EVER-CHANGING BACKDROP OF OUR LIVES

Is there a shift taking hold in your life?

Quite often after a period of what feels like stagnation, we begin to enter a new phase of progress.  Our focus may shift and we step in a new direction.  It’s time for growth!

This may be expected or more often than not, completely unexpected.  We become so wrapped up in the process that we don’t recognize that change and growth are happening.  In most cases, the entry level is subtle, and little seems to shift, but after time, we begin to notice that something seems different, that we are being drawn in a different direction.

In many cases, especially in the beginning, it is internal, but then the internal changes reflect out into our world as well. Life looks different. Our outlook seems brighter, colors more vibrant, the wind and temperature more outstanding.  Although the manner of expression seems to be directed towards outside stimuli, in reality we have already changed within.  Again, all things begin within and then are noticed on the outside.

The Ever-Changing Backdrop of our Lives

The shift does not have to be a total life change (but it can be). Change can manifest itself in small but important relationship changes, occupational transitions, or even changes in our appearance.  Outside manifestation moves in areas that we will recognize and perhaps others will as well, (although at times, only we realize the change that is happening).

Prior, we may have been felt we were ready for change or knew that something had to shift. Alternatively, we may not have had any idea that a shift was coming.  One thing is for certain, the changes taking hold, whether barely recognizable or life changing, are in place for a reason. 

Shifts happen when change is required.  We are ready even if we don’t feel we are.  The ever-changing backdrop of our lives is significant. We will move forward even when we hold back.  Shifting is part of our life’s purpose, and it takes hold when appropriate.

RELIABILITY

What are some characteristics you like in people? 

Reliability

Many of us look for honesty, caring, sensitivity and the list goes on.  Some things are more relevant than others but one thing that most of us want in a relationship would include reliability.  You want someone dependable, someone who stands by your side when you need them and someone who will always have your back.

This applies to any relationship. We want others to be reliable, but we should also recognize that others want us to mirror this attribute.  What we say and do matters, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

We need truth.  When we say something or offer our advice to others they should feel as though what we present them with is honest and reliable information that can assist them, if they choose to follow our advice.

Also, if we make a promise, we need to keep that promise. 

If we make a commitment, we need to stand behind it.

Unfortunately, some individuals do not make themselves accountable. Who are we, if our word is worthless?

Think before you speak. Ensure that you can keep a promise or your word.  If it is questionable that you want or cannot follow through, then say no right from the get-go. Set your standards high and be an example to others.  Be good for your word.  Say what you mean.  Be there when you say you will. 

Unfortunately, many people search outside of themselves for what they need inside.  Do not look outward; look within.

Why do we dislike other people’s characteristics?

Are they a reflection of our imperfections?

Are they characteristics that we fear?

Life is deep!  Look deep within. Be true to your word. If you make a commitment, be committed. Be reliable to others but also to yourself. What is reliability?

THE NEXT STEP

Are you ready? 

Does it feel as though the timing is right?

If you are looking for something, the very act of searching can hold back the process.  It might not stop it entirely, but it will likely slow things down considerably. 

We never truly know what lies ahead, yet we can feel as though things are about to move in a new direction.  What this direction may look like is unknown but set your intensions, do your due diligence and step forward. 

How long it will take to fulfill your goals is yet to be determined.  It has taken you to this vary moment to get to where you are now. The next step will take as long as is needed to reach your new destination.

Patience always seems to be a lesson in our journey. Things move ahead when and at the speed they need to. All things happen in their own time and at the right time.

The Next Step

The next step can go in many different directions whether involving your career, finances, your children, relationships and the list goes on.  Sometimes this direction involves Karmic debt and sometimes it involves Karmic rewards. Have faith that whatever transpired is what is needed at this particular point in life. No need to worry about possibilities. 

There is always the next step whether it is the last step in a fleeting stage of life or a new step in a new stage of life.  Place one foot in front of the other and have faith in the journey!
