What are the possibilities? Do you acknowledge the significance of mind control and focus, knowing that positive energies manifest as do negative energies?    Focus, belief structure and expectations are the keys to building on possibilities in your life.  Look for red cars on the road and suddenly you notice more red cars than you did prior to deciding to carry out this focus exercise.   Look at or focus on how life seems to have a negative influence, and you will begin to see how challenging and negative life has been.  Prior to focusing your energies on any direction, nothing stands out unless you decide to place your focus somewhere specific.   If you truly begin to believe in this concept and start using it to your benefit, life begins to shift.  You still have moments of discomfort, sadness, or anxiety, but as time passes, you will notice a shift in a different direction simply because of your focus.  The challenges that seemed so overwhelming, no longer seem as prevalent and are much more short lived.  You will notice more favorable events although in reality the number may still be the same. Your focus makes you pay attention to the positive outcomes when they take place in your life.  It is about awareness!   It takes time to make this shift, but it is never too late to begin. You will still experience challenging lessons, but they won’t seem as overwhelming.  Do not expect a dramatic, immediate change. Be patient and develop good, new habits and the change will follow along. You WILL learn patience because this does not happen overnight. It has taken you a lifetime to get to where you are now.    One thing is for certain, you can’t allow your mind to hinder your progress. It will try!  It may feel as though the mind or thought process is being taken over and wants to regain control.  Remember, you are not your thoughts, you are the one listening to them.  This is not to say that your thoughts are not your own; of course they are! You, however, can decide which ones you wish to focus your attention on and which ones you allow to let go.  Do not own them!   Give yourself this year to make the change.  Do not give up or give in.  You owe it to yourself to find peace and contentment, to find positivity, wonder and appreciation.    The world around you will continue down its path, although your focus will alter your inner world. On February 1, 2026, we will experience a Full Moon in the sign of Leo at 13°.    With a Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are always in Opposition with one another.  It represents the final stages of the energies that began approximately six months earlier when we experienced the New Moon in the same sign (in this case, the Leo new moon on July 24, 2025).    Leo Full Moon 2026 Again, this Leo Full Moon is the culmination point of our efforts on our goal since the Leo New Moon. If we did not do the required work, which we knew on some level was what was needed over this period, we likely will fall short of this goal. We now reap the rewards of our efforts.   The area of life affected would have been determined by the house positions influenced in your personal chart at the time.  The energies related to the sign (Leo) and aspects at the time will also play an important role in this determination.   If we were to have approached the New Moon sign in Leo by taking control of a situation and doing what we thought was best at the time, we will now reap the rewards of these actions.   An example might be the New Moon being in the first house suggesting that we had to do what was best for us.  This might have had something to do with a close personal relationship.  We might have felt that we needed to move in a direction that, at the time, suited the individual involved. On some level, however, we might have felt responsible for that person (due to the Leo influence). We would also have known that it was important to think of our own needs as well (because of the first house influence which is naturally ruled by Aries in our example).  Other observers may have felt that we were being selfish, but we knew that our needs were to come first and hopefully this is what was acted upon.   When we look at our charts for the Full Moon’s position, it is important to realize that if we do not have planets or angles near its position, we may not be affected too much by its energies. In some cases, when there are no major aspects within a three-degree orb of this placement (13° Leo in this instance), either by Conjunction or Opposition in particular, we will not feel much energy related to this position in our lives.  The other Major aspects (Square, Trine, Sextile) will influence this position if in a close orb, but the influence will not be as powerful as the Conjunction and Opposition.    The Transits at the time of this Leo Full Moon by aspect and within the three-degree orb will influence this Full Moon and how its energies unfolds (as well as the sign and house position in your chart).  In this case, Venus and Mars, although out of orb, may still have a minor impact on what this Full Moon provides.  Venus’ energies influence love and affection or finances and Mars’ energies influence action and the need to push forward.  If they connect to an angle or other planet in the Natal Chart by aspect, they will influence the energies already in place.   The Leo Full Moon 2026 will provide you with the fruits of your efforts over the past six months.  This harvest is likely involving self expression, creativity and the need to help. It is important to work toward resolution for any issues resulting from conflict.    It is unhealthy emotionally, mentally and physically to leave conflict unresolved. Work towards resolution with anything that stresses us. If you can’t do it for someone else, do it for you.   Working Toward A Resolution Stepping forward to sort out issues can be a very difficult step to take but it is the most beneficial one in the long run.   Perhaps you feel as though the resolution is out of your hands or the past suggests that your efforts will go unnoticed or fall short of what is required. The sun went into Aquarius on or about January 19, 2026, locally.  See our articles https://www.holmastrology.com/post/sun-in-aquarius-2026 for more details.   Sun in Aquarius Aspects 2026 Today, we are going to take a quick look at the transit of planets that will aspect the Sun in Aquarius in 2026, a mini forecast for Aquarius, if you will.   When we look at aspects to the Sun, we usually look at the outer planets because they have a profound long-lasting influence due to their slow movement unlike the fast-moving inner planets.  