive responsive state, it fosters emotional interaction, sensitivity and the need to assist others on an emotional level, providing us in turn with self-assuredness also on an emotional level. The Moon is our nurturing requirements being met and then our natural response the world around us in times of need. It fosters emotional kindness, emotional sympathy, emotional compassion and love. In its more negative expression, the Moon has to do with feeling of unworthiness, self-insufficiency, emotion worry, excessive emotional responsiveness and a general feeling of anxiety about the world around us. The Moon by sign and house placement and aspect delineation will define the emotional life's reactions, the emotional state of being and the emotional instinctive reactions to life itself. We should also check to see the Moon’s element (Air, Earth, Water and Fire) and modality (Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable). Astrology 101 The Moon is depicts our emotions. It is the ruler of Cancer and is affiliated with the Fourth House. The Sun Mercury Venus Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune Pluto

  • Pluto Retrograde

Pluto Retrograde Pluto Retrograde Pluto moves in and out of retrograde several times each year. It remains in retrograde for approximately 150 days a year, often lasting for several months at a time. Transiting Pluto is a powerhouse in the horoscope, and it intensifies in strength when it makes aspects to planets and points within the natal chart or the progressed chart. The orb for influence in the transit of Pluto can be felt for those with a strong sensitivity up to 5 degrees while approaching (0 degrees being direct) and 2 degrees separating (after being direct and moving away). While in progression, it is most significant when it comes within 15 minutes of being direct. When Pluto moves into the retrograde motion, it intensifies and becomes very powerful. The transformational abilities linked to Pluto increase and the regenerative abilities are enhanced. Any power struggles can also become much more apparent when Pluto is in retrograde, so it is wise to avoid interaction that could lead to intense situations, especially if linked somehow to the planet Mars or Uranus. It may be very challenging to avoid situations that require change especially when Pluto transits a planet while in retrograde. It could be considered a time for cleansing and a time to release any worn out or outdated attitudes. It is as though you are addressing a list of things to do that was written last year. It is wise to review and remove those items that no longer apply and add more important requirements that are relevant to your life today. During retrograde motion, it is a good time for inner study and to dig up issues that have been buried for too long. It might not always be pleasant what you initially find but these challenging conditions will need to be confronted and dealt with. Any patterns in your life that have reached a state of uncontrollable insistence can best be addressed now and dealt with and changed (usually on a permanent basis). Much (as always) depends on which house Pluto is transiting and also the house that Pluto is located in within the natal chart as these will be areas of life that will undergo Pluto’s transformative energies. You may be forced to challenge any issues you dig up and bring to the surface. An example might be communicative challenges if transiting Pluto is moving through the third house or if natal Pluto resides in this house. Also you should look to see where Pluto’s ruling sign (Scorpio) is found as this will also indicate where these changing conditions might become apparent. Those with Pluto retrograde at birth are known to have great recuperative abilities and they can withstand illnesses that might be considered debilitating for many others. We would suggest that you review how Pluto is aspected in the natal chart. Also review the aspects linked to the planets that transiting Pluto is making aspects to during its cycle in order to get a feel for how these areas of life along with the energies associated with the planets involved will affect the overall conditions of this very significant transit of Pluto. In general, it is a good time to get in touch with any issues that need dealing with or cleansing. Review to see what your inner needs may be. It is a time for inner reflection and transformation that usually takes a year or two to unfold. On an outer level, it is also a good time to begin exercise programs and detoxifying diets that help cleanse the body but do not forget your spiritual needs at this time as well. Enjoy the rather intense transformation that often takes place as Pluto moves into direct and retrograde motion affecting planetary links and important positions in your birth chart. • Venus' return | holmastrology.com

VENUS' RETURN A Venus return chart that closely matches the natal chart by sign and degree signifies an important year. Venus’ cycle is approximately one year, a little over or under by roughly one month depending on the year. The house position and aspects and especially contacts with the angles define what type of return can be anticipated. When deciphering a Venus return remember to take into consideration that this is a chart which has to do with Venetian matters. These matters will have an influence on love and affection and often speaks of a love interest. Sometimes it speaks of the daughter or a young important female and in some cases on a wider scale is representative of women in general. Venus also has to do with social activities such as marriage and social events such as parties and engagements of importance. Venus also has to do with popularity and material objects such as gifts and acquisitions often referred to as elegant or pleasing to the eye. The house Venus is located in within the Venus return will be an area of interest and much can be said with regards to what this period will be about by its house position. The Ascendant and the placement of its ruler also help uncover the potential that lies within this Venus return chart. The aspects which Venus receives from other planets in this chart define how positive or challenging this period might be. However, it should be noted that Venus in many cases helps to alleviate some conditions especially when linked favourably to the Sun, Jupiter and the Ascendant. Challenging aspects to Venus in the return can affect love connections and also finances but favourable aspects will also affect these areas in a complimentary and positive manner. Remember all challenges found in any chart are put in place to be resolved and they are the ones that hold the greatest lessons which propel us forward in life. All returns are indicative of the beginning of a new cycle and are defined by what the return planet ( Venus in this case) is about. • Pluto Aspects | holmastrology.com

