Holm Astrology has been creating "Astrology" and "Food For Thought" posts for over 10 years.  Wix has taken over the Vista Print websites and as a result of the migration of our information, a large portion of our blog posts are currently lost.

We realize our Astrology posts are vital to our students.

If you do not find what you are looking for on this Blog page, please visit www.holmastrology.blogspot.com/ where you will find our missing blog posts.  There are over 2,660 posts pre September, 2023.

We apologize for the inconvenience but it is worth the jump over to our blogspot.

There is a gradual development as anything moves through the houses of the Zodiac. The first house represents a new beginning and as we migrate through each house, we develop the skills represented by the energies of each house, one building on the next. Today we will look at houses one through four.
Our Transition Through The Houses in Astrology, House one through four

In Astrology, the Ascendant is a new beginning.  As anything moves through the first houses, we begin again. There is a gradual development as anything moves through the houses of the Zodiac.  The first house represents a new beginning and as we transition through each house, we develop the skills represented by the energies of each house, one building on the next. Today we will look at houses one through four.

Thinking strictly of the energies of the houses, without focusing on the energies of the planets, comets or anything else that migrates through the Zodiac, the first house, again, is the beginning, a new birth or new start. We learn what is required in order to express ourselves in our environment.  We acquire certain characteristics which suit our outward expression, build on how we wish to be seen by the world and formulate a plan to push onward in our quest of life.

As we move from the first into the second house, and we are becoming comfortable with our outward expression especially in the way we present ourselves to the general public, we now need to find comfort in this expression and security from within.  Some find this inner security, although often we may find this temporarily in our efforts to acquire financial security.  What we are really trying to obtain is inner security and no outward success can build any type of permanent security.  The financial situation, whether we choose or do not choose to pursue this, does offer a “feeling” of security in the ever changing monetary expression.

As we begin to gain inner confidence acquired in the second house, we then move into the third house where we set out to achieve communication skills in our daily life experience.  We may now feel secure enough within or not so secure, but our self-expression through our communicative techniques will hopefully help in these situations.  This can be received through many channels such as communication with siblings and other family members in early life.  When we mature, we should be ready to tackle the world at large and our communication is essential for our advancements whatever that may be.

When we venture beyond communication techniques we acquired through the third house, we should now begin to settle into life.  We then begin thinking about family and a place where we can hang our hat, so to speak.  We move towards settling into a home of our choosing and think about building a family although our own immediate family, especially the parents, will have a significant impact on some of these choices.  We may move from the family home and find a place of our own or think about gaining our own independence in some manner.  We may be ready or almost ready to buy a home but we might want someone to share the expense or we start our journey towards a family of our own, all represented by the fourth house energies.

We will continue with our transition through the houses in Astrology in our post on February 28.

The Full Moon on February 24 @ 7:30 a.m. EST is in the sign of Virgo at 5°.

A full moon is the climax of all the preparation and hard work you put into your specific goal.  It is the harvest of your hard work, and the rewards received likely reflect the amount of effort that was put into your goals. Now your rewards will be illuminated.

Much will depend on what your energies have been dedicated to.  Is it relationships, work, personal enterprise, home or family, your reputation, status or does it deal with security?  The area where the energies are flowing will be identified by the houses involved in the aspects (e.g. Sun opposition Moon) at hand.

The Full Moon occurs when, as mentioned, the Sun and Moon are in direct opposition with one another, and opposition aspects often incorporate other people into the equation.  How have others impacted the outcome of what lies before you now?

Has there been interference by them or have others paved the way towards a successful conclusion?

Full Moon in Virgo

Virgo (Full Moon’s sign) is all about having everything in its proper place.  Being prepared and wanting everything to be as near perfect as possible.  Virgo also sees all the little flaws in things and will do their utmost to make sure that the final product is without flaws.

In general, nothing is perfect, so it is important not to be too rigid with your thoughts on perfection.

You can be the coordinator, the regulator, the orchestrator and can also take the pat on the back because of what you have done or in contrast take responsibility for the shortcomings that might be in place and learn from the combination of your effort and your outcome.

Transiting Venus and Mars will be in conjunction with one another at this time and making a quincunx to the placement of the Full Moon in Virgo.  Venus and Mars in Aquarius at 8-9° are on the outside looking in but might still be having an impact.  (The normal orb of influence is 3°).

Together Venus and Mars can speak of a love interest and the quincunx speaks of adjustment.  It can have something to do with finances, the desire to address these issues, and adjustments will be needed in these areas. Security on some level (positive or negative) can also be affected.  Because the orb is not tight, this might not be overly influential, however.

Enjoy the energies of this Virgo full moon (also known as the Snow Moon).

This post applies particularly to those with their Sun in Pisces and deals with important transits during 2024. However, it also applies to those with their Ascendant in Pisces.

When speaking of the Sun in Pisces, these transits will affect the overall life path and goals, along with inner personal changes or new directions taking hold.

Those with the Ascendant in Pisces will find that these transits affect them in ways that others notice, external changes, and sometimes reflected also within relationships, personal appearance, and the way they represent themselves to the world.

Pisces Forecast

Saturn and Neptune are making conjunctions to the Sun in Pisces and Ascendant of Pisces.  I should also mention that any planets in the sign of Pisces or any important angles (ASC, DC, MC and IC) with Pisces on the cusps will also be affected by the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune to these placements; however the influence will differ.  Each angle has its own description and each planet its own energies.

Saturn currently (February 2024) is around 8–9°of Pisces. As the sign Pisces is very receptive to the vibrations of life, there may be feelings of a slowdown or some obstacles that need to be rectified.  Those influenced by Saturn may feel that they have to work harder than normal to accomplish tasks and there may be (for those so inclined) a holdback and reality check on anything related to the mystical side of life.  These individuals won’t take things for granted and will weigh out all their options before they plunge into these realms of existence.  They may question the validity of what is in place and want proof on some level before they continue ahead on their journey into the spiritual side of life.

Saturn can delay progress but only because each “t” has to be crossed and every “I” must be dotted.  Saturn makes us have a good long look at our perspective and may even make us somewhat dismayed at times.  It can create worry and anxiety but over time, and with work, it builds solid foundations.

Neptune on the other hand is quite at home in its own sign of Pisces.  Currently Neptune is at 26° of Pisces and will remain in the later degrees of Pisces until the spring of 2025 when it moves into Aries.  Neptune is often tied to the awakening of spiritual forces and creative abilities.  It opens the door through meditations practice and other agents similar in nature.  For those that are so inclined with this influence, the path may open under this aspect but make sure what you see is in fact reliable and not a vague identification of something that you might imagine to be true.

For those leaning towards music and the arts, these doors can open as well, especially if the twelfth and/or fifth houses are part of the story.

Neptune is mystical, magical, and inspirational and can be the orchestrator of great strides in these areas.

Giving without measure is part of the process and feeling your way through at this time rather than thinking things out would be suggested.

Happy solar return to our Piscean followers!
