There will be a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse beginning at 5:26 am on August 18, 2016. The Full Moon (always a full moon during an Eclipse) in general is the harvest period time for the seeds planted during the New Moon. It is also a time when you take stock of what you have either completed, set in motion or are preparing for. If you have fallen short of your goals, this will be the time to cut your losses and learn from your experience and move forward from there. This Full Moon falls in Aquarius indicating humanitarian ventures which may have began some six months ago when the New Moon was in Aquarius. Aquarius represents progressive thinking and influencing people’s attitudes and belief structures so that they can move beyond any limitations in their thinking. Aquarius’ influence can assist these individuals into moving in new more progressive directions. Aquarius energies create attitudes that are ahead of their time and always have the betterment of humanity in mind. The goal is to create a shift in those that are stuck in complacency or focussed on out-dated ideas. The energies of an eclipse are a far more powerful than those of the Full Moon’s or New Moon’s energies. The length of time the Eclipse event lasts will determine the length of time its energies will have an influence for this specific Eclipse on anyone who has a planet or significant house cusp (Asc, DC, MC or IC) at 25 degrees Aquarius. You can use a 3 degree orb to calculate this influence. Pay particular attention to which house or cusp that is being influenced by this eclipse. The affairs ruled by that house and any planet it touches are activated and the energies of the planet in question are stimulated. This should only be by conjunction (0-10 degrees) and the length of time (in hours) the eclipse lasts is measured in months to know the length of influence. If, for example, the eclipse lasts 3 ½ hours, its energies will have an influence for 3 ½ months. (Solar eclipse is calculated in years). Eclipses suggest changing circumstances which are often brought about through hard lessons or crisis. This does not have to be an extreme crisis, but whatever emergency is stimulated by the event brings about a positive outcome as time passes. Conditions change and our inner self knows intuitively what it is that we need in order to bring about much needed growth. In many cases, we have been prompted to make adjustments in our life and many of us have not moved in the appropriate direction. This Eclipse will motivate us or cause something to happen to ensure that we get moving. Always pay attention to the axis of where the eclipse falls in your chart. For example if it falls in your first house, the axis point will be the seventh house. An eclipse in the first would produce needed changes on a personal note and also have ramifications in your relationships. Perhaps the relationship itself causes the change. With this example, the influence would have something to do with your immediate surroundings and also to motivate you to place your objectives out into the public eye. Get things out in the open and put your personal stamp on it. There is no need to fear Eclipses. More often than not, events and influences will happen on a more subtle level and if you happen to have a planet at the same degree, you would also have to have many planets in the same degree in other signs for there to be influence on a grand scale for you personally. It is also necessary to have several planets or significant points making tight aspects to 25 degrees Aquarius in your chart. There will be times when we have to ask for assistance from others during this journey. Sometimes, those individuals we approach are available and offer sound advice. During 2016, transiting Saturn will be between 10-20 degrees of Sagittarius. Many people who will have this transit in their chart (be sure to check you chart to see if you have this transiting aspect) will feel its influence as much as 5 degrees approaching and up to 6 degrees separating. Saturn’s energies are felt differently than any other planetary influence. All other planetary influences will be at their strongest when direct but Saturn is at its strongest influence at 2 degrees past direct. Saturn’s influence has a slow but steady feel to it and as it approaches, it will increase in intensity and then slowly releasing its energies as it moves out of range. Saturn is slow and deliberate, and its intensity is easily felt. When Saturn is conjunct the natal Moon or when it moves into conjunction with the progressed Moon, this is known as Saturn chasing the Moon syndrome. Its energies are felt on an emotional level. How it will affect you depends on if the Moon is receiving other aspects, but it is fairly safe to say that you may go through depressive moods, feelings of insecure and inferiority, and your self-worth will not be at its peak. It is wise not to get caught up in the negