OCTOBER SOLAR ECLIPSE

October Solar Eclipse

On October 2, 2024, we will be experiencing a Solar Eclipse in the sign of Libra at 10°. 

If you have natal planets either conjunct, opposition or square to this position, primarily the Conjunction and Opposition, you will be affected by these energies, and possibly in a powerful manner depending on other transits in place at the time when this eclipse is in effect.  You can allow a 3° orb of influence, so planets between 7° and 13° of this placement in the appropriate signs will be influenced.  All major aspects will have some effect on this placement. 

A few months leading up to this timing will begin to show what has potential to manifest.  This influence can be strong for about one year, but last as long in years as the eclipse lasts in hours.  According to www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2024-october-2 the first location to see the partial eclipse begins at approximately 11:43 a.m EDT and the last place to see the partial eclipse ends at approximately 5:47 EDT.

Since this eclipse is in the sign of Libra (you always must take into consideration the sign and the house placement of any eclipse), the main influence will have to do with relationships.  This may include your spouse or significant other, close friends or business associates.  It involves fairness, justice, balancing, harmonious yearnings and perhaps making things right. 

It often encompasses new beginnings or endings and opportunities for significant change.  There is often an important shift where we must let go of what was or the past and move ahead possibly in a new direction.  Important life events are often tied to when Eclipses’ energies take hold, and again the house position will define what area of life may be involved.  Transformation and change are key characteristics of eclipses.  Sometimes it can bring unexpected change when we least anticipate it, but this change is often just what is needed in the long haul.

Transiting Mercury is closely tied to the conjunction of the Sun and Moon during this eclipse, and this suggests that the mind is closely tied to what takes place.  You may have been thinking about things for some time and now is the time for action or when action takes place.  Sometimes destiny seems to prevail and much of what takes place is beyond our control.  Things change because they need to.  Intensions play a big part in what unfolds, and goals also come into play.

Along with Transiting Mercury, we also have a Grand Water Trine with Venus (love and affection), Mars (sexual energy and drive) and Saturn (a steadying effect which can solidify things and bring stability).  The Grand Water Trine suggests emotional connections have the potential of working well and moving along nicely.  You are self-sufficient at handling any events that may unfold, and you do not depend on others to do the work necessary or to move you in the intended direction.  The emotions may be kept under wraps at this time as you know you can handle anything that may surface, and things flow without obstruction.

SATURN SEXTILE NATAL MARS

Saturn Sextile Natal Mars

Currently (September 2024) transiting Saturn is hovering in the mid degrees of Pisces. Therefore, those individuals with their Natal Mars in the mid-degrees of Taurus or Capricorn will be experiencing Saturn sextile Natal mars in their chart. 

Saturn, during this time frame, will be in retrograde until November 14, 2024 when it will be at 12° and then continue back into its forward motion.  This can have a long-lasting effect in your chart depending on the degree of your Natal Mars.

Saturn while in retrograde is much more favourable than while in its direct motion.  Saturn always suggests hard work but also builds solid foundations over time.  Saturn restricts and holds back progress and makes sure that you are doing each step correctly, one at a time. Although while in retrograde, Saturn’s energies are much more easily released in a positive manner. 

Mars on the other hand is all about push and aggressive action. You can then imagine when the two forces meet as they somewhat working against each other. 

Check the houses involved as these houses will speak directly of the areas of life involved.

The sextile implies opportunity and is considered a favourable aspect to have at any given time. Of course, you will also have to check the rest of the chart to see how this applies to you personally. 

Opportunities are at hand although some delays can be expected when it comes to professional applications and the drive needed to accomplish such tasks.  This is likely a positive time to push ahead and make some progress especially if you have felt held up in the recent past with this endeavor. 

Saturn sextile Natal Mars suggests that you use your somewhat harnessed energy creatively and make things happen.  You may have some assistance from those in authority but be sure not to miss any steps along the way.  This is an opportunity. Take advantage of it.

SUN IN LIBRA ASPECTS 2024

Libra Aspects 2024

The Sun in Libra aspects 2024 that we are about to highlight applies to those people who have their Sun in the sign of Libra at the degree of influence noted giving yourself a 5–8° orb of influence.  The planets mentioned will be allotted their appropriate degrees as of October 2024 but will change degrees as the year progresses and an ephemeris will be required to see what degrees throughout the coming year.

Transiting Mercury will join up with those with their Sun in Libra from the 26th of September to the 14th of October. Mercury will affect everyone who has their Sun in Libra at some point during Mercury’s visit in the sign of Libra. 

The conjunction of Mercury with your Sun is a powerful combination, and the thinking process particularly connected to personal plans and goals in life will be enhanced and, in many cases, understood.  This, in general, will be a good time to make sure that you move ahead with your plans as the mind is focused on these areas.  The rest of the chart always needs to be deciphered to get a clear picture of the energies in place during the Sun and Mercury application as well.

Transiting Jupiter (21° Gemini and it goes retrograde October 8) will make a trine to those with their Sun in the mid to lower degrees of Libra.  Trines carry with them easy flow, opportunities, and good luck.  This is what we wait for and especially so with Jupiter, the great benefactor of the Zodiac. 

Even when Jupiter is in retrograde motion, which it will be until February 3, 2025, going down to 11° Gemini, it will still have positive effects although you may have to work a little harder and be more diligent in how you maneuver your way forward.  Jupiter brings with it growth, good fortune, expansion and opportunities for learning.

Transiting Pluto is just entering Aquarius, although it will make a short visit back into Capricorn on September 2 through until November 19 when it moves into Aquarius to stay for many years to come. 

Pluto has to do with transformation, and often brings new beginnings because something has to come to an end as it no longer suits your growth potential or no longer serves any viable purpose.  Pluto brings about the death of one thing in order to bring new life with something else into your life. 

Pluto also makes a trine to those with their Sun in the early degrees of Libra.  Pluto moves slowly, sometimes only 1° a year so it will have a profound effect on those with the Sun at the same degrees as Pluto.  Pluto not only makes changes on the outside and affects your goals, but it will likely make changes on a personal basis.  It is best not to fight the energies of Pluto as it will make its stand and can force action when being held back. What Pluto calls for is important and will be realized.

Sun in Libra aspects 2024 involving Jupiter and Pluto have a favourable and lasting quality to those affected.  It would be wise to take advantage while they present themselves to you.  The houses will highlight the areas of life being affected which are determined by the transiting position of these planets in your natal chart.  Of course, the natal potential will need to be studied as well to be fully informed on what lies ahead and has potential to grow.
