Ups and Downs Maneuvering your way through life’s ups and downs takes courage and perseverance.  As you become “accustomed” to life’s lessons, you begin to find ways of to adjust and allow life’s unpredictable moments without great stress.  You become more knowledgeable through experience with these challenges (and uplifting experience) and learned ways to manage.  The experience you gain because of these difficulties helps you with your journey through this life.   You seldom truly enjoy the lessons but without them you would not have gained the insight, strength, and abilities you now have.  At some point, you begin to realize that because of these lessons, you can learn future lessons easier as well as help others simply because you have had similar experiences.    When, on the contrary, you go through periods of wonderment and joy, you learn to dance and celebrate.  You are uplifted and enjoy what these events offer.  Some feel that these are rewards for all your hard work and others believe that it is just the road you walk at that moment.  Whatever you believe, appreciate these times and experience them to the fullest.  Life is magical, if you have that attitude.   Life has its ups and downs. It is well known in Astrology that Uranus and Mars do not work well together.  Both planets can indicate sudden and erratic, aggressive actions based on the desire to create change or the need to take action because, in many cases, something is standing in our way forward.    Uranus Sextile Natal Mars The energy of Uranus and Mars together can present itself as an accident especially when working with sharp tools, equipment or faced with little to no alternatives.   When speaking of Natal Mars, the planet that is being stimulated by transiting Uranus, the houses involved will be very significant in determining what areas of life are being affected. Although aggressive action is often part of the profile, there will be lessons learned from this experience and in some cases the actions taken will move you in the direction that you need to go.  You can become awakened to the area of life that needs change, and, over time, understand why you did what you did or alternative, why situations became apparent and that these conditions are what made you do what you either had to do or will do.   Uranus always takes you where you need to go usually because the current conditions in life no longer suit your evolutionary growth or path in life.  Uranus awakens you to new horizons, pushes you to change direction or move in a new direction and stimulates action.    Mars pushes us into action and often in abrupt manners or without thought or due diligence. This rush ahead can cause misfortunes as we did not take the necessary time to weigh out our options before jumping.   In most cases, the sextile aspect (60° of separation between planets or between planets and angles in the chart) is considered a positive aspect bringing forth opportunities and with a personal push, we can gain on some level.  Most sextiles require us to act to reap rewards but, in this case, not on impulse.  Without our interaction, in most cases, nothing will materialize.   There likely will be much learned from our experience and if this aspect is approaching, being aware of the destructive or impending potential that can exist without proper preparation is important.  In some cases, a time for preparation is not taken because it happens so suddenly without warning.  However, if you do have time to prepare and digest what is in front of you, be careful. Do not operate a vehicle when angry, avoid confrontation, and don’t make hasty decisions.   Uranus sextile natal Mars has great potential if you do your due diligence and use caution. It might just be time to open the door to your own personal discovery.    Meditation can bring forth much which is otherwise hidden.  Through opening these channels, we allow a flow from outside sources and attract unseen or hidden material not available to us in the busy day-to-day mind.   Yours to Discover What you find will be personal and specific for you.  You are able to discuss what comes to you with others, and they may have had similar experiences, but your experiences are unique to you.  What becomes available is important at this moment and can help you with your understanding of your personal journey.   Any questions you may have can be answered and in turn comprehended and utilized by you. These answers will also be for the purpose of your perception that much goes on beneath the surface in life. You move along at your own pace and often gather momentum once the connection is made but you must do the work required.   You may begin to understand the why behind your experience.  You may find a deeper understanding of who you are and the gifts or tools you have brought with you to formulate the route to your destiny.   Do not listen to the mind’s chatter, especially in the beginning when it tries to stop you before you begin to go deep.  The mind wants control and will relay any type of information whether helpful or a hindrance. Go beyond the surface of your existence. Practice stilling the mind so that a much wiser process can provide you with whatever assistance you may require.   Practice and follow-through are of utmost importance.  What lies beyond the mind’s useless chatter is yours to discover. Neptune in Opposition to Natal Venus At the time this article was written (March 2025) transiting Neptune is in the sign of Pisces.  It moves into Aries for the first time on March 31, 2025 and then returns to Pisces on October 23 before moving once again into Aries on January 27, 2026, where it will remain for some 15 years.   