There are times in life when we should review where we have been, take a look around to confirm where we currently are and to anticipate but not dwell on where we might be going. We are forever evolving yet holding on to old, outdated habits, actions and people that no longer fit into our progression. This hoarding only creates difficulties. If these “things” are holding us back and creating hurdles perhaps it is time to make a shift. We should always be moving forward in life, evolving on a constant basis, even if only in minute increments. Holding on to how life used to be serves little purpose. Letting go can also be challenging, whether this is a long standing relationship where all parties involved are so far apart that they no longer suit one another, an occupation that no longer fits the new self that is emerging, or an old set of philosophies that now stagnate our growth. Moving forward has its challenges but holding on might be far more detrimental to us in the long haul. Having a future goal in mind can help us to continue with the growth that is necessary. We can set our goals to a reachable yet challenging level. We can strive for something that is attainable yet challenge ourselves for growth. We might even want to set a date for when we want to materialize something significant into our lives. Some find it helpful to keep a log of the progression to obtaining what that something might be and then as we maneuver ever closer to that objective, evaluate our progress and log it. These logs can be great reflective materials down the road to see just how far we have actually come. Once we are familiar with the basics in astrology, such as the signs, houses and aspects, we have a firm foundation for creating an Astrological horoscope. The birth chart is a precise tool that will delineates the character traits of any individual. From birth or natal chart to birth or natal chart, there are many variations found within, and this is what defines each of us as unique personalities. Once we have a good foundation of the principals of the natal chart, we can move on to study upcoming transits and progressions. These tools are used in Astrology to decipher what potential future events and areas of life that will be affected by the passing of the planetary giants in our solar system. We have to take into consideration all the planets but pay particular attention to the outer planets, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto as well as any inner planets that are in retrograde motion for a prolonged period of time. The inner planets move very quickly through the zodiac and under general conditions do not affect us with any long term effects as their impact on us is a very short periods of time. The most powerful transit takes place when a transiting planet conjuncts a natal sensitive point or planetary body. The energies of the planets merge and become one. Under many conditions, the energies of these planets intensify as do the indicators of the houses where these planets are located in the birth chart. The houses are areas of life and the transiting planet will intensify these points and may produce profound life altering effects. This is especially true when several transiting planets are repeating the same message. The outer planets can be within an orb of influence for up to two to three years depending on when they go into retrograde motion and when they become direct again. The first impact when a transiting planet makes an important aspect to another planet or a direct aspect to a natal point will be the strongest. An example of this might be Saturn conjunction Mars at 15 degree of Aries. Both planets become direct when the transiting planet is exactly 15 degrees Aries. This applies to squares, a 90 degree aspect, the opposition, a 180 degree aspect and other major aspects (the trine, sextile) as well as the minor aspects (the semi-sextile, the semi-square and so forth). The major aspects are more significant than the minor aspects and the challenging aspects usually promote transitional times in our lives. There are several progressed aspects that are also important determining factors when deciphering a birth chart and the potential for change in a person’s life. We will look at the progressions at a later date. Suffice to say that the progressions are more internal in their nature. You will use the progressed Moon, transiting Mars as well as the transiting Sun and transiting Uranus as timers, as they often produce a push that activates the energies of the outer planets and often signifies an event or culmination producing internal insight. This just touches on how to delineate potential life events as well as the timing as to when these events may unfold. When we enter into a meaningful relationship, it should be understood that it is not by chance that we have come together. It does not matter whether the relationship is an easy one or a challenging one; there is always something to take from any relationship. We are not suggesting that we should remain in a relationship that over time has becomes detrimental but their connection had value to our growth. If you have your natal Venus at 18-22 degrees Aries or Sagittarius, you will have had transiting Jupiter in trine to your natal Venus since October of 2014. Transiting Jupiter went retrograde in early December, 2014 and will continue to contact your natal Venus into February of 2015. Jupiter moves out of orb briefly from the end of February until mid-June 2015 and then passes over this area again in June and July. This is a long time to have two fortunate planets in the trine aspect to one another. Trines are blessed aspects especially when linked to these two fortunate planets. Have you been through a traumatic experience in the recent past? Are there scars left over from the incident? It is important to look at each day as a chance for a new beginning or an ability to enhance an already magical experience. Each day in essence is a new beginning and a chance for a new start, or a gift to bring more of the same into existence. As we grow stronger into material living we are often presented with a feeling of never having enough and always wanting more. It is fine to feel the comfort that material living can provide, but exaggerating our energies in these areas will often take us off track from our actual purpose for being here. We are spiritual beings living in physical form but we have to ask