The Sun, Mercury and Venus are moving into Cancer soon. Just prior to the Sun, Mercury and Venus moving into Cancer, they will be making a square to Transiting Neptune which is at 29° in the sign of Pisces.  The Sun, Mercury and Venus will be at 29° Gemini just past mid-June, 2024.  For a few days this energy will be in flux, and although vague and uncertain due to the energies of Neptune, things will begin to clear and make a trine to Neptune as time passes.  By the beginning of July, 2024, Mercury will make a Trine to Neptune as will Venus (around July 11) and then the Sun will make a Trine too around July 21/22. The difference between the Square and the Trine energies will be quite noticeable.  The Square in this case makes things uncertain and ambiguous when it comes to understanding what way to go and what is real or not real with love and affection. The Trine on the other hand opens the door to much clearer perception and understanding of these matters.  So, it will be important to wait until the air clears for those that are being impacted by these two very different energies entering their lives. Check your chart to see if you have any planets that make direct contact with this degree.  You can use up to a 5° orb of influence and the strongest connection will be the Conjunction, followed by the Square and then the Opposition aspects. Mercury always speaks of the mind and communication and deals with everyday activities.  Venus can speak of love and affection, social interaction, finances and when connected to Mercury speaks in volumes of our connectedness when it comes to open conversation, especially about our inner most communications and interchanges.  Neptune can make this time magical and inspirational, and for those so inclined, can line up with intuitive insight and imagination.  Waiting out this period before acting is advised, as mentioned. You will notice that things become much clearer as time passes.  You will then have a better idea of what route you should be taking. Opportunities that you never dreamed of can present themselves. We may initially be surprised but as time passes, you realize that this was exactly what was needed. The New Moon on June 6, 2024, will be in the sign of Gemini at 16°.  This New Moon falls in the second decant suggesting that not only is there the influence of Gemini but it also has something to do with Libra (may have something to do with relationships).  The placement of the New Moon in your natal chart will help clarify this. A new Moon’s energies speak of new beginnings, the start of something and action taking to promote the best possible outcome as it matures.  Those that put forth the required effort into this energy will reap the rewards as time passes and reach the pinnacle in approximately six months when we experience the Full Moon in Gemini. Some of us live in a very toxic environment.  We may be in regular contact with people that know nothing more than to take and take and take. This can be challenging to say the least and it may be difficult for some of us to recognize that we may even carry some of their energy. There are many individuals that are high maintenance mainly because they are not willing to do the work themselves.  It takes courage and dedication to tackle some of life’s issues, but in the end, we, ourselves, must fix our problems, and we cannot and should not rely on others.  For those that have become reliant on you to do the work for them, it may be time that you make an adjustment and let them know that they must be willing to do the work themselves, as no one else can do it for them. For those that are clinging and have become dependent on you, by stepping back you are helping them find independence. You are denying them self-reliance and the confidence that self-reliance provides. No one can do the work for others. We can only support them in their decisions and sometimes plant a seed that may guide them in a better, easier direction. If you feel drained and all of your energy is sucked out of you, you had better take some time to work on healing yourself.  You cannot feed anyone from an empty pantry. You do not help someone by giving them all the answers or trying to do their personal work for them.  You are standing in the way of their growth and recovery.  Over time, you may be creating a dependent and hurting yourself by becoming a victim.  It is not being selfish to take a break from serving others for your own sake or to break free of energy vampires that would drain you fully of your energy. Currently (June 2024), transiting Uranus is at 24° in the sign of Taurus.  It will remain in its direct cycle until September 2, 2024, when it moves into its retrograde cycle.  You can use a 5–7° orb of influence to your Natal Mercury.  You should also look at Uranus in your natal chart along with the transiting position of Uranus.  Any aspects that Natal Uranus will also have an impact along with its house position and Mercury’s Natal house position. While in its direct cycle which makes Uranus full in its expression, you can expect a disruption to what might be considered the norm.  You likely need to change on some level because things have either become dormant or you need a new direction.  Uranus will awaken you to new possibilities and push you in the direction these new avenues of expression have the potential to flourish.  It may take some time to realize the consequences of the energies, but know that after this connection, you will be exactly where you are required to be. A big part of what this sextile between Uranus and your Natal Mercury is about is mental reasoning.  The mind or focus is what this aspect is about.  An awakening is in the process of unfolding or is already in place depending on where your natal Mercury is situated in your chart by degree. Currently (May 2024) transiting Pluto is in the early degrees of Aquarius.  This post will affect those with their Mercury in the early degrees of Aries or the late degrees of Pisces. Also, it will affect individuals with their Mercury in the early degrees of Sagittarius or late degrees of Scorpio. Many will feel the energies of Pluto beginning to have an affect on their mental processing as much as 5° approaching.  Those that have already experienced this mental alignment will still have lingering effects for up to 2° after Pluto has been direct.  It may take as much as one to two years to fully understand what too place with this powerful aspect. Pluto transforms, regenerates, can cause disruption and in some cases cause mental distraction and ego intervention when it is in touch with Mercury.  Mercury rules the mind, and much will depend on how Mercury is aspected in the natal chart and in particular if associated with the planet Pluto.  It does not matter how challenging it may be in the natal chart, as difficult aspects often incur outcomes that have a profound effect later in life and generate mental activity that stimulates positive outcomes over time. Mercury sits dormant in the natal chart and needs activity from transits or progressions to become stimulated and have an influence.  