Pluto and Neptune, for example, can have an influence up to and including 3 years as they approach and leave the orb of influence. The orb of influence is about 3° approaching and 2° separating.  Those that are highly attuned to these planetary energies can feel the effects much longer, sometimes lasting 5 years or more in total.   Transiting Pluto is in the early stages of Aquarius, and in 2026 will only move as far as 4° Aquarius.    Transiting Neptune is in the early degrees of Aries and will only reach 4° of Aries during 2026.    Transiting Uranus is in the late degrees of Taurus but will reach Gemini and remain in Gemini from April 26, 2026 forward.  Uranus takes approximately 7 years to move through a sign.    Transiting Saturn can also affect the Sun, and it moves into Aries and conjoins Neptune in February/March, 2026 and will move as far as 8° Aries by the end of 2026.  Saturn takes about 2 ½ years to move through a sign.   Since we try to keep our posts relatively short, we will only touch on the effects of Pluto and Uranus on the Aquarius Sun.  To be affected by these planets, your Aquarius Sun would need to be in the early degrees of Aquarius, allowing for each orb of influence.  It should be mentioned that all of the outer planets are in favorable placements.  Uranus is making a Trine, Saturn and Neptune are making a Sextile and Pluto is making a Conjunction which is the most powerful of major aspects. The Conjunction can be a challenging aspect, but much will depend on what the potential is as suggested in the natal chart.   The Sun is the core of our identity.  The sign placement and house placement define who we are and our purpose in life, at least in part. The Sun helps us define our life’s purpose and creative life force and is linked to our vitality.  It is the driving force behind our personality linked with the Ascendant.  The sun sign is self-directed.  The Sun has to do with our goals in life, and our purpose as mentioned which is also tied closely with our Moon’s Nodes. With this in mind, let’s proceed.   Pluto which is Conjunct those with their Sun in the early degrees of Aquarius is a powerful planet connected to transformation and regeneration.  It holds significant energy in its expression.  Pluto often works beneath the surface and brings things to life that are long overdue.  There is usually a period of deep reflection, and the shedding of unwanted and unnecessary elements. Are you caught up in doom and gloom?    Do you want to stay where your mind is living (your focus)?   Many people have mentioned they feel lost and overwhelmed due to outside sources.  Many are overwhelmed by the current financial environment of uncertainty.   Everyone faces hurdles, some obvious, some not so obvious.  Life holds many experiences.   We have options available to us to relieve the challenges of everyday life.  All things in life are temporary. Absolutely nothing is permanent. Change is guaranteed.  We must learn to act when we can and accept when change is out of our hands.   The most important act we can take is to examine our focus or attitude towards any given event.  We have talked about this many times, but it is so important, we MUST repeat it!  If you are dealing with something causing anxiety and worry, you have to step back and look at it from a clear, unemotional perspective.  What can you change, especially, how can you change your attitude towards this life lesson?   It is not an easy task to shift our thoughts and expectations, but we are all capable of making the adjustments necessary to ease the tensions being felt.   Shift your focus to the great things in your life, whatever they may be (no matter how big or how small).  Release your focus on what is missing; focus on gratitude.  Don’t ignore the life lesson as the lesson is there to be learned.  If we ignore it, it will only heighten the circumstances as we cannot escape these lessons. We can’t hide our heads in the sand.  We must face the situation head on dealing with it in a constructive manner and not get caught up in believing that it will not go away or that we cannot fix the problem.   If we see the positive, we feel the positive.  If we focus on negativity, all we experience is negativity.  It takes work.  We are not suggesting that this will come easy, but refocusing is similar to a muscle.  Keep exercising it and watch is strengthen.  Be persistent.  Do not give up or give in.  Be determined! Dig in your heels!    It has taken years to develop your attitude, it will take effort to change it.  You can do this!   Find resolution by looking within first.  Is your attitude your greatest source of anxiety? Today, January 21, 2026, the Sun moves from Capricorn, a cardinal, earth sign, into Aquarius, a fixed, air sign.    Transiting Pluto has been in the sign of Aquarius since early 2024 and drifted back into Capricorn until November 20, 2024, when it finally took up full time residence in Aquarius and will remain for many years to come.   Pluto will have a profound effect on those with their Sun in the early degrees of Aquarius for all of 2026 and all of 2027 and remains in Aquarius as mentioned for many years.  Pluto is the agent of transformation. The ruling planet of Aquarius is Uranus, which is also quite the agent for change, so our Sun in Aquarius followers will be in for dynamic changes in their own personal journey.    Sun in Aquarius Sun in Aquarius can expect changes in how they define their journey, who they are, and their action plans and they may do so in vibrant ways; in some cases unexpectedly, or suddenly and quite uncommon for their character. Aquarius, however, are known for their desire to walk the road of their choice with their eccentricities and their uniqueness. Our achievements or lack thereof are based on our personal definition of achievement. To one person, the very act of taking the first step towards a goal is achievement and to another person, achievement is crossing the finish line of their goals.   We must prioritize our goals.  You must first ask yourself how important each goal is to you.  How much effort are you willing to put into each goal?   Review Last Year's Achievements When we reflect on our achievements, bear in mind their priority to you. A half-hearted effort will achieve a less than perfect outcome.  If you gave it a half-hearted effort, it cannot have been that high on your priority list.   