ourselves, “Are material concerns the reason our true essence brought us into this life?” It is true that there has to be some significance to material life or we would not be surrounded by it on a constant basis, but surely our inner-being is not concerned with material abundance and financial rewards. If it were so important would we not be bringing these with us when we pass on into the next stage of our soul’s existence? We leave everything material behind but undoubtedly we bring with us our experiences and the enlightenment gained in this life. Transiting Uranus has been around the 10-15 degree in Aries since May of 2013 and will be moving out of orb in the spring/summer of 2015. Having a Sun sign of Aries makes you a pioneer, the first to move forward into new and exciting adventures. You move forward with little preparation and may have to redo things because of this, but this also offers you opportunities long before others see them coming. We are all agents of healing. We all have the ability to act as healers on any given day. Whether we use this energy through mental healing or physical healing, it is within us all to give. Do you question these statements? How can someone like me be capable of healing another when I have not gone through any training or schooling? How can I heal without knowing how to work the healing energies? Some training is required before you can learn how to heal efficiently, but it does not require years of schooling to facilitate healing through hands on techniques. What is a Mother’s first response when her child has hurt themselves? It is an automatic response to place our hands over the injury. Why? There are many healing modalities available. In most cases, the energy required for healing does not come from us but works through us. We are only the transmitter or conduit for the energy to pass through. Reiki, for example, is a hands-on technique that the first level can be taught over a weekend. You can learn the technique and begin healing yourself with these initial instructions, although further training and much practice is advised. We can all act as a conduit of this energy. The knowledge has been passed down through the ages and anyone can use this energy to help those around them. We are all born healers. There are many ways that we can use these gifts. How often do we naturally offer a gentle touch when someone is going through a rough time? How often do you find that these people feel much better after a touch and the ability to express their feelings? This is all part of our natural design. We are born with these gifts. They have been available since time began but somehow we have lost this information and forgotten our abilities. Remember to utilize your compassion and open the channels of love so this can be expressed. In some way or another, each one of us care for others. We experience some form of compassion. Transiting Neptune has been moving back and forth into retrograde and then going direct since the spring of 2013 and will continue until February of 2015 between 3-7 degrees of Pisces. If you have the Moon in this degree of Pisces then Neptune will have had a profound effect on you over this two year period. Moon in Pisces is a very inspirational placement and most individuals with Moon in Pisces have psychic inclinations and often prophetic dreams. They are emotionally inclined to receive intuitive information from higher sources and are often visionary. They are emotionally receptive to the deeper dimensions and attuned to other people’s emotional response to the world. Many have a difficult time removing themselves from emotional interaction with those they respond too. This is an intuitive placement for many and for those that have difficulty in this area of life there is often a tendency to live in a dream world trying to escape the more harsh side of life, often through alcohol and drugs. This path we walk and the life we live are sometimes difficult routes to maintain especially in the early days of understanding. It is easy to fall off our chosen route and venture here and there in alternate directions without even noticing. The old and familiar ways are often reflections of where we once were and even though those reflections are from focuses of our past, they somehow still holds us back from moving forward in our new direction.....the ties that bind are strong and they tug at us and cause us to look back. By doing so, we only lose focus of where we intend to go. Stepping out of our comfort zone and pushing forward into an unknown territory can be a bit intimidating and uncomfortable to us. However, as we continue on in this life’s venture, we begin to gain insight and it is then much easier to break free of the past and its grasp. This is what is referred to as the awakening, but it has been in the works since our birth. It is suggested that we were actually in complete understanding when we entered this life and then as we adjusted to the material world, we lost sight of the true meaning of our life as we develop material concerns and make an earthly life for ourselves. This was not a wrong road that we happened to take or a mishap in any way. It was meant to be and we were laying a required foundation that serves it purposes but will eventually have to be broken down to clear way for true understanding. We gradually realize that material rewards are short lived and our entanglement with such things are only comforting for the moment and then rapidly lost their significance. Upon this realization, we are once again open to the underlying principles that have brought us into this existence. We are now making our way towards gaining an understanding of the “why” behind our lives. The door has opened and we have ventured inside, leaving behind anything that does not fit into our new way of living. The past is behind us but there are times we glance back without realizing. Our way of living is changing. Our openness to life is producing results that we never thought we would encounter when we were engaged in our material lives. Staying in touch with our spiritual needs is now paramount. Veering off course does still happen from time to time, but we will realize our off-road ventures immediately and we move back on our intended path. Staying with the truth becomes an easy task as we venture even further into our self-knowing and true perception. Hold true to your awakening. Stay focused and intent.
