In the Northern hemisphere, we will be celebrating the summer solstice or Litha on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 4:24 a.m. EDT. The summer solstice signals the longest daylight of the year. In my area in central Ontario, we will experience approximately 15 hours and 36 minutes of daylight.  The further north, the more daylight time and the further south, the less daylight time.

This powerful solar energy can recharge every ounce of our being -- our spirits, minds and bodies.

All things are energy and energy is interconnected. Some individuals are more in tune and are quite aware of these influential external energies such as the summer solstice. With or without this awareness, all living things are affected by the position of the planets at their birth, by the continual movement of the planets through life (transits), by the influence of the rotation of our earth including the changing seasons and any other shifts that occur in nature.

Guided by spirit/our higher self (call it what you will), we live our truth, both during the easy flow and the more challenging life lessons. How we utilize the energies available and our attitude and focus toward each and every event determines our experience.

Take advantage of the strong solar energies of the Summer Solstice to push forward. Use the more aggressive energies of the Sun to catapult onward and allow yourself to bloom into your own true beauty. Rise above the chatter of your thinking mind (and the relentless outside chatter around us) and simply allow life’s energies. See the world around you for what it is without judgement.

With the summer solstice 2026, the Sun is at at its fullest potential (from our earthly position). You too can allow all your inner power and beauty to radiate out. Express your true self as there is nothing more perfect or authentic.  By allowing your authentic self to bloom, you will benefit and so will each and every living thing that your energy touches.

What a glorious time of year.

Allow yourself to mirror the seasons. We have just experienced the wonderful season of renewal. We hopefully have worked hard to create buds of promise. Now is the time to allow those buds to bear the fruit of our efforts. This beauty and abundance will be seen and experienced by all who share this garden of life with us.

On June 21, 2026, we move from the mutable air sign of Gemini into the cardinal, water sign of Cancer. 

The Cardinal Modality (Cancer, Aries, Libra, and Capricorn) are the initiators of the Zodiac.  They like to be on the move and push ahead with great enthusiasm and energy.  While each sign has its own tendencies as far as push and drive goes, Cancer has to do with family and nurturing.

Transiting Jupiter Square Natal Pluto

Much of what transiting Jupiter square natal Pluto signifies and creates (over a period of about 18 months) will depend on the Natal nature of Pluto in your natal chart, including its aspects to the other planets and angles in the chart.  If Pluto is well aspected in the birth (also called natal) chart, the transit of Jupiter will build on positive energies as it nears exactitude.  If Pluto is poorly aspected in the birth chart, then it will not be as favorable, although Jupiter’s transits are usually quite promising except when it makes hard aspects to Natal Saturn.

Jupiter tends to expand on things and the placement of Pluto in your natal chart by house position will describe the areas of life affected. 

If, for example, Pluto is located in the seventh house then the area of close personal relationships like a marriage partnership would be activated.  If transiting Jupiter were found to be in the fourth house, the energy of Jupiter would be centered around the home and family.  If Jupiter were transiting through the tenth house, then these energies would have something to do with life’s status, your career and your path forward.

The Square aspect often indicates some struggle, although at the same time the struggles are challenging enough that they often spur us into action to alleviate the issues and repair anything that needs it. 

Pluto transforms and regenerates and often indicative of power struggles and the need to make significant changes in order for something new to begin in life.  Pluto often indicates an ending of conditions so that something new can begin.

Jupiter brings opportunities to rectify the situation, with hope and often vigor when approaching the situation with an open mind and positive energies linked to resolution.  Jupiter might just be the saving grace when these energies (defined by the houses position) are activated.

If Jupiter goes retrograde, several direct contacts will be made and energies will be highlights whenever the direct degree is touched.  The first pass of Jupiter over the direct degree will be the strongest and the final pass (third pass) will indicate a finale to the transformation. 

You will likely know a year or so before direct contact what needs transformation. It will take time to move through the life lesson and to adjust to what unfolds.
