Information on energies related to Aspects to Moon ASPECTS TO THE MOON The Moon represents the mothering instinct and is linked to the feminine energies within each of us. The Moon deals with primal emotional needs. It is where we nurture ourselves and take care of ourselves on an emotional level. It is where we feel safe within, where we emotionally react to life problems and also find the answers. It provides us with a safe haven, a comfortable and secure emotional foundation that feels like home. It is where we can go and reside in a gentle manner away from the intrusive forces of life and secure a place for ourselves when in times of strife. We could call this the emotional home or safe haven. The moon represents our instincts. SPECIFIC ASPECTS The Moon is the fastest moving bodies, changing signs every 2 ½ days. The Sun and the Moon are not considered planets, as such, and are known as luminaries. The changing effects of the Moon, moving through the signs, has little lasting impact on our lives and as a result we do not do aspects by the Transiting Moon. To find out more about how the outer Transits affect your Natal Moon (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto), we invite you to investigate the aspects from these planets to your Natal Moon. Transits from Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto to your Natal Moon will create a powerful influence in you lasting up to three years. • The first-house | holmastrology.com

The first house represents our vitality & can describes our appearance. It cab be reflective of our health but not chronic health. When a planet moves from the 12th house into the 1st it is likely a new beginning. This is an angular house which strongly suggests an area where life is activated & it is not hidden or repressed. Others will be aware that something has happened. We make changes which can even be to our appearance. Our lives go through transformations & relationships are alter. The First House The cusp of the first house is known as the Ascendant, which defines how we represent ourselves to the outside world. It is the first impression one displays to the world upon meeting someone. The sign on this cusp will provide information as to how we will react to the world. We will specifically discuss the Ascendant which as mentioned at the beginning of the First House is the first house cusp. This will be discussed more in depth in "Angles", a page which is yet to come As there are twelve signs in the zodiac, each one having their own persona, the first house has a lot to do with our identity. This personality is not necessarily the individual we are on the inside, represented by our Sun sign, but often identifies us through physical appearance. For example, Taurus individuals are either a little shorter than most or average in height and have a strong body, while a Gemini is usually taller than average and slender in build. As all houses represent an area of life, the first house is defined as a house of action where things happen. When planets through transit or progression pass over the ascendant or cusp of the first house, things happen, changes occur and transformations take place on a personal level, as this house rules your personal self and everything we reveal to the world. The first house often has to do with our vitality and often describes our physical demeanour. The first house may also be reflective of our health, although the twelfth house deals with health as well, but often chronic conditions. When a planet moves from the twelfth house into the first house it is often a time of new beginnings, fresh starts and depending on the planet involved, we can feel regenerated and ready to begin anew. This is an angular house which strongly suggests an area where life is activated, and many times it is not hidden or repressed. Others will be aware that something has happened as we make changes which can even be appearance changes. Our personality undergoes transformations especially when Pluto moves across the ascendant. Many times our lives go through transformations and relationships are alter significantly. Astrology 101 The First House is naturally ruled by Aries . • IMUM COELI OR IC

IMUM COELI OR IC (depending on the house system used by the Astrologer) is found on the cusp of the fourth house indicating the home, the family and your roots. It is known as the basis or foundation of our life and although this area of the chart is considered quite private, it still has a dominant affect in our lives, especially when transiting planets make aspects to this area. IMUM COELI OR IC The Imum Coeli more commonly known as the IC is usually found on the fourth house cusp (depending on the house system used by the Astrologer). In the equal house system, it can also be found in the second, third and fifth houses, which will alter the influence of its meaning. In most house systems, the IC is found on the cusp of the fourth house indicating a parent, arguably either parent, but in this Astrologer’s opinion, it involves the more submissive, mothering, caring parent.) The fourth house cusp or IC also deals with the home, the family and your roots. It is known as the basis or foundation of our life and although this area of the chart is considered quite private, it still has a dominant affect in our lives, especially when transiting planets make aspects to this area. It should also be understood that this highly influential area while in aspect will not only affect our home and family (fourth house matters), but will also affect the opposite end of the spectrum, the MC (10th house matters). Transits to either of these areas of the Chart will affect the opposite ends of the Chart. So when the home and family are being affected in our lives and security wavers, it may be due to demands from the MC, which deals with one’s status, occupation and ambitions. When either the IC or the MC is receiving a conjunction from a transiting or progressed planet or a luminary (the sun or moon), the opposite will be receiving an opposition. When one of the IC or the MC is receiving a square from a planet or luminary, the other will also be receiving a square. When one is receiving a trine, the other will be receiving a sextile. Hence the impact of a transiting planet or progressed planet will affect both areas of the Astrology chart. The IC describe our most personal needs, as it is connected to the natural sign ruling the fourth house, which is Cancer, ruled by the Moon. As a result, it defines emotional needs, nurturing characteristics, and our attitude towards family. It will be colored by the sign ruling the fourth house cusp, as well as any planetary links found within the fourth house, particularly when a planet is conjunct within 2 degrees of the cusp on either side. A planet or luminary within four degrees in the third house will also affect the IC. If, for example, Uranus were conjuncting the IC, it would be in opposition to the MC. We could, as a result, expect changes sometimes drastic in nature to the home and family, such as a move and influences in our occupation and status in life. These changes could be of a rather sudden nature and a need for freedom and breaking free in order to create change would be on the agenda. Much would depend on the overall conditions of Uranus in the birth chart and its location by house and sign. The IC and MC, particularly in early life, depict incidents linked to the parents which in turn will affect the child. This parental influence on a child shifts as we mature. The influence widens in such a way that we are no longer just influenced by the parents that dictate our lives, but we are also now affected by an extended version of the family and our place in the overall structures of life. Much emphasis is given to the MC and the Ascendant in an Astrology chart. We also, however, have to consider the IC and the DC when deciphering what impact planetary movement will have in our lives. • The Sun

