On May 23, 2024, we will be experiencing the Full Moon in the sign of Sagittarius at 2° at 9:53 a.m. EDT. Those individuals that have planets especially by conjunction or opposition to this placement in their natal charts will be affected by this, the Sagittarius Full Moon.  You can give yourself a 3° orb of influence so planets 0° to 4 ° in Sagittarius or 0 to 4° in Gemini and back to the 29 ° of Taurus and Scorpio will have an impact. This Full Moon brings to focus the higher principles of life.  It can deal with your life’s philosophy, your religious outlook, your spiritual beliefs and the education of life that begins with your attitude about what the plan is for you.  The house position along with the planets or angles in question will play significant roles with the energies available.  The house positions, as the Full Moon has the Sun and Moon in opposition, will determine the areas of life involved and the planetary energies or the angle (if this is part of the picture) will combine and enhance the equation. The Full Moon speaks about what began approximately 6 months ago and is now reaching its culmination point.  What started at that time, depending on the efforts used will now either enhance your life or will need to be revised or let go of in order for your to advance in life. Plute, the planet of regeneration and transformation, is in the sign of Aquarius and currently (May 2024) is around 2°, making a sextile to the positioning of the Full Moon.  Pluto is currently in its retrograde cycle and turns direct on October 12, 2024.  During its retrograde cycle, Pluto’s energies are not working to their full capacity.  After the October date when Plut turns direct again, its energies are working to their full capacity.  During the retrograde cycle, this may be a time of regeneration but may be from a deep and personal perspective.  Once it goes direct, this may be the time when you begin to see how your life was transformed and what Pluto’s objectives might have been. The emotional makeup is part of the picture, and with a Sagittarius perspective, you might believe or work towards making things better and there is a potential that you will find what you are wanting to find.  Sagittarius is very optimistic in its approach to life and looks to expand and make things better over time by looking at things from a realistic approach and knowing that the mind’s focus is of extreme importance. We normally do not write too much about the transits of the inner planets due to their short-lived effects, but the current inner planet transits are of interest to those with their Sun in the early degrees of Gemini or in the late degrees of Taurus. On May 18, the Sun and Jupiter align as do Venus and Uranus.  This sounds very positive.  The Sun and Jupiter together suggest growth and added potential especially related to goals and aspirations.  In many ways this alignment, which by the way is a conjunction, is the most powerful of the aspects, and places great emphasis on our inner journey and what we have learned thus far and in particular as of late.  Although short lived, it should prove to be an expansive, energetic time for those experiencing these configurations in their chart.  This formation is in place for the duration of May 15 to the 25 of 2024. On May 20, the Sun moves into the sign of Gemini, and we posted on this yesterday www.holmastrology.com/post/sun-in-gemini-4 and we will follow with Gemini’s 2024 transits in the next few Astrology posts.  It will be in effect along with the Conjunction of the Sun/Jupiter alignment just discussed.  Take into close consideration where this positioning takes place in your chart if you have a planet or angle near these degrees.  The house or angle will define the areas of life involved. We will also be having a Full Moon on May 23.  Full Moon energies’ are an indication of the end of the work carried forward prior to this energy.  It is known as the culmination point and the harvest of the efforts put into whatever was started some six months ago when the New Moon was in the same sign.  As usual, we will also be writing a post on the emphasis of the Full Moon’s position in an upcoming post next week. During this same period, Venus and Jupiter will linked up creating a conjunction at 29° of Taurus.  Together, Venus and Jupiter often indicate a time of fortunate conditions and favorable outcomes.  Love and affection may be part of the picture and a time of sharing life with others is also indicated.  Check to see this position in your natal chart if you have planets coming into play in the 29° of Taurus or in close proximity thereto. One thing that we didn’t mention earlier with the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter on May 18, this often suggests that the unexpected can unfold moving you in a direction that is proper for your evolution and life’s path.  It can be under unusual circumstances and may come out of nowhere.  Expect the unexpected. Finally, Jupiter also enters Gemini on May 26.  This is quite the favorable positioning as well.  It speaks of growth, higher education on some level, if not through the schooling of life, then through actual continued education.  This is a time of great learning and expansion.  If aligned with the Sun or natal Jupiter or even the Ascendant, it can speak of vital growth and healthier conditions.  Much of course will be determined by the natal potential found in the birth chart.  The Natal chart must always be taken into consideration as it is an outline of our life’s path and our most inner evolution along with many other important factors.  A natal chart is the first step in understanding our stay here on earth. The Sun moves from Taurus, a fixed earth sign, into Gemini, a mutable air sign, on May 20, 2024.  Gemini is said to be one of the most curious signs of the Zodiac.  It is naturally ruled by Mercury, the planet of the mind, and these individuals need constant mental stimulation for life to have meaning to them.  