The birth or natal chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the moment of birth with the earth in the centre.  This natal snapshot of the planets never changes. The Natal chart represents our potential and tells the story of what can be expected when transiting planets hit the positions in our birth chart.  Once the snapshot of the heavens has been taken and the position of the planets noted for our birth chart, the transit of the planets begin.

The transiting planets are the actual planets and their placement as they travel through the chart in real time.  When transiting planets touch (make aspects to) the natal planets and angles in our chart, they create temporary energies that will affect our life. The transiting planets activate the potential suggested within the natal chart.

The outer planets are slow moving and make contact to our natal planets and angles for much longer periods of time; therefore, creating major, possibly life altering changes. The inner planets, however, move much faster and their influence can be fleeting.