The Sun The Sun is the core to our identity. It is the principal and dominant part of who we are. The house placement and Sun sign determine who we are and our life’s purpose at least in part. The ascendant also has its part in this along with the North Node and its sign and house placement. The Sun helps us define our life’s purpose and is our creative life force that pushes us on our intended path. The Sun is the will to live and is also linked to our vitality. If it is well aspected in the birth chart, this will go a long way in offering a healthy and long life. The Sun is the driving force behind our personality and is depictive of the internal individual seeking to follow a life path, represented by the sign and house. The Sun along with Mercury helps us reason and they are linked together forming the conscious mind. There is a lot linked to determining our actions through the mental process and the Sun helps us determine what course of action to take. Along with Mercury it describes our final decisions and the conscious efforts that come to pass in finding and uncovering which road we should take. The Sun describes us. It is our basic identity and although it can be filtered by an emphasis in our chart (such as Sun in Capricorn and five planets in the fifth house or in the sign of Leo ) it will still resonate with who we are internally and our true identity remains intact even with strong placements within the birth chart. It could be defined as your best self, the one who resides within but also the one you are becoming. Properly directed and used in its most positive affirmative actions, the Sun is focused and determined and very self-directed. It is linked to the ego and when well-adjusted will provide us with internal fortitude and self-confidence to take us almost anywhere. When the Sun is poorly aspected and out of alignment (poor aspects do not signify a negative response, only challenges put in place for us to conquer) it can make us willful in a detrimental manner, extremely self-centred and condemnatory when judging others, seeking out their faults and weaknesses. The Sun is our driving force, our vital energy and is directly linked to our deeper purpose and part of the reason we have arrived into this incarnation. Seek out the positive and affirmative actions that are depictive of the Sun sign and along with the North Node find your purpose and the push behind your incarnation to create a core and central figure that you will totally resonate with on every level. • Sun in Pisces

Pisces This is the last astrological placement of the zodiac. Pisces is said to contain segments of all the previous signs and may be our final step in our earthly evolution, depending on the level of awareness attained in this lifetime. Pisceans are known to be dreamy to those individuals who are less sensitive and prophetic in their nature. Pisces individuals display signs of psychic ability and have mystical leanings. There is something far away about many Pisces individuals and they seem to intuitively sense the emotional undercurrents that surround them. Piscean individuals are usually very compassionate and sensitive people. They have a soft spot for anyone undergoing life’s sometimes difficult experiences. They also have concerns for the underdog and go out of their way to assist others in need. They are extremely self-sacrificing and some can become vulnerable to the harsher side of life. There are those that would take advantage of their caring nature and exploit them. As these individuals mature, they sometimes learn hard lessons from the “users” in life and eventually learn to discriminate between those that genuinely require their help and those that just take advantage of their kind heart. Those with a strong Sun in Pisces simply need to have a purpose. They need a sense of worth and a driving force to push them towards their goal of spirituality. Life's lessons are understood as being prerequisites in this journey and many will martyr themselves for the sake of others. If they become caught up in unfortunate or misleading adventures in life, some will resort to the use of alcohol and drugs to escape the hard cold facts that life can dictate. Some resort to living in an imaginary world of their own and build walls of protection so their extreme sensitivity is not invaded. Many have a creative flair and music, the arts and creative writing are just a few of the boundless areas where this magical force can be expressed. When in love, they love deeply and are considered selfless and will orientate themselves in service to others, on a high level of spirituality. When in focus with their inner journey, they feel on purpose and the intuitive side can reach mystical proportions. Many develop psychic abilities as they mature into their role in life, although some become lost in confusion. Often sparks of the imagination can run rampant if not kept under control. The imaginary qualities linked to this sign are the motivating factor behind their driving force towards a spiritual connection and their inner strength as long as they are in focus. Life’s lessons often include finding their mission, creating a sense of self-worth and a meaning to their lives that goes beyond self. Through meditation and the practice of selfless living, many will reach heights unimaginable for those on a more physical, material journey. Pisces has been linked to the purity in spirituality and we can all learn valuable life lessons through this often misunderstood sign. Astrology 101 Pisces is ruled by Neptune and the twelfth house . • About Us

