On October 28, 2023, we will be experiencing a Lunar Eclipse. In the Toronto area it will be a partial eclipse reaching maximum at 6:10 p.m. EST. The Penumbral Lunar Eclipse begins at 2:01 p.m. (not visible in our area) and ends at 6:26 p.m. (which will be close to the horizon in our area). The Lunar Eclipse will occur at 5° in the sign of Taurus. All eclipse’s suggest heightened energy and with the Lunar Eclipse, in particular, the energies suggest a time of releasing and endings. It operates like a super-charged Full Moon and will create major changes and the finality of what has been in play for approximately the past 6 months. Because it is in the sign of Taurus (a fixed, earth sign) it often speaks of material or objective matters. You will need to go slow but be steady in your approach. This is not the time to rush into situations. Be practical and make sure that over-spending is not part of the scenario as you may want to buy expensive things on impulse or spend money when you likely should not. When these energies are working well, although the Lunar Eclipse is attached to endings of some sort, there is often an advancing stage in the evolution of what is unfolding now in life. The area of life affected by this positioning will depend largely on where Taurus 5° is found in your birth chart (which house) as well as any planets in the natal chart or current transits that are affected by this position. There is an opposition coming from Mercury and from Mars so in many cases this suggests that others are involved in the equation. Taurus is a very sensual sign and perhaps some interchange with an individual has the potential to unfold or the relationship moves to its next stage. This could include an ending of sorts such as the end of a sexual union, or, perhaps on the other side of the coin, the end of a platonic relationship that morphs into a sexual relationship. Oppositions are not overly pleasing exchanges, and some friction might be involved. This can be a time of great change but not without some type of hard work or interaction that is not unfolding in your favour. Others may play a clear part in what unfolds. Relationships of all kinds might be part of this. As our readers know, we always run deep, so when we refer to “event planning” we are not talking about planning a party or social gathering. You likely didn’t expect that anyway. We are referring to reflecting on life to this point and planning or implementing and maneuvering our way forward. The future will be event oriented; we can always count on that. Reviewing your life’s road map so far, may provide an inclination as to where life might lead you next. Perhaps it has been about raising a family and building a future that will incorporate what is needed for times ahead. This may include financial planning, organizing your environment or working towards building a name for yourself in the corporate world, or it may be simply building on what is already in place. Material living is important as we do live in a material world, even though you may feel that spiritual life is much more relevant than material sustenance. Spirituality is important but it is important that although our vision may be spiritual, we are also very connected to this worldly life. We are here and for a reason! We can live day by day and not worry or be concerned about the future. Certainly, all we have is this very moment, in reality. There is still everyday living which does incorporate the concerns connected to survival, health, financial security, etc. No matter how important the material side of life is, in my opinion, spiritual connectedness is more relevant. Life in many ways looks after itself, but our evolutionary path is enhanced by the way we live our lives. If we are solely focused on material advancement or material “lacks”, this is what our life will be. If we are mindful and appreciative enough to put this focus on a less important priority so that we can work on ourselves first and foremost, then the focus moves in that direction and awareness takes place. There is no escaping the reality of our material world, but we can purposely participate in the on-going process of self-enlightenment and spiritual evolution. If material wealth was so important, I personally believe we would be able to take that wealth with us when we transition. No material benefits carries forward so these benefits are transient. There can be many twists and turns in our life’s journey. We venture forth with great enthusiasm and with this enthusiasm we can push through adversity and challenging conditions as we strive for knowledge and more. We will occasionally find ourselves confronted with a situation that appears to be insurmountable but with patience and an open mind we will find that a will door open where previously none existed. These new doors are often found when we have reached our wits-end and simply let go. We have finally released and out of nowhere there is a new opportunity…..apparently materializing out of nowhere, the perfect resolution is presented. Through release these opportunities appear. We push until there is nothing more to do; we let go and finally allow our pure life force to take control (sometimes without conscious understanding