Those that have their Venus in the last degrees of Virgo or the first degrees of Libra will have this opposition influencing their charts. Neptune in Opposition is often referred to as a challenging aspect to deal with.  The most important factor is that you must make sure that you are seeing things as they truly are.  The mind can play games with you, or in this case, the heart can play games with you as quite often Venus and Neptune speak of a love interest.   Oppositions often suggest that other people are involved with this influence. Perhaps someone (possibly female) has their hand in what is unfolding.  They could have you by the heart strings and cause some confusion about a relationship, if this is what this is about.  The houses involved will clarify the area of life being affected in your chart.   You may feel infatuated by this person and put them on a pedestal.  Once this aspect passes, you will have a much clearer picture of what this relationship entails and what the person is really like.  This is not to say that you are not seeing this person clearly, only that there is often a tendency for that to happen.  Other factors in the chart might prove otherwise. “Are you falling in love?”, or “Does this relationship seem too good to be true?” are questions you might want to ask yourself.   Since Venus can be about love and affection, the social scene and/or finances, these areas will or might also be part of the picture.  You may find that under this influence you are invited to more social gatherings where you will meet up with other individuals that often have something that will entice you or be brought to your attention.    If finances are involved, once again, a deal you are presented with might seems too good to be true and this just might be true. Again, the whole chart will tell the story, and the natal potential will have to be reviewed.    With Neptune in opposition to natal Venus, others will likely be involved. Make sure you see things clearly before acting. It’s important to have a look at who we are from time to time.  These reviews often open doors to realizations and hidden matters.  Sometimes what comes to the surface is not all that pleasant, while at other times we are blessed with the realization that we are moving forward and growing exponentially.    Have you taken the time to do a little self-study?   If so, what have you learned about yourself?   Internal Review If you look deep enough, you will find that you have been making progress.  Just the fact that you are reviewing your life speaks about progress.    If you like what you see, amplify these qualities or abilities and share them.   You may have to work hard to find any given piece of the puzzle but once you have mastered this piece, there are rewards.   How is your growth beneficial and what can you do to bring more of this forward into your life?    How has it built you into the person you are now and what path will now open because of the steps you have taken?   Always be honest with yourself.  No matter what you find, do something about or with it.  There is a reason that this has surfaced. Realize that it might be time to use what has surfaced or pass on the information so that others can benefit from it as well.    Enjoy your progress after your internal review. Don’t limit yourself. There is always more to do.  Find your natural skills, use the path forward and advance. Uranus Opposition Natal Saturn This article is a good general read for Uranus opposition Natal Saturn. However, to go a little more specific for our current signs affecting Uranus and Saturn, Uranus will remain in the sign of Taurus until July, 2025. As a result, currently Uranus Opposition will specifically affect those who have Saturn in Scorpio in the later degrees to make the opposition.  Saturn was transiting through Scorpio from 1953 to 1956, 1982 to 1985, and 2012 to 2015.  It went into retrograde during these time frames so you will have to check your ephemeris or chart to see if this post applies to you.  Uranus can be felt 5-7° approaching and up to 2° separating but will be the strongest when it is direct (at the exact degree).   Those individuals that have Saturn in Scorpio in their astrology birth chart will be deep and reflective, may have some challenges when it comes to revealing the significance of the psychic realm especially in personal terms, and will likely have to work hard to uncover and deal with any taboo subjects that they may identify with, especially from an internal perspective.   Now to more general information for Uranus opposition Natal Saturn, Uranus brings about change and can work in disruptive manners, sudden and often unexpectedly, but it offers an understanding of what frequently stands in the way of moving in a new direction.  In this particular case, with Uranus being in Opposition to our Natal Saturn, the need for change may be stimulated from outside of oneself.  Others may be the reason behind the need for change and there may be some disruptive forces that seem to prevail likely to force change on us.   Much will depend on the astrological houses involved.  For example, if your Natal Saturn is in the second house, security and finances are something that you need to work on and in this case, it could be Uranus (which would be in the eighth house) bringing change because someone that you depended on has deceased or left your life. Now you may be seeking alimony, must look deeply into shared resources or could be part of a settlement through inheritance where perhaps family members are causing disruption.   If Saturn is in the fourth house, then the home and family may be affected. Perhaps your early upbringing was difficult and the family that you grew up with (which may have been strict or restrictive in some way) now is seeing changes due to status, your life’s path, your career being adjusted, or your goals and aspirations now going through some changes.  