Information on energies related to Aspects to Pluto Transiting Pluto’s abilities to transform and regenerate are highlighted when it is traveling through the birth chart. There is nothing subtle about Pluto’s influence and you will be quite aware that something needs to be changed or altering when it makes contact. Pluto’s energies are abrupt and disruptive in their actions and the changes that Pluto is putting on the table need to be reworked and transformed so they fit life better. When Pluto is finished transiting through a house or linking up with a planetary placement, its energies will have significantly changed things and usually in a very permanent manner. Pluto is associated with actual death and is usually present in some way when someone passes over. It does not always mean literal death, but it does mean that a condition or life element is no longer suitable and change is needed. Therefore it does signify the death or end of a situation and then the beginning of something new. Pluto, as mentioned, is not subtle in its release and sometimes you have opportunities to make these changes, and other times they just happen with you having little or no control over the situation. If Pluto links up with Mars or Uranus, care is required and focus on not putting yourself into danger's way is important. If there is a square between these planets, there are challenging conditions due to the contact, and they come at you for a reason. Watch for arguments and aggressive behavior especially if Mars is concerned and particularly if the aspect is an opposition. The trine and sextile aspects are not as aggressive and usually suggest transformation at a high level and although somewhat challenging to accept, these transformations will benefit you in the long haul. Uranus is more unpredictable and this is the one you need to watch, if, for example, you are driving a motorized vehicle. Operate with more care than normal and never rush. Do not rush out to drive in fits of anger or after an argument. Take the time to settle yourself down. If you are confronted by an aggressive individual, do not put up a fight unless you have little choice. It is best to walk away whenever possible under this influence. These, of course, are extreme cases and normally, there have to be other aspects suggesting much of the same before these energies are released in a powerful way. There needs to be at least 3 aspects in a chart all saying the same thing before things necessarily happen and much depends on the other planets involved and the angles they are making. However, it can be a rather tumultuous experience and you will learn a lot from it. It seems to be human nature that we learn much more from adverse life conditions than the mild and mellow experiences. We may have to spend a little time meditating on how the energies can be released in a more gentle and positive manner. With this in mind, we will provide some details for each aspect and planet. Sun in Pisces is ruled by Neptune and is the last astrological placement of the zodiac. Pisces is said to contain segments of all the signs and may be our final step in our earthly evolution. Pisceans are dreamy to those individuals who are less sensitive & prophetic in their nature. Pisceans display psychic ability and have mystical leanings. There is something far away about many Pisces individuals and they seem to intuitively sense the emotional undercurrents that surround them. Pisces This is the last astrological placement of the zodiac. Pisces is said to contain segments of all the previous signs and may be our final step in our earthly evolution, depending on the level of awareness attained in this lifetime. Pisceans are known to be dreamy to those individuals who are less sensitive and prophetic in their nature. Pisces individuals display signs of psychic ability and have mystical leanings. There is something far away about many Pisces individuals and they seem to intuitively sense the emotional undercurrents that surround them. Piscean individuals are usually very compassionate and sensitive people. They have a soft spot for anyone undergoing life’s sometimes difficult experiences. They also have concerns for the underdog and go out of their way to assist others in need. They are extremely self-sacrificing and some can become vulnerable to the harsher side of life. There are those that would take advantage of their caring nature and exploit them. As these individuals mature, they sometimes learn hard lessons from the “users” in life and eventually learn to discriminate between those that genuinely require their help and those that just take advantage of their kind heart. Those with a strong Sun in Pisces simply need to have a purpose. They need a sense of worth and a driving force to push them towards their goal of spirituality. Life's lessons are understood as being prerequisites in this journey and many will martyr themselves for the sake of others. If they become caught up in unfortunate or misleading adventures in life, some will resort to the use of alcohol and drugs to escape the hard cold facts that life can dictate. Some resort to living in an imaginary world of their own and build walls of protection so their extreme sensitivity is not invaded. Many have a creative flair and music, the arts and creative writing are just a few of the boundless areas where this magical force can be expressed. When in love, they love deeply and are considered selfless and will orientate themselves in service to others, on a high level of spirituality. When in focus with their inner journey, they feel on purpose and the intuitive side can reach mystical proportions. Many develop psychic abilities as they mature into their role in life, although some become lost in confusion. Often sparks of the imagination can run rampant if not kept under control. The imaginary qualities linked to this sign are the motivating factor behind their driving force towards a spiritual connection and their inner strength as long as they are in focus. Life’s lessons often include finding their mission, creating a sense of self-worth and a meaning to their lives that goes beyond self. Through meditation and the practice of selfless living, many will reach heights unimaginable for those on a more physical, material journey. Pisces has been linked to the purity in spirituality and we can all learn valuable life lessons through this often misunderstood sign. Astrology 101 Pisces is ruled by Neptune and the twelfth house . • Neptune