of this). There is always a doorway waiting to be found and sometimes we are so busy and focused on looking for it, we cannot see it. Searching and wanting implies that we are without and are lacking in life. This energy attracts more doing without and lacking. Remember, our focus is the key and we only get what we are focused on. Opening the door by “letting go” and “letting life” seems far too simple. As a result, rarely do many of us take that route. We always think that acceptance is giving up. Allowing is not giving up or giving in. It is knowing that there is an energy much greater than that of an earth-bound individual stuck in their mental mind. Letting go and having faith allows our higher energies to flow. Stop fighting the process. Release your anxiety and worry. Life always goes as it should, even when it seems as though it isn’t. You will always be presented with the right door and it will open if you just allow it to. Let this door reveal itself and simply be. This post will focus on the months of October and November, 2023, for Sun in Scorpio transits. The planets involved are Uranus, Mercury and Mars. This influence of planets on the Sun can speak of goals, and inner changes taking hold as well as other indicators depending on the placement of the Sun in your natal chart. E.g. If your Sun is in the 7th house this can speak in terms of relationships of significance like your partner. If your Sun was in the 10th house in the natal chart, this can speak about your career, your ambitions and life status, etc. We will just look at the Conjunction and Opposition which has to do with Uranus. This aspect can last some time. Uranus is currently at 22° in the sign of Taurus and in retrograde. It goes direct on January 27, 2024. It will remain in Taurus for some time and affect the individuals with their Sun in these degrees. Give a 5° influence (3° approaching and 2° in separation). Uranus is about a sudden change of direction and a degree of awakening to what is taking hold in life. Its action is revolutionary and erratic although always moving you in the direction that is necessary for your current situation. It often brings something new and exciting into life and opens doors to what was not anticipated. Uranus is very unpredictable but very concise in its action, which can often be felt over a couple of days when it sits directly on your Sun. This action is influenced by and depends entirely on the house your Sun is in as well as the house T Uranus is passing through. Also, look at the position and aspects to your natal placement of Uranus as this will provide you with greater information. When T Mercury is within range of these degrees which is within the first 10 days of November, your mind and pattern of thinking will run deep about these potential changes. You will likely understand at least to a degree why you have taken this route although in certain cases life moves you along rather than your having total control. If this is anything hidden or subdued, you may find some answers to why this route is now open for you to venture forth on. If by chance you are experiencing the Uranus opposition usually around the age 41-42 you may be going through massive changes that others may feel are totally unlike you to do. T Mars will conjunct to this placement likely at the same time as Mercury and is then enhanced and stays in place until the middle of November, 2023. Mars will likely force its way forward and create action. If by chance, there have been challenging situations centered around issues that need resolution, you must watch for aggressive action. Mars and Uranus are both very concerned with movement and activity and together can carry quite a punch. Watch for aggressive action either on your part or coming from outside sources. The opposition often involves others. This can be a time of a total change of direction, and you should be ready for change, especially if there are other indicators within the framework of your chart. Mars moves into the sign of Cancer, a Cardinal, water sign today, April 23, 2021. It remains in Cancer until June 12, 2021, and does not move into retrograde during this time span. Mars is about drive and push and often speaks of ambition and energy in life. In challenging aspect, Mars has been proven to be the instigator of aggressive action. Sometimes Mars equates with accidents and even violence but nearly always promotes activity. Mars in positive aspect can reach towards achievement and can move ahead in quite a bold and impressive spur. Its energies push you to stand up for what you believe in and for the rights of others as well as your own rights and promotes growth through hard work and a strong push to achieve. The Sun moves into the noble sign of Leo at 10:51 p.m. EDT on July 22, 2019. Leo is symbolically linked to the Lion....the king of the jungle. Those individuals with strong Leo tendencies in their birth chart certainly wish to have some reign over their personal kingdom. They are proud and charismatic individuals, who will be noticed when they make an entrance. They are leaders (seldom followers) and wish to help those around them by organizing life so that it flows gracefully and accommodating. Leo is the sign of the