This can apply to the home and family you have created as well. Much will depend on your age.    If you are in your late 60’s, this may relate to your parents. If you are in your 40’s, this may involve your current home and there being some challenges because of changes taking place at work. If we are speaking of a young person roughly 10 to 13 years old, this may mean that your family is moving and those that you are comfortable with, especially your friends, are now going to be out of reach or further away than you might wish them to be.    With Uranus opposition natal Saturn, change is often part of the current process. How are your living conditions?   Living Conditions Different parts of our world are living under very dramatic conditions.  There are uncontrolled wildfires, droughts and famine, war and oppression. There are extreme weather conditions. There are many other influences taking hold in people’s lives, some of their own making, and some strictly from outside influences.   Perhaps it’s time we have a little closer look at our own lives!  We become so accustomed to our conditions that we can take them for granted and even complain about the good in our lives. Perhaps, we could stop complaining and put what is happening in our own lives into perspective. In many cases, those of us reading this article have it far better than most others in our world.  Some in our own community do not have a roof over their heads or steady food in their bellies, and as mentioned, this could unknowingly be our neighbours.   Compare your living conditions to others living in our world. Perhaps we can pay more attention to the good in our lives and acknowledge that in many cases our complaints are minor, and we live a good life.   Look around you.  Can you help?    IT IS TIME to be grateful.  It is time to take a closer look.  When we put our circumstances into perspective, we may realize our lives are not as bad as our mind makes them out to be.  Life is full of little miracles. Pisces New Moon 2025 On February 28, 2025, we will be graced with a New Moon in the sign of Pisces at 9°.  This New Moon makes a Trine to Mars which is at 6° Cancer and also makes a Square to Jupiter at 11° Gemini.   A New Moon takes place when the Sun and Moon are conjunct. The house that is being affected by this placement and the sign that it takes place in will be important to delineating its energies.  These placements speak about how energy will reveal itself, determined by the sign, and in what area of life which is determined by the astrology chart’s house where the sun and moon are located.   For this placement to have an influence in your life, you will need to have planets or angles within 3° of this placement either by Conjunction, Opposition, Square, Trine and Sextile, with the first three aspects having the greatest impact. The tighter the orb the stronger its influence.   New Moon’s mark the beginning or the start of events or the push towards either an achievement or an area of life that matters to you at this point in your life.  In approximately six months from now, when the Full Moon is in the same sign (Pisces in this case), the culmination of what began now during the New Moon will reach maturity if the necessary work has been carried out.  Whatever effort we put into making things happen will be reflected in the fruits of our labor.  Now is the time to plant seeds in the garden of life.   This Pisces New Moon will likely have something to do with emotions and sensitivity and may be tied somehow to the gifting of our time and efforts.  It may be attached to intuition or an inner knowing and sometimes fear and anxiety can be a part of this due to our concern about how things will work out.  There may be insight and an awareness that stems from within which may be tied to the spiritual or psychic realms or our creative nature.    If the Square from Jupiter has other indicators in the natal chart that might hinder the effects of this New Moon and the aspects to it then the foreseen outcome may be exaggerated.  However, if there are few tight challenging aspects within the framework of the birth chart then Jupiter, being of greater benefit, can enhance things and work well in your efforts.  (Squares or Oppositions from the outer planets to natal positions can suggest difficulties, while Trines and Sextiles can indicate easy flow and opportunities.)   The Trine from Mars pushes us into action and offers easy flow and potential gain from our efforts.  Mars is always about energy, in some cases directed energy and in other cases an energy push from outside sources.  The Trine aspect suggests that the actions taken during this phase will likely be optimistically received.   Plant emotional, compassionate and/or psychic/spiritual seeds in the garden of life during the Pisces New Moon 2025. We continue with our look at the New Moon in the sign of Pisces at 9°.  See www.holmastrology.com/post/pisces-new-moon-2025 .   Astrological houses and their effect on the Pisces New Moon Today, we will focus on some of the houses where this New Moon may be located in our Natal chart and how the house energy will influence the New Moon’s energies.  Check your chart to confirm where the Pisces New Moon is located.   If the New Moon in found in the first house, this suggests something of a personal nature which affects us emotionally, especially if this placement also incorporates the Natal Moon which will enhance the already intense nature of this positioning. It may affect your health and likely in a more positive manner.  Because Mars is part of the equation (again please read our previous post for details), you may feel more energized and may start something such as an exercise program that will help vitalize you.  