About Us Holm Astrology's goal is to educate people about the science of Astrology and to provide our clients with the proper tools to accomplish and/or overcome anything in life. Self-understanding is the first step. Let Astrology offer insights to assist with your choices! About Us Peter Holm is an Astrologer, a teacher of Astrology, an intuitive card reader, a life counselor, a Reiki Master, a Practitioner of automatic writing and certainly a lover of life. Peter Holm’s passion for Astrology began to develop in the early 1980’s when he was advised by an “other worldly message” that he could be an Astrologer if he so wished. From the moment of that message, there was no looking back. Peter still continues his studies today some 38 years later as the science of Astrology is an endless study. Upon retiring from his “job to support his family”, Peter Holm nurtured and developed Holm Astrology into a reputable business but most of all, into a vehicle to fulfill his passion to help others Peter Holm wanted to share the knowledge that he has accumulated over the many decades and as a result of the “push” by several of his clients, he began to teach Astrology. Please see our calendar for dates of upcoming classes. A primary must in Astrology is the understanding that you cannot confuse an Astrology chart reading with the general information contained in a typical newspaper clipping or online sentence that speaks and predicts so generally for each Sun signs. Astrology is so much more than our Sun Sign. You may have your sun in Gemini, for example, but if you have several planets in Aries or several planets in the first house of your chart (ruled by Aries) you will relate far better to the qualities of Aries than you would with the characteristics of a Gemini sun sign as in our example. As a child, Peter Holm spoke frequently of spirits and issues that were not openly received at the time but he had someone in particular who listened to him. Without this positive influence, his gifts may have been stifled as they are with so many others that are told that they are “being silly” or they are told to “stop lying”. He is thrilled today that the world is become far more open to life beyond this material existence. As he has matured, Peter Holm has grown into himself and his gifts. He now is in tune to people’s energies and the quite voices of his guides and those spirits that have advice and information to pass on. Peter utilized the use of oracle cards to conduct intuitive readings which can be carried out in person or over the telephone or in your home as a group party (each participant's reading is done privately). Oracle card readings can also be combined with Astrology chart readings which brings two tools together to provide an even more extensive experience. Peter Holm’s focus is to assist those that come to him on their journey. All of the tools at Peter Holm's disposal are there to help others…through self understanding, ensuring that they are aware of the energy available to them which in turn allows them to recognize and utilize the energies available to its fullest. He offers guidance when clients are overwhelmed as we can become so caught up in the experience that we become blind to our tools, the lesson and our focus. Peter offers healing energies so that clients can trigger their own healing process, physically, mentally and spiritually. He receives information through automatic writings which is passed on as food for thought in his Blog . Peter Holm believes that if we do not stop and take a look at ourselves from time to time, we become complacent and stagnate. This life is a gift. Let’s live it to the fullest! * * * * * * * * I've just had my CTI reading (Combine Traditional [Astrology Chart] Intuitive [Card Reading]) using astrology oracle cards and my birth chart done by Holm Astrology. Peter very clearly and precisely drew out the characteristics and aspects of my past and my present. He painted a picture of who and more importantly why I am!! He then presented my future -- he has amazing intuition and knows how to present the information to ensure I understood the path ahead. Thank you Peter -- you have a wonderful gift!! • The Third House