They get bored easily and as children need constant attention or many toys to capture their attention. I quote the Beatles “Well, you know, we all want to change the world”. Most changes should begin with ourself. Changes stem from the inside and then radiate outward.  You can begin then by changing your personal world. What needs to change? Begin by taking responsibility in your life (this is not to say that others are not part of the solution or part of the problem). You are the one that can make things happen, so what are you going to do? We don’t need more violence or destruction to initiate change.  We can do it peacefully through our hearts. We do not need aggression, but we may need assertiveness and action. Begin with what you need to do on a personal basis. Do not believe that you cannot make a personal positive change. Do not resist making change just because it will not be easy. Take a close look at yourself (without knowledge, we are ignorant and ignorance breeds complacency). Make changes for the better. You don’t have to be in a hurry. Move slowly or appropriately in a positive direction. Be true to yourself and your beliefs. Speak the truth, but say it with compassion, with conviction and without faltering. The sextile aspect is known to bring compatibility and harmony. The sextile from Saturn to Mercury is not always about opportunities and easy flow.  Saturn is connected to struggles, lessons, obstacles, a slowing in action, concerns and worries about doing things correctly. Even with this positive sextile aspect, there will be struggles tied to opportunities that may come your way. Opportunities for learning and understanding are available with Saturn sextile Natal Mercury but not without some lessons along the way.  Perhaps an opportunity presents itself to assist in furthering your education or you need to make a presentation to someone in authority. You have done your due diligence, and you are ready to move forward, but there may be postponements or setbacks due to unforeseen circumstances that delay the process. If you have truly done all your homework and know what you want and how to advance, and you have not taken any shortcuts, then that opportunity might still be available.  You cannot cut any corners, or you will fall short. What will you leave behind when you pass? How will you be remembered? Will these questions matter when we are ready to pass over? Goals and ambitions are potentially reachable.  They can be relevant and serve a purpose for the time being.  They can bring you satisfaction and a feeling of contentment or provide a feeling of pride. Neptune, the planet of illusion, fogginess, disillusionment, as well as transferrable insight, mystical alignment, vision, and psychic intuition, in square often brings forth vague or ambiguous insight.  This is a time when clarity is certainly not at its peak, and we need to be informed usually by others what exactly is transpiring in our lives. There is a common belief that things happen for a reason.  We may, however, struggle to understand the why behind the circumstances at times.  We try desperately to find meaning behind experiences and lessons. Situations in life can drastically change our path and our future does not materialize as we thought it would. The why is not always obvious. We may not understand why things happened but that does not mean there is no meaning.  Sometimes, but not always, after the fact, we begin to understand a little more clearly why life went the way it did. There are times we just need to role with the punches and accept the new twist in our path and at the same time believe that on some level it will take us to where we eventually need to go. Change can be difficult, but the outcome usually puts us in a better place when the upheaval is over. We can become stagnant in life but are comfortable in our stagnation, so we do not work for anything better.  Life then throws us a curve ball to get us moving, something we cannot ignore and from this curve ball comes change that brings us to a much more fulfilling place in life. What appears to be one of the most dire situations in life can bring about wonderful opportunities or perfect situations we never thought possible, but we may not recognize it as such in the beginning. We must accept where life leads us. Certainly, question and review life’s turning points. There is meaning behind every event.  We can choose to adjust, or we can choose to struggle. It is a choice. On May 7, 2024, we will be experiencing a very favorable New Moon placement especially for those with planets either in conjunction or in opposition to this Taurus placement by no more than 3°.  The energies of a New Moon signal a new beginning where we plant the seeds we want to grow in our garden of life.  It is the beginning of something that you might have been working towards or the start of something brand new.  Either way, it signals something new is ready to take its first steps. This New Moon is in the sign of Taurus at 28° and will affect those with planets or one of the four angles from 25° of either Taurus or Scorpio to 1° of either Gemini or Sagittarius.  These are the placements of the conjunction and opposition.  Those with the square and sextile along with the trine may also experience a similar influence but likely not as powerful. This is a time to initiate something that will come to its fruition some six months down the road when we are experiencing the full Moon in Taurus (November 15, 2024).  The Full Moon in Taurus will be the harvest of what has taken hold now and what you do during the next six months will tell the story of how things look at that time. We must nurture seeds to bring them to fruition. In Taurus, the new moon speaks about creating something that stands the test of time, something that will build and grow and offer security on some level.  This has something to do with reliability and a steadfast approach. It is understood that it will take time to bring these energies into fruition and at the same time, understood that it will take hard work and a disciplined effort too.  