Pluto will certainly stimulate Mercury and your thought process causing you to think things through with great intensity and delve deep into anything that needs surfacing. To understand what areas of life are part of this process, look to where transiting Pluto is currently located, which house natal Mercury is in and also which house Pluto rules in your natal chart. This will provide you with information as to what to expect and how you can work constructively with the energies in place. The sextile is an opportunistic aspect offering great potential to make things work favourably but often requires action from the individual who is being affected by its energies.  There may be some power struggles and ego disruption during this contact. Digging into areas that might not be all that comfortable are part of this process, but the outcome is often very productive and favourable over time.  It will change the course of your thinking, often leaving something behind for something new to emerge. Things happen for a reason (so the story goes). There is always a reason or lesson behind our experiences. Some situations are extremely unpleasant but on the other side of the coin, some situations are very pleasant, and we feel fortunate.  Perhaps it is wise not to categorize any of these situations.  Perhaps we simply need to pay attention to the lessons we are learning from any given situation. Sometimes, we make mistakes, and we are given a second chance to learn, correct or adjust and live a better experience because of it. Sometimes, life changes and there are no second chances, but likely change was what was needed and the path forward is far more beneficial than before the lesson was presented. When life goes smoothly and a fortunate situation comes our way, reflect and recognize this as an opportunity for learning or advancement or to just relax and take life in. We always have choices. With life lessons, we have the choice to let the situation or opportunity slide by and do nothing with the energy or we can make changes or adjustments and move forward doing things differently due to the lesson learned. Life is full of opportunities and advancement in many different forms.  Pay attention to what life is showing you. We are reviewing the aspects to Sun in Gemini to give a mini forecast for our Geminian readers. Today, in Sun in Gemini Aspects for 2024 Part III, we will focus on the trine from transiting Pluto to the Gemini Sun. Pluto is in the very early stages of Aquarius and will move into retrograde from September 2 until November 20 of this year.  You will have plenty of time to transform and regenerate your goals, who you are, your aspirations and objectives and learn to let go of what no longer serves you and begin anew. The trine is a favorable aspect supplying energy in a positive direction, often opening doors, and helping to move things ahead in an easy manner.  Trines are linked to good fortune, easy flow, and opportunities and should be utilized during their formation in the Zodiac regardless of what planet is involved.  The problem with trines is that the energy seems so easy that at times we just sit back and do little or nothing and waste the time and energy while it is available. We are reviewing the Sun in Gemini aspects for 2024 to give a mini forecast for our Geminian readers. We focused on the square to Neptune yesterday, May 22, 2024. www.holmastrology.com/post/sun-in-gemini-aspects-for-2024 Today, in Sun in Gemini aspects for 2024, Part II, we will focus on the square from Saturn to those with their Sun in the mid-degrees of Gemini.  Saturn moves from 19° down to 12° and is in retrograde from June 29 to November 15, 2024.  Unlike most planets in their retrograde cycle, Saturn works in a much better way and does not challenge things with as much intensity while in retrograde as it does while in its direct cycle.  In some cases, you can move ahead figuring out what you want to do during its retrograde cycle and realize that this is the time for things to unfold in a favorable fashion. Saturn tests and challenges us and often holds back progress but with the proper intentions and doing what must be done without cutting corners, it forms a solid foundation that often stands the test of time.  Saturn will restrict your plans, create obstructions, challenge your intent, and make you work hard for your results.  Your goals and aspirations may seem to be failing or are somehow being tested. In some cases, those in positions of authority, whether this be a parent (often the father) or a superior, may feel like they are holding you back and you may wonder what you must do to advance your cause.  You may even feel lost within, losing direction and a sense of self during this period.  However, when in retrograde, you might very well find the answers and plan for your next approach which may happen after the retrograde cycle or possibly even during it. (Part One) Over the next few days, we will review the Sun in Gemini aspects for 2024. Today, we will discuss the transits of Neptune. In future posts, we will also discuss the transit of Saturn, both in Pisces making a square to those with their Sun in Gemini in the late and mid degrees.  We will also discuss the transit of Pluto which will be in Aquarius from September 2 until November 20, 2024, when it goes from Aquarius back to Capricorn and then into Aquarius once again.  Those with their Sun in Gemini in the late degrees will be experiencing the trine between their Sun and Pluto. We will begin with those that have their Sun in the late degrees making a square to transiting Neptune.  Much will depend on the houses involved to know what areas of life will become activated.  The square is a challenging aspect which requires action to move through the adversity and learn the lesson at hand. With Neptune, it can be a troublesome time for clarity regarding your path as it may seem unclear, or you may feel disoriented and confused.  You may feel unsure about where life seems to be leading you and how you should be moving forward.  In some cases, it is best to ask for advice from someone you trust or alternatively, it might be better to wait until these energies have passed.  Since Neptune moves at a very slow pace, it may take some time before you feel ready to tackle what has been in place. Neptune is direct until July 2 when it goes retrograde in the last degree of Pisces.  It remains in its retrograde cycle until December 7 of this year and then returns to its direct motion.  While in the retrograde cycle, it is best to review what path you might want to follow and to wait until it becomes direct once again before taking any type of action beyond the planning stage.  The retrograde cycle is a time of reflection although you may get a clearer picture of to where you might want to move (as in action).  Things are often a little bit clearer during its retrograde cycle.  The energies of a square are challenging to say the least but irritating enough to push us into action to alleviate the circumstances.  These energies push you to move beyond the irritating force that is often brought on by the square aspect.
