Aspects Aspects in Astrology There are many different types of Astrology aspects in a Birth or Natal Chart and their movement plays a part in their delineation. There are applying aspects (planets moving together to form an aspect), separating aspects (planets moving away from one another) and stationary aspects (planets that have been in retrograde motion and are now motionless before they turn direct or move forward). Today we are going to review the applying and separating aspects in the Natal Chart. All planets, whether retrograde or direct in the birth chart, will either be forming an aspect with another planet or separating from aspect to another planet. The closer to being the exact degree of the aspect the planets or angles are making, the stronger their influence will be in our lives. There are some planets that at different points in time make no aspects, although this is rare. If they are not making major aspects (sextile, trine, conjunction, inconjunct, square or opposition) they are very powerful in the natal chart. We will be discussing this at a later date as well. Many Astrologers believe that a separating aspect deals with past events, or if you like, finished business. These aspects show the energies of things that have already been dealt with and will eventually fade over time. Some Astrologers theorize that the acknowledgement and correction took place before birth and that we have already made adjustments to whatever lesson the two planets involve were teaching through their energies. The degrees that separate the planets describe how powerful the aspect is or was in the chart. The closer the degrees between the two planets (direct aspect) the more powerful the lesson. It is also theorized that perhaps this close aspect was one of the last lessons or events that was set in motion in a previous lifetime. Astrologers understand this significance and will define its intensity and help delineate the meaning of any particular influence in the Birth Chart. When planets are applying, it is understood that the faster moving planet is moving towards the slower moving planet and suggested unfinished business that will have to be rectified during the course of this lifetime. Once again the closer the aspect, the more apparent and pressing the energies of the planets involved. We have come into this life to learn, to address the apparent issues indicated and come to terms with whatever the planets’ and aspects’ energies are suggesting. The applying aspects become stronger as time passes. They will intensify and push us in directions that will assist in learning whatever the energies suggest. These conditions are dealt with after birth. As a result, applying aspects are suggestive of future endeavours that should be dealt with. Transiting planets (the current movement of the planets compared to the natal position of the planets) that touch on these planetary links can intensify the birth condition and push us towards resolution. This is not to say that all aspects between planets are challenging; far from it. You have to approach the planets involved and decipher how well they work together and what aspects are involved before making a judgement call on how the energies will affect you. It should also be understood that a tight square or opposition in the birth chart has been set in motion in this life for us to overcome and could therefore be considered challenging but these challenging aspects are advantageous in the long run and force us to make adjustments that in turn enhance development. Without challenging conditions in the birth chart (and there are charts that are very easy flowing with many trines and sextiles) the life lessons offer little towards growth and achievement in life. It is the challenging aspects that motivate us forward and challenge us to push for resolution. Remember the tighter the aspect the more significant its influence in our lives. When deciphering a chart it is very important to take this into consideration. For example a conjunction between Mars and Pluto is a very strong aspect, but if they are separating from one another and are out by 8 degrees, an aspect of let’s say Venus conjunct the Sun, (which is a much softer aspect) which is applying and only out by 23 minutes, will have a far greater influence than the aspect between Mars and Pluto. We are working on this information and will be adding more soon. Planetary Returns PLANETARY RETURNS All of the planets move around our Sun in the same direction and have their own cycle time depending on their distance from the Sun. The natal or birth chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the moment of our birth. From that moment on, the planets continue on their rotational path around the Sun and this continual movement of the planets is referred to as transiting planets. All of the planets eventually return to their original location that it was in at the moment of our birth (natal chart placement) but the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) take a long time to complete this cycle. Upon being at the same degree and sign that it was at the moment of birth, the planet has made its return. Each planet takes a different length of time. The inner planets move more quickly and the outer planets take a much longer time to return. We do not live long enough to experience some of the outer planet's return. Pisces This is the last astrological placement of the zodiac. Pisces is said to contain segments of all the previous signs and may be our final step in our earthly evolution, depending on the level of awareness attained in this lifetime. Pisceans are known to be dreamy to those individuals who are less sensitive and prophetic in their nature. Pisces individuals display signs of psychic ability and have mystical leanings. There is something far away about many Pisces individuals and they seem to intuitively sense the emotional undercurrents that surround them. Piscean individuals are usually very compassionate and sensitive people. They have a soft spot for anyone undergoing life’s sometimes difficult experiences. They also have concerns for the underdog and go out of their way to assist others in need. They are extremely self-sacrificing and some can become vulnerable to the harsher side of life. There are those that would take advantage of their caring nature and exploit them. As these individuals mature, they sometimes learn hard lessons from the “users” in life and eventually learn to discriminate between those that genuinely require their help and those that just take advantage of their kind heart. Those with a strong Sun in Pisces simply need to