The Third House The Third House The third house is naturally ruled by Gemini and carries with it some of the Gemini characteristics. Gemini is known for the intellect and communication, as is the third house The third house has to do with the conscious mind and rational thinking. The sign ruling the third house cusp, planets located within this house and aspects to these planets, will play a significant role in how the mental processing is theoretically applied. An example of this could be Capricorn ruling this house cusp, and let’s say it is squared by Saturn . This suggests a mind that is slow and methodical. This individual would weight things out before speaking their mind. If Saturn is closely squared to let’s say Mercury in this house, this individual may have difficulty making up their mind or committing themselves to verbalizing what they are thinking. This could also lead to stuttering in childhood, as this individual may feel so unsure of themselves that it could lead to stammering. The third house also speaks of your brothers and sisters as well as your neighbours and close relatives, such as your aunts and uncles. Once again if this house is under developmental pressure from aspects then there can be issues with the siblings, or close personal relatives. In most cases it’s our brothers or sisters that seem to be the challenge. This house has to do with your immediate environment and the day to day routine we become familiar with. It can define the nature of this environment and our ability to comprehend what is taking place within the framework of our surroundings, as well as our attitude toward it. The third house is strongly connected to the communicational abilities and if aspects and planets suggest literary abilities, we could use this talent and publish books. The third house along with the ninth house deals with the written material, although the ninth house has more to do with the publication of the material that comes out of the third house. They are connected to one another. The third house also deals with early education and our learning aptitude, while the ninth house is the third house opposite, it deals with continued education. Often if there are deficiencies within the ninth house, the education is interrupted. The third house also has to do with mental dexterity, and if well aspected in the birth chart, we are able to use mental nimbleness, and can easily flow with changing conversation. Usually an individual will have some knowledge on many subjects, especially if Mercury is in this house and well aspected. A well aspected Mercury in this house can indicate high intellectual abilities. If Neptune is in this house and well aspected by let’s say Jupiter or Pluto , we would have strong mental focus and a wide range of understood topics at our disposal. We would also be a vibrant and forceful communicator. Astrology 101 The Third House is the house of COMMUNICATION and is naturally ruled by Gemini . • T square | holmastrology.com

The T-Square is an astrological configuration involving 2 or more planets in opposition (180°) with one another & both making a square (90°) to a third planet. This configuration can also be created in part by angles. All 3 planets and/or angles should be within the same mode (Fixed, Mutable or Cardinal). The aspects creating the T-Square should not have an orb any greater than 10°. 3° or less is considered a tight orb. Aspects in Astrology T-Square The T-Square is an astrological configuration involving two or more planets in opposition (180 degrees) with one another and both making a square (90 degrees) to a third planet. This configuration can also be created in part by angles found within the chart. All three planets and/or angles should be within the same mode (Fixed, Mutable or Cardinal). The aspects creating the T-Square should not have an orb any greater than 10 degrees and the closer the angles are to exact, the stronger the influence of this configuration. Three degrees or less is considered a tight orb. The T-Square is considered less influential if the planets are in different modes, or if one of the points creating the T-Square involved is an angle (such as the Ascendant or Midheaven). The T-Square, although considered a challenging aspect, does provide its recipient with motivation. Through applied efforts, the energies from this aspect will often produce viable results and a general ability to achieve in life. As this configuration has three planets creating it, when the energies are not expressed in their proper function, the planets becomes out of balance, leaning too much on one of the three directions. The area of life where the focal planet (which is the planet receiving the square portion of the T-Square) is found in the chart is often too accentuated and those with this aspect in their chart tend to put all the weight on the opposite area of life of where the “square” planet is found. In other words, if the focal planet (the one receiving the two squares) is in the third house, we tend to focus our attention on the area of life represented by the ninth house. The area of life, described by the focal planet, its sign and also its house position can either be used creatively or become a source of frustration. Using the energies of the focal planet as they are intended to be use is highly suggested. The T-Square needs activity in order to function well. As a result, you have to use the energies of the focal planet in a creative manner. A T-Square used creatively is often found in the charts of very prosperous and/or up and coming individuals. It is often noted that the focal planet is the most dominant planet in the chart and must be utilized in a favourable manner in order for results to be achieved. If not used properly, the energies of the focal planet can become a “thorn in the person’s side” and often create conflict and struggle in this person’s life. It is suggested that the area (house) opposite the focal planet needs to be developed in some way so that balance is created. Individuals with a Cardinal T-Square have a tendency to bulldoze their way through any type of crisis in their personal lives. These individuals need to find ways to balance and understand the needs of other people along with their own needs. They need to understand that other people have their own perspectives and agenda and are also capable of deciding which way they may wish to move and of their own accord. The Cardinal T-Square operates in a similar fashion to the energies of the sign Aries. People with a Fixed T-Square aspect operate similar to the energies of the sign of Taurus and have strong willpower and determination to succeed. They build up their strength over a period of time or concentrated thought and then plunge into action. They often need to find ways to release their energy constructively and also develop sensitivity towards other people’s needs. Those with a Mutable T-Square have similar qualities of Gemini and are adaptable, changeable, versatile and restless. These individuals are influenced greatly by those around them. They will need to find balance in the way that they rely on others and understand that they can rely on themselves much more than they give themselves credit for. These individuals also need to stay the course in one direction rather than changing their minds midway and moving on to something new. Back to Aspects Back to Astrology 101