You cannot become complacent and the effort you put forward is a direct indicator of the results you will experience.  If you don’t work hard towards an end result, you will likely need to either reevaluate or let go come the Taurus Full Moon. The reason behind this push for hard work is that these energies have potential and are likely favorable. This is indicated by the placement of the New Moon which is sextile to Mars and Neptune. Mars is in the early stages of Aries and Neptune the late stages of Pisces.  Mars has to do with drive and ambition and is highly suggestive of the ability to really push forward with your objectives.  It is like a relentless force pushing you towards your goals and opportunities that are in front of you.  Neptune has to do with psychic perception and the potential of dreams becoming reality.  This is a gentle force where love and affection can be part of the picture, but insight is strong and a willingness to serve a higher purpose is part of the picture.  Together these indicators can assist in moving ahead, and because of the sextile, there is a suggestion of opportunities that are waiting but must be pursued if your wish is to make things happen. There is also a trine from Transiting Pluto which is at the early degrees of Aquarius. Pluto is all about transformations and an indication that something is ending and that something new is on the horizon.  Pluto often suggests that there may have been power struggles and challenging situations along the way, but the trine suggests that the energies associated with this powerful force for change is in place and that it will take some time for you to completely see where this energy takes you. Know that something must be left behind for something new to begin and there are no halfway measures about what lies ahead.  The trine suggests easy flow and good fortune as well as opportunities at hand but expect some difficulties along the way especially if you are unwilling to let go of what has been in place previously. We all walk the road of life together.  Even those that feel as though they are alone in life, share it one way or another. We are never alone, and even in the darkest moments, someone stands by your side.  Know this and hold it close to your heart. Sometimes our lessons pull us away from the familiar into new circumstances; and other times, we are taught to revamp what we know. We seldom know what comes next, but it is important not to anticipate the worst. Far too often we become depressed with what has taken place and because of this, our mind walks down the road of worry, anxiety and despair. So often, the bleakest of circumstances are the pivoting moments to a future far better than we could have anticipated. Change, whether for the better or what seems to be a bleak future, can be stressful but also temporary. Always think carefully before you act or make decisions to move forward. The decisions you make today will affect your tomorrows. Never give up. Change is guaranteed in life. It may be swift; it may take time. Process your feelings and actions. When the lesson is learned, the door will open to the new. Be ready to step forward. Transiting Jupiter moves approximately 1° every five days, so its impact, giving a 5° approaching orb and a 2° separating orb, will be approximately one month.  If it goes retrograde, this period can last longer.  Jupiter goes retrograde for approximately four months moving about 10°.  While in retrograde, quite often we will gain increased recognition and some luck in obtaining benefits.  While direct, its energies are more rewarding and it provides growth, expansion and general good luck. Jupiter sextile Natal Ascendant promotes a general feeling of good luck.  It feels like a lucky time and often opportunities flow in your direction.  This is often quite personal but may also involve those close to you, especially important relationships.  Opportunities are at hand but in many cases, we just feel lucky and do not necessarily do too much to help things happen.  We feel that if we just go with the flow good things are likely to happen, and you might just be right, but sextiles want you to push ahead to achieve what you want. On April 23, 2024 at 7:48 p.m. EDT, we will experience the energies of a Full Moon in the sign of Scorpio at 4°. The Moon in Scorpio is in its fall position suggesting, although you will need to look at the natal aspects to your Moon for further ramification, that this is not an easy position for the energies of the Full Moon.  There may be some struggles attached to this energy. The energies will only be strong for those who have a planet or an angle either in conjunction to this position or in opposition to this position. Full Moon in the sign of Scorpio may indicate something of a challenging situation connected to sex, anger, disputes, ego interchange and a need to go deep within to find a resolution to a situation which likely began some six months ago when we had a New Moon in the sign of Scorpio.  This energy, which many experience shortly prior to the exact Full Moon timing, can be tumultuous and indicate a culmination of what has been in place.  Again, it is time to reap the harvest of what took place some six months ago. Changes are likely in store. This positioning is square to Transiting Pluto, so it speaks of something ending in order for something new to begin.  In many cases, people tend to swim upstream and fight the current of change which creates more disruption to what was in place. Once this change has taken place, down the road, we will realize we are right where we need to be. In many cases, there are no halfway measures with Pluto’s energies, and substantial transformation is at hand.  This may take some time to take in but again, it is taking you to where you need to go.  Some of the steps along the way may not be overly pleasant but what was in place no longer suits your new place in life.