have a purpose. They need a sense of worth and a driving force to push them towards their goal of spirituality. Life's lessons are understood as being prerequisites in this journey and many will martyr themselves for the sake of others. If they become caught up in unfortunate or misleading adventures in life, some will resort to the use of alcohol and drugs to escape the hard cold facts that life can dictate. Some resort to living in an imaginary world of their own and build walls of protection so their extreme sensitivity is not invaded. Many have a creative flair and music, the arts and creative writing are just a few of the boundless areas where this magical force can be expressed. When in love, they love deeply and are considered selfless and will orientate themselves in service to others, on a high level of spirituality. When in focus with their inner journey, they feel on purpose and the intuitive side can reach mystical proportions. Many develop psychic abilities as they mature into their role in life, although some become lost in confusion. Often sparks of the imagination can run rampant if not kept under control. The imaginary qualities linked to this sign are the motivating factor behind their driving force towards a spiritual connection and their inner strength as long as they are in focus. Life’s lessons often include finding their mission, creating a sense of self-worth and a meaning to their lives that goes beyond self. Through meditation and the practice of selfless living, many will reach heights unimaginable for those on a more physical, material journey. Pisces has been linked to the purity in spirituality and we can all learn valuable life lessons through this often misunderstood sign. Astrology 101 Pisces is ruled by Neptune and the twelfth house . Chiron Chiron Chiron is a comet that was discovered in 1977. It has an orbit that oscillates between Saturn and Uranus and actually crosses orbits. In Astrology, Chiron seeks out enlightenment through affirmation of its ability to heal wounds especially those wounds of others. They say that the internal wounds formed in early life, such as self-worth and insufficiencies, are carried forward into adulthood and that these wounds are particularly hard to overcome and heal. Through these internal struggles and the lessons that they teach, we are able to help others often before we can help ourselves. As Chiron swings between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus, Chiron can bring with it enlightenment and new avenues of expression by exploring competent and reliable information often learned through life’s experience. There is a need to rise above the original wound even though it can be very deep and can require much work to find new directions or alternatives that assist in moving beyond the injury and rising above the issue. The sign and house position of Chiron show what area of life is involved and the character traits of the wound. In many cases, this is thought of as a spiritual wound and it also shows where we have great healing potential that can help others who have experienced similar wounds in their lives. In order to heal ourselves, we have to face the issues, and we will need to work tirelessly to overcome the effects these wounds have on us. It is said that the first house positioning of Chiron is the most challenging, perhaps due to the personal nature of the wound, as the first house represents us personally. In most cases, the healing powers that individuals develop during their lives are very powerful. Many with a challenged Chiron become doctors, psychologists and healers including modern day techniques such as reiki, hypnosis, etc. Chiron’s energies do not necessarily have to be overly negative, as hard work often produces great results. As we learn to overcome deep-seated challenging conditions, we gain internal strength and learn valuable lessons. The house placement will often define where we have reoccurring difficulties and there is an urgency to repair these concepts and believed notions in order to move beyond the hurt. We are able to heal ourselves but not without hard work and a very disciplined approach. Sometimes the healing comes in sporadic moments of enlightenment or happens when we are not expecting it, but a rational and an honest approach will often work quite well. On some level, our Chiron’s placement by sign and house position is indicative of the ability to heal human kind, and this is not to say that it will be on a grand scale, although we cannot rule this out. We can all certainly help others. We will, however, need to heal ourselves before we can do work with helping others. The issues/injury we speak of in connection with Chiron often are a big part of our life’s story and most of us unfortunately hold on to these wounds for many years. Some individuals will be unable to integrate the healing requirements due to self-doubt and preconceived notions. If we recognize that, in most cases, we are the ones holding ourselves back. We CAN make great strides in overcoming our adversities. Comets, Astroids, Etc. Ceres Juno Astrology 101

Information on energies related to Aspects to Moon ASPECTS TO THE MOON The Moon represents the mothering instinct and is linked to the feminine energies within each of us. The Moon deals with primal emotional needs. It is where we nurture ourselves and take care of ourselves on an emotional level. It is where we feel safe within, where we emotionally react to life problems and also find the answers. It provides us with a safe haven, a comfortable and secure emotional foundation that feels like home. It is where we can go and reside in a gentle manner away from the intrusive forces of life and secure a place for ourselves when in times of strife. We could call this the emotional home or safe haven. The moon represents our instincts. SPECIFIC ASPECTS The Moon is the fastest moving bodies, changing signs every 2 ½ days. The Sun and the Moon are not considered planets, as such, and are known as luminaries. The changing effects of the Moon, moving through the signs, has little lasting impact on our lives and as a result we do not do aspects by the Transiting Moon. To find out more about how the outer Transits affect your Natal Moon (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto), we invite you to investigate the aspects from these planets to your Natal Moon. Transits from Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto to your Natal Moon will create a powerful influence in you lasting up to three years. Gemini With the Sun in the sign of Gemini, a mutable air sign, those under this solar placement come from