actor and they are inclined towards the dramatic yet their intensions are honorable and always for the betterment of those individuals that they touch. They truly want to be of help although they also have a tendency to take over situations. They like to rule over matters and often believe that they know what is best for others. In many cases, this might be true but there are others, such as a typical Aries or Capricorn, that feel quite comfortable leading their own lives and making their own decisions. The classic Leo will have to learn when it is appropriate to advance their intentions and when they should just sit back and allow. A Leo individual is a kind-hearted soul, who is ruled by their heart, and although quite ambitious and certain of themselves, they will listen to advice every now and then. After which, they will make up their own mind on how to respond to the advice. Leo’s are driven to succeed and maneuver their way up the ladder of success regardless of what personal success looks like to them. They don’t like ridicule and resent those that do not pay homage to what they are trying to do. They like rewards and recognition and can be hurt when no reaction comes from all their hard work. Jupiter often produces good luck, growth in a positive sense especially linked to goals and aspirations and promotes higher learning sometimes attached to religious or spiritual inclinations already inherent in the individual. The Sun/Jupiter connection is a positive aspect and in many cases the flow runs easily. Those with this aspect will have to do little in order for things to work in their favour. It is always suggested, however, that we apply some push in order to reach higher heights of success. There will be times of adjustments for those with their Sun in the later degrees of Leo due to the placement of Jupiter when it moves into Capricorn and also for those in the earlier degrees. The ones with the later degree Sun will deal with the combined energies of Pluto and Saturn in early 2020 which might stir up quite the uprising. Much will depend on the houses (areas of life) being affected and the degree of your Sun as to what will be affected and what you can do with the energies. Regardless of challenge, any aspect can work out favourably and Astrology points out the best approach to dealing with both the positive energies and the lessons to be learned. Midpoints are considered one of the most successful Astrological applications available for predictive abilities. A midpoint is the exact halfway point between two planets or two significant points (Ascendant, Midheaven) or astrological bodies (such as Chiron). The Part of Fortune, as well as the Vertex, or other bodies that you use to delineate an Astrology Chart can also be used when calculating midpoints. If, for example, you have Uranus at 11 degrees Cancer and the Moon at 28 degrees Scorpio, the midpoint would be 19 degrees Virgo. If you were to have a planet or significant point in the natal chart that is within a one degree orb of 19 degrees Virgo, that planet /point would be influenced by the energies of Uranus and the Moon. If, let’s say, you have Mars at 19 degrees, Mars would be heavily influenced by Uranus and the Moon. With this example, when delineating transits and progressions, any planetary link to this position would also carry these overtones as well as the conjunction to Mars. You can also use the semi-square, the square, the sesquiquadrate and the opposition when delineating this configuration. These aspects are all divisions of 45 degrees and will bring action, create events and make these events noticeable to the individual and also, at times, to others that are involved in the equations. Transit Midpoints are very significant when deciphering potential events especially events tied to situations that are suggested by the natal midpoints and the houses involved in the equation. As mentioned, use an orb of no more than one degree when deciphering what potential situations may occur. Midpoints are significant because they will provide the Astrologer with a clearer indication of what potential lies within the bounds of these transfigurations. This can also be applied to any midpoint of any combination found in the natal chart, as the midpoint becomes a focal point when transits or progression join up and make contact with these sensitive points. In most cases when the conjunction is activated between the two planets or significant points and the aspect is direct within one minute, you can expect something to happen. The house location of the midpoint will provide you with the area of life affected. Also, look at the houses the two bodies are located within in the natal chart to provide an even clearer picture. Also take into consideration what the planets represent and how this area of life will be affected. For example, the Moon and Uranus and Mars would suggest an emotional experience that would be sudden and unexpected with the potential for aggressive action or progressive movement in the areas of life indicated. Midpoints can pinpoint events although the more angles involved, the harder it is to delineate. Using the midpoint between the two planets is often sufficed in providing additional information. When