If you achieved what you set out to do, congratulations on your effort. It is important to give yourself recognition for your effort.  If you fell short of what you wanted to accomplish, examine why. If it is important, set a new plan for yourself to achieve this goal.  If it is not very important, maybe it’s time to let it go and move on.    Internal dialogue is extremely important. Do not allow yourself to wallow in self-pity if you fall short.  Your approach to life should always be positive but also realistic.  If you fell short, ask yourself what you learned.  If you accomplished what you set out to do, reflect on your plans and efforts used and be proud as you would have had to work hard to make this happen.   In most cases, it’s best to work on yourself first (on your attitude and your own personal belief structures).  You can’t accomplish if you believe from the beginning that you will fail.    Set some goals for yourself for this year.  Make them realistic.  Reach for something that you know is attainable, something that is worthwhile. Believe that you can do this.  Focus on one step at a time. On January 18, 2026, we will have a very active New Moon at 28° 43’ in the sign of Capricorn. It is considered a very active because it is surrounded by Conjunctions.    It has the transits of Mercury and Mars at 26° Capricorn and Venus and Pluto at 1° and 3° Aquarius, respectively making aspects to the New Moon.  These planets are within the suggested range of 3° and Pluto is at about 4°.  At the same time, we have transiting Uranus making a Trine at 27° Taurus and the transits of Saturn/Neptune at 28°.  These latter two are making a Sextile to the position of the New Moon.  These are powerful indicators of a heightened energy which can last for up to one year.   New Moon in Capricorn 2026 Although the effects of the current New Moon will not be fully harvestable until the Full Moon occurs in Capricorn some six months from now, this is the best time to set your intensions and begin new projects.  The results will bring fruition again in about six months, but much will depend on how much effort you exerted working towards achieving these goals. This is especially highlighted with the influence of the sign of Capricorn.   Your intensions should relate to the energies of Capricorn as this is the sign of the New Moon.  As a result, you can set intensions influencing career objectives. This could include beginning your own business, or pushing towards a promotion and gaining recognition for your work ethics and diligent efforts.  It would be beneficial to get closer to those in positions of power, particularly authority figures and your superiors from whom you have either earned respect or who have earned your respect.  You can learn a great deal from these individuals, but you will have to be persistent, diligent and patient as things will likely take their time moving forward.   Mars and Mercury, being Conjunct to the New Moon’s position, suggest that you will have a good idea on how to maneuver your way forward.  Mars will push you, and you must make sure that you do not rush things, even though you may want to.  The Trine from Transiting Uranus can bring you the unexpected, and it may work in an unforeseen manner, often taking hold when you least expect it.  Saturn and Neptune, being Conjunct one another, will insist that you take a realistic view of your goals, but at the same time, your imagination may provide insight into the best way to promote your ideas.   Uranus, Saturn and Neptune are all positive elements and the energies they provide offer greater opportunity for success as time passes.    The House position of the New Moon will play an important role in the energies.  The house signals the area of life best suited to promote your objectives.  The houses connected to Transiting Uranus and Saturn/Neptune will play a powerful role as well.   The strongest period for those that have planets or angles within 3° of this New Moon position (Capricorn 25° to Aquarius 1°) will be three days prior to the direct contact of the New Moon, which will be January 15 and up to and including three days after (January 21) although the influence is felt for about two weeks and longer for those that are sensitive to outside energies. Look for results in approximately 6 months, and don’t forget that the energy you put into your intensions will be reflected in the harvest you reap.    You can make a list of what you wish to accomplish as intensions often work better when we also have them in the written form. It makes them more real.   With the New Moon in Capricorn 2026 be diligent in your efforts and learn the art of patience. We are taught throughout our life, but especially at an early age, how to behave.  We learn primarily from our parents or primary care givers and gain more insight as we begin to mature into ourselves, which takes a lifetime.  We learn how to adapt to life’s situations often taught through experience.  We learn how to manage or overcome adversity.  We learn about love and affection, hopefully beginning at an early age with our parents and once we have learned to love ourselves, we learn how to share our love with those around us. Social conditioning We become conditioned to react or respond depending on our upbringing and self-study.   We can be dictated to by our peers and others.  We may sometimes wonder if we are just puppets interacting the way we should without our consent.  Are we supposed to behave this way or that way, or is this just what we have become accustomed to doing?    We may follow advice but, in many cases, the best advice comes from within, that little voice within which we all hear but not often listen to.   We are not suggesting that we fight the advice we are given, but as adults, we should now be in a state of knowing of what is right and wrong. We can make up our own minds without the chatter from others.  Authority figures are not always right, but they are worth listening to if they are teaching from experience.  Many have had years of experience and can guide us in the appropriate direction.  Ultimately, however, the final decision is ours personally.   Do we follow along blindly or make our own decisions? If we fall, we can always get back on our feet and learn from the experience.  These are the greatest life lessons.   In reality, we walk our own road, follow our own personal path, make our own decisions regardless of what other people have pushed on us. It is always up to us to make that final decision if we have the maturity to stop and question.   Life is the learning tool that we all share.