This may be quite vigorous or intense and could involve martial arts, weightlifting, etc.   In the third house, this may indicate that perhaps you begin a writing or reading project.  Perhaps you decide that it is finally time to put your thoughts into words and start to write a book.  This will likely take some time to put together and change the course of your everyday activities.  Perhaps siblings and/or schooling are involved on some level.  One thing is for certain, it will involve communication and learning one way or another.  If Mercury is part of the interlinking energies, this will be enhanced, but if Saturn is part of the process, things may be delayed or obstructed in some way and often hard work is implied.   If the fifth house is involved, this may have something to do with your children, or you may be starting a new romance.  Having more fun and the enjoyment of life will be enhanced if Venus is involved as well as love and affection and perhaps attending to more socializing events.  This can be the time for your heart to grow through love and romance, but this placement does not guarantee that the relationship, if this is what is taking hold, will become one that moves into a marriage type experience. It may be just for the moment, but you should enjoy one another and know it is in the moment that counts.   We will look at one last possible placement.  Let’s say that this New Moon is in the tenth house, the house of career, goals and life status. If so, then these areas may be affected.  The tenth house may indicate that with a strong push to achieve you can make yourself known to your superiors for your hard work and a genuine concern for those around you, especially if the sixth house ruler or planets within this house are affecting your New Moon’s positioning.  Your goals and aspirations may also be highlighted and perhaps because of an engagement or marriage, especially if the ruler of the seventh house or planets within the seventh house also play a part in what is taking place, your status is changing.  Others may notice and you may gain recognition in some manner if positive energies are in place.  This is a good time to reach your objectives and push for good results.   (Let’s not forget to incorporate the energies of Mars being Trine and Jupiter being Square into all the above indicators as they can have a profound effect as well.)    I hope this review has shown the importance of the astrological houses and their effect on the Pisces New Moon and on any other event taking place in the astrology chart for that matter. In some cases, memories can bring a sense of comfort and relief, and in other cases, memories can be a source of pain and anxiety.    What do you want to hang on to and what do you want to leave behind?   What does your new start entail and what will it bring?    Some of us fear change while others relish change.  Fear is a result of the unknown and expectations and in most cases, what we worry about never surfaces.    A New Start Perhaps, it’s best not to be overly concerned about what lies ahead (our destination) and focus on the journey itself.  Anticipation, fear and anxiety are not the ideal travel partners.   When we start a new journey, that new journey is required or we wouldn’t have taken the first step to begin it. This may not always be evident to everyone but that is how life works.  We move along at our own speed and people, life lessons, experiences, etc. come and go as they are needed.   A new start can bring opportunities for growth or advancement and put you in line for unexpected events that will bring you much joy, excitement and growth.    If we feel it is time for a new journey, it IS time! Allow for growth even if it is uncomfortable. See and experience what life wants to teach us.    The beauty of the unknown awaits. Plan a new start and allow life to be an interesting adventure. There’s beauty at every turn and insight along every path. Once you have done your due diligence, follow through with commitment and refuse to compromise.  As the saying goes, “Stick to One’s Guns”!    We often make resolutions at the beginning of a New Year but few of us actually carry through.  We make a decision, but something comes along, and it just seems too difficult to continue, or we get sidetracked.   Refuse to Compromise There are many excuses from “It’s too hard”, “I will surly fail”, “It’s not how I hoped it would be”, “it doesn’t really matter”, “I don’t have a problem”, and the list goes on and on.  More often than not, there are roadblocks to success, but most of these roadblocks stem from our mind. Our mind manufactures the excuse, and we follow blindly.   The resolution (or call it whatever you like) must be attainable, and you have to weigh this out in the planning process. You push yourself in the beginning but when the going gets tough, you give up. Is this laziness?   In reality, you hold yourself back by accepting the mind’s excuses (better known as empty chatter). Make a real commitment to your goals and take one step at a time.  It is not a race, it is a journey.   If your mind gives you an excuse to quit, ask it why? If it gives one of its ridiculous excuses, counter that excuse with a positive reason to continue. You are NOT your mind!   The old say goes, “nothing worth having comes easy”.  For every thought that stands in the way, there is a positive thought that helps you to achieve what you set out to do.    Do not give up. Believe in yourself! Remind yourself to do your best. If you stumble, get right back up and step forward again. Why would you want to stay down?   After the first success, reaching the next goal will come a little easier because you will now have more confidence.  Refuse to compromise.  Stick to your guns.