Neptune Neptune is a mysterious planet, ruling the sign Pisces. Neptune is very subtle in its nature and is known as the planet of illusion, inspiration and psychic perception. Those with a strong Neptune in their birth chart often have mystical inclinations and psychic abilities. Neptune also has an ability to deceive and colour reality placing rose coloured glasses on many individuals when in transit. Neptune also has to do with artistic abilities and inspirational writing. It has to do with musical talent and many with strong Neptune inclinations make great actors, as they are able to take on parts loosing themselves within the part that they are portraying. Neptune also rules mystery and many a mystery novel has been written through the influence of Neptune’s imaginary insight. There are the unfortunate ones who indulge in drugs and alcohol in an attempt to withdraw from some of life’s more challenging moments and during these times, Neptune is often found playing havoc in their lives. The twelfth house is the natural ruler of Pisces and Neptune is also connected with this house. The twelfth house has to do with places of confinement and often deals with institutions such as hospitals and even asylums. The twelfth house is known as the dustbin of the zodiac, and this is often the place where we cover up life’s tumultuous conditions with the hopes that in some way they will disappear and this type of action is often facilitated through the influence of Neptune. Dreams and dream psychology are also areas ruled by Neptune and someone with strong Pisces or a number of planets in aspect to Neptune can become so inclined and able to decipher the meanings behind our dreams. Although Neptune through transit often colours the way we are viewing current circumstances, it also provides us with hidden or subdued talents. Through the use of an often overextending perception, abilities can produce psychic understanding about events that we normally are not able to penetrate. Be careful to view your world clearly when Neptune passes over important points in your birth chart. Putting people on pedestals and viewing life through rose coloured glasses is often an offshoot during these unbridled times when Neptune plays games with reality. Neptune also rules doctors, psychiatrists and anyone who goes below the surface of everyday life. If you can find a way to use the penetrating abilities that Neptune offers, you can see through illusion and find the answers that might have been hidden or laid dormant for extended periods of time. Using your intuitive understanding and being open to dialogue from other sources beyond the realms of earth and material living will help you find places that you might not have known existed. Meditation techniques and mystical alignments are key ingredients to unlocking the true potential of Neptune’s deeper side and unlocking channels to the psychic connection we all share. • Sun in Taurus

Sun in Taurus Taurus As we move from the fiery sign of Aries into the earth sign of Taurus, we have pushed ourselves out there in the world and are now ready to move into a more secure life situation. Aries instigates aggressive pursuit to make something out of ourselves and Taurus now wants to instil a more sure-footed response. Taurus is all about building a foundation that can stand the test of time. This is often acquired through material means and security is often measured by the rewards offered from a bank account that is slowly but steadily rising. Taurus is security minded and uses determination and discipline to reach their objectives in life. They do not rush out there and stake their claim as Aries individuals would do. Taurus people choose a more solid structure that guarantees success. They are determined and not afraid of hard work. They understand that if this is what it takes to achieve success, then that is the route to take. They are not very spontaneous and like the tried and tested route. They quietly build on this structured ground and move forward in their quest for security. They rarely sway off the chosen path and can be counted on in any situation. In times of strife, they are usually cool-headed and ward off anything that could jeopardize their sense of security through perseverance and staying steadfast. They are very calm individuals although once they become angry, they are quite explosive and have a difficult time settling down. Taurus individuals are very fixed in their ways and also quite opinionated. Some are considered inflexible and stubborn to a fault as they have a difficult time adapting to anything new. They will stubbornly adhere to their ways of doing things. They may not be spontaneous in their decisions, but they will remain true to their word once it is given. This makes them quite reliable and responsible individuals. In loving relationships, they are faithful to their loved ones and will work hard at maintaining a meaningful relationship. They are romantics and also very sensual people. Taurus individuals will lavishly look after those they love with luxury and surround them with beauty. They are very earthy and not inclined to wanderlust activities. They prefer to remain at home as travel is not something that means a whole lot to them. They will, however, travel to keep their loved ones happy. They like structure in their life and anything new that has potential of unsettling their comfortable life can produce anxiety and worry. They like things to be predictable and steady. To uncover more meaning in life, Taurus individuals will school themselves through practical learning and formulated ideas. If this suggests long tedious tasks that require concentrated energy and an ability to keep moving in an intended direction, they can be counted on to reach this destination. Patience is a key character trait that they can rely on throughout their lives. Their motto could be “good things are worth waiting for”. Astrology 101 Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus and the second house. Sapphire is the stone of Taurus. The alternative stone is Emerald. Other stones associated with Taurus include Amblygonite, Blue Tourmaline, Carnelian, Emerald, Kunzite, Kyanite, Rhodonite, Rose Quartz, Selenite, and Variscite. Return to Sun Sign Page