a place where thinking is the most important life force of their character. They are extremely curious individuals who intellectualize everything, often flitting from one thing to another. They are on a constant search, collecting data, internalizing feedback, and storing some of this information to enlarge their ever expanding knowledge reservoir. They like to be on the move, to keep busy and share their day with those around them. Communication is the key and if they are not sharing life with others verbally, they will do so using modern technology, never missing a beat. Some of these individuals simply skim along the surface, but much depends on the sign in which Mercury is located in their Natal charts. Other individuals under this sign will go deep into all subjects, again depending on the placement of their Mercury. Those that skim along the surface, often have a tendency of leaving things unfinished which creates a need to go back and complete the tasks of the day, although they have to deem it important enough to do so. These individuals have a love of variety and need constant stimulation to be happy. They easily become bored with routine and enjoy most things that life offers. Reading, writing and learning are prime objectives and furthering their knowledge on a wide variety of topics keeps them satisfied. They are in pursuit of intellectual stimulation. These individuals are considered friendly, cleaver and witty people. They truly like most individuals and most people like them. They make great teachers, are quite able when it comes to writing and communication of their ideas, love to share and display their intellect and make interesting and exciting companions. Mercury Retrograde Mercury has to do with our thought process and thinking ability. It has a great deal to do with our communication techniques and our ability to create ideas and formulate action through the thought process. Mercury goes retrograde three or four times a year, with interludes every four months (approximate). Its retrograde cycle is approximately three weeks in length. During its retrograde cycle, it appears to move backwards in the heavens between 10 to 15 degrees. This is a period when we would be wise to sit back and review what has taken place recently before pushing ahead with our goals. This is a time of analytical analyses before we move ahead. Careful study is advised and then when Mercury goes direct, we can move ahead with our endeavors. If by chance we have no choice but to proceed with a project under the influence of Mercury’s retrograde cycle, we can usually expect some delays or obstructions along the way. Venus Retrograde There is a little less than one and one-half years between Venus’ retrograde cycles. Each cycle lasts about forty days. Venus’s energies are about love and affection and it is also affiliated with beautiful things and our possessions. Venus seeks out comfort and elegance although we always need to look at its sign and house position in the natal chart for complete details. Venus’ energies are connected to our search for peace and tranquility hence its affiliation with Libra and Taurus. When Venus is in its retrograde cycle, it has similarities to the energies of Mars. Naturally, Venus is very passive in its expression while Mars is much more aggressive and pushy. Since Venus is connected to material objectives and love and affection, the push for these things is emphasized although the ability to express love and affection is restricted during the retrograde cycle. Remember retrograde implies that the energies are held back. Personal relationships may not be as easy due to the restrictions on our expression of love and affection. While in retrograde, there is a push, however, to accumulate possessions, and this could include a push towards gaining momentum linked to the finances and acquiring material goods. It has also been said that during the Venus retrograde cycle there can be a tendency to lose something of value, whether that be a personal thing or some love interest. There are, however, no significant indicators that the connection lost cannot be regained. Things may not be lost on a permanent basis but can be regained what was lost once the retrograde cycle is over. Again, it is important to look at the full chart for a clear picture. The Eleventh House The eleventh house deals primarily with group endeavours, clubs and organizations that we would like to be affiliated with. Within these groups, we seek to find fulfilment and often as a group we define our ideals and ambitions. This is the house where we define our goals. These are often inner goals and through the discovery of these aspirations, we can uncover our contribution to the world. How we uncover this involvement may be discovered through the sign ruling this house cusp and planets found within the house. The relative ease or difficulty in reaching these aspirations are influenced by the planets in this house and the aspects formed through contacts with other planets. The eleventh house is also the house of friendships and the ruler along with any planets found within this house will define the type of individuals that we may associate with. Friends and acquaintances are often found within a group consciousness and gatherings of like-minded individuals. Planetary links and aspects to these planets will define the degree of difficulty in maintaining these friendships or relative ease in forming them. The fifth house is the opposite house to the eleventh house and often defines the love that we give out into the world. The eleventh house has to do with the love received, usually through friendship and group acquaintances. If the eleventh house ruler is under developmental tension, defined by the sign’s ruler and aspects to this ruling planet, there are often difficulties when it comes to a balance between love given and love received. Often the individual feels as though they are doing all the giving and not enough is returned. If for example you have Scorpio ruling the eleventh house, then the ruling planets would be Pluto and Mars . This would suggest that the organizations that you would want to be involved in would probably have metaphysical undertones and this could be a driving force within the structure of these groups. Much of your maturation would be developed through interchanges within these groups, would lead to transformations that at some point in life would cause you to re-evaluate who you are, and what you could do to change the world around you. Astrology 101 The Eleventh House is naturally ruled by Aquarius. The Eleventh house deals with GROUPS and FRIENDSHIPS.