  • Sun in Scorpio

Sun in Scorpio Scorpio There are three main types of Scorpio people and this is why it is such a misrepresented sign. It is often referred to or designated as the Scorpion whose character traits are often the ones that are less desirable. The sign of Scorpio also has the salamander and the eagle personalities. The Scorpion carries with it traits such as deception and these individuals can harbour qualities that are not to be trusted. They are known for the sexual promiscuity and their sexual trickery or cheating capabilities. They also have a very vengeful side and once crossed, it is best to be on the lookout as they can be quite deceptive and sneaky in their plans to equal the score. You are best not to cross them although in some cases they can be plain spiteful and often very vindictive even without provocation. Jealousy is also a strong character trait and although they feel that it might be all right for them to have clandestine affairs, they would not take it well if their partner were to play the same game. It is rather one sided and although they may be quite aware that it is wrong to carry on this way, they still feel entitled and have difficulties controlling their strong desires. Alternatively, there is also the salamander and the eagle personalities of Scorpio. Many will carry traits of both persona’s but those that have found a way to rise above the Scorpion tendencies can become very altruistic in their natures. Most Scorpio individuals regardless of classification have a need to go beneath the surface and dig deep for answers, and because of this, they make great psychologists, pathologists and private investigators, along with surgeons and in some cases miners. The eagle personalities has found their way past primal urges and because of their tendency to go deep are often found in circles involving the mystical side of life. They are true to the cause of self-exploration and seek out qualities within themselves that can not only benefit them personally but also aid others in their time of need. They are quite loyal to their word, their friends and their lovers. Those that seek spiritual enlightenment are always ready to uncover their deepest and most mysterious character flaws and make dramatic changes and transformations to their character due to the planetary influence of Pluto. Most Scorpio individuals are great at uncovering the truth and they often have a penetrating gaze as though they see past the superficial and see right to the core. This can be a little formidable for those that are overly sensitive. They feel that their privacy is important yet private matter can be alluring to the Scorpio individual for they want to uncover all tendencies hidden within. Most Scorpio individuals have an air of secrecy about them and you will have a difficult time uncovering the deeper facets of their personality. They may even hide their true selves so as to remain a secret and to capture the fascination of others. Nearly all Scorpio individuals have a sensual appeal to them and many are aware of this quality but the eagle type does not abuse this trait. They understand that sexual connections are normal and that the appeal that they have should not be abused. If you are looking for a stimulating individual, one who will be hard to decipher and one who is interested in uncovering the deeper meanings of life and the undercurrents of the psyche, a Scorpio individual would be the individual you are seeking. Astrology 101 Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and co-ruled by Mars as well as the eighth house . Beryl is the stone for Scorpio. • Neptune