dealing with midpoints, pay particular attention to the midpoints between the Sun and the Moon, and the Ascendant and the Midheaven. When Jupiter goes into its retrograde, this cycle lasts about 120 days and will move between 10 to 20 degrees. Jupiter goes retrograde every year and as retrogrades usually indicate that the energy is not strong or its full expression is restricted, Jupiter in retrograde still offers up opportunities for expansion and optimism, although somewhat challenged when it is in touch with Saturn. You can use an orb of 3-4 degrees when determining if Jupiter will affect any of the planets or important points in your natal chart. As it crosses these placements, the energy of Jupiter will increase. As I write this post, Jupiter has been direct since August, 2019 and its positive expansiveness is considered to be alive and well. Under normal conditions Jupiter is known as the great benefactor, but it is said that when it moves into retrograde, the energies of these characteristics seem to fade and its normal opportunistic influence is felt on an inner level. On the material side of things, however, it is less effective but still present. It is suggested that if you are considering buying property or big luxury items while Jupiter is in retrograde motion that you reconsider and wait until Jupiter is once again in direct motion. Much depends on the natal aspects to your Jupiter. In general, Jupiter’s energies are not as lucky in retrograde motion as they are under direct motion. When this planet moves into retrograde, its impact is felt on an inner level rather than in our outside world. During a retrograde cycle, you can benefit greatly if you focus on inner growth and awareness. Getting in touch with you and objectively view yourself making alterations along the way as this would be very beneficial. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and is connected to spirituality and the philosophies of life that have deeper meaning. If you have a look at the house it is transiting through as well as the house it is located in your natal chart, these will be areas of life that you can do work on and transform in ways that will suit you better (when Jupiter is direct again). It is a time of introspection when Jupiter is retrograde. Remember to view Jupiter even when retrograde on a positive note, even if what you see or if your life’s direction is not what you thought it was. Under the retrograde influence you can make adjustments to the way you have been living your life, transform your life’s direction and put yourself on track with where you should be going. Jupiter in retrograde is connected to the lessons in life that are required during that specific time. Be honest with yourself under this influence, and you will be able to re-examine your truths and gauge these with a keen eye in order to decide what you want to change and what is worthy of keeping. These are often aspects of yourself that need some tweaking, in turn creating a higher version of yourself on track and ready to move in your intended direction. Look inside yourself and find those inner riches. While under the influence of Jupiter in retrograde, if you are making plans on going into a business venture, make sure that you take the time to consider all the aspects connected to making this decision. You may find that you will make great expenditures when Jupiter is retrograde. This is not always a wise decision and likely not one you would make if Jupiter were in direct motion. It is actually best to wait before making any decisions, unless your natal Jupiter and the planets connected to it in the natal chart are quite “well” aspected. Check to see what the natal chart is saying and then make your decisions. Just make sure that you are viewing these contacts with clarity and watch for expanded optimism. As a side note, the next Jupiter retrograde will be May 15, 2020. Once Jupiter has gone back into direct motion (again this year was August 11, 2019 and in 2020 it will be September 13) and is making aspects to other planets in your natal chart, you will be able to gage what areas of life might be affected and the potential outcome of actions taken once Jupiter is direct. October 31, in the northern hemisphere, marks the end of the harvest season, summer’s end, a holy day for witches, the wiccan/pagan new year, all hallows eve, the day of the dead, the beginning of Samhain, etc. The day light hours are becoming much shorter and the sun is much lower in the sky. There is much less dancing in the sunlight and you can feel the mood change around us. The long dark nights ahead of you, however, gives you a wonderful opportunity to reflect and go deep within. Who are you? What weight from your past have you been carrying on your back? What can you release and let go of? What new journeys would you be fond to embark upon? What opportunities have you squandered? What opportunities have you taken advantage of? What is your heart telling you? Do you listen to your heart? What ideas and goals give you goose bumps? The seasons offer you many opportunities. Mirror nature. Now in nature is time to release. Let go of those things that no longer serve you. Do you feel the change in the energies around you?