Neptune Neptune is a mysterious planet, ruling the sign Pisces. Neptune is very subtle in its nature and is known as the planet of illusion, inspiration and psychic perception. Those with a strong Neptune in their birth chart often have mystical inclinations and psychic abilities. Neptune also has an ability to deceive and colour reality placing rose coloured glasses on many individuals when in transit. Neptune also has to do with artistic abilities and inspirational writing. It has to do with musical talent and many with strong Neptune inclinations make great actors, as they are able to take on parts loosing themselves within the part that they are portraying. Neptune also rules mystery and many a mystery novel has been written through the influence of Neptune’s imaginary insight. There are the unfortunate ones who indulge in drugs and alcohol in an attempt to withdraw from some of life’s more challenging moments and during these times, Neptune is often found playing havoc in their lives. The twelfth house is the natural ruler of Pisces and Neptune is also connected with this house. The twelfth house has to do with places of confinement and often deals with institutions such as hospitals and even asylums. The twelfth house is known as the dustbin of the zodiac, and this is often the place where we cover up life’s tumultuous conditions with the hopes that in some way they will disappear and this type of action is often facilitated through the influence of Neptune. Dreams and dream psychology are also areas ruled by Neptune and someone with strong Pisces or a number of planets in aspect to Neptune can become so inclined and able to decipher the meanings behind our dreams. Although Neptune through transit often colours the way we are viewing current circumstances, it also provides us with hidden or subdued talents. Through the use of an often overextending perception, abilities can produce psychic understanding about events that we normally are not able to penetrate. Be careful to view your world clearly when Neptune passes over important points in your birth chart. Putting people on pedestals and viewing life through rose coloured glasses is often an offshoot during these unbridled times when Neptune plays games with reality. Neptune also rules doctors, psychiatrists and anyone who goes below the surface of everyday life. If you can find a way to use the penetrating abilities that Neptune offers, you can see through illusion and find the answers that might have been hidden or laid dormant for extended periods of time. Using your intuitive understanding and being open to dialogue from other sources beyond the realms of earth and material living will help you find places that you might not have known existed. Meditation techniques and mystical alignments are key ingredients to unlocking the true potential of Neptune’s deeper side and unlocking channels to the psychic connection we all share. • Applying & Separating Aspect

Applying & Separating Aspect Applying & Separating Aspects There are three different types of planetary movement in the Natal (birth) Astrology Chart. The applying movement is when the planets are moving together to form an aspect (unless in retrograde), the faster moving planet is behind the slower moving planet. An example of this would be Mars 19 degree Aries and Saturn 20 degrees Aries. Mars moves faster than Saturn and is approaching Saturn and will eventually meet up with Saturn. The separating movement is when the planets are moving away from one another. Using the same planets with Mars at 20 degree Aries and Saturn now at 19 degrees Aries, Mars once again is moving quicker than Saturn and is now moving away from Saturn. Finally there are stationary aspects. The planets that have been in retrograde motion or forward motion at some point appear to be motionless before moving forward or backward in the opposite direction. Even when a Planet is retrograde at birth, it will either be forming an aspect with another planet or separating from an aspect to another planet. The closer the degree is to making an exact aspect, the stronger its energies influence us in our lives. There may be some planets that do not be making an aspect but this is rare. This is known as a unaspected planet. There are varying types of aspects in Astrology. The major aspects (sextile, trine, conjunction, inconjunct, square or opposition) are very powerful in the natal chart. See our Aspects in Astrology. There are Astrologers that have noted that a separating aspect deals with past events or if you like, they represent finished business. Separating aspects have already been dealt with and will eventually fade over time as the aspect continues to separate. Some Astrologers believe that the acknowledgement and correction took place before birth, and we have already made adjustments to overcome whatever the aspect between the two planets describes. The degrees that separate the planets describe how powerful that aspect is in the chart. The closer the aspects the more powerful its energies are. A separating aspect represents perhaps one of the last things that were set in motion in a previous lifetime, but obviously this is speculative depending on whether or not one believes in the possibility of reincarnation. Astrologers understand the significance of applying and separating aspects and will define its intensity and help delineate the meaning of any particular influence in the Birth Chart when this is part of the delineation process. When planets are applying, it is understood that the faster moving planet is moving towards the slower moving planet and suggests unfinished business that will have to be dealt with during the course of this lifetime. Once again, the closer the aspect is to being direct by degree, the more apparent and pressing the energies of the planets involved. We have come into this life to address the energies. Only then can we come to terms with whatever the planets and aspects suggest. The applying aspects become stronger as time passes and the energies will intensify. They push us in directions that will assist us in dealing with the energies represented by these two planetary energies and the aspect they are making. These conditions are dealt with after birth. Applying aspects are suggestive of future endeavours that should be approached and dealt with. This is not to say that all aspects between planets are challenging-- far from it. You have to take into consideration the planets involved and decipher how well they work together and what aspects are involved before making a judgement call on how the energies will affect us. Remember the tighter the aspect, the more significant its influence in our lives. For example, a conjunction between Mars and Pluto is a very strong aspect, but if these planets are separating from one another and are out by 8 degrees compared to an aspect of let’s say Venus conjunct the Sun, (which is a much softer aspect) which is applying and only out by 23 minutes. The latter aspect would have a far greater influence in this individual’s life than the aspect between Mars and Pluto. It is important to weigh out the aspects and recognize whether the aspect is applying or separating when deciphering the energies contained within a Natal chart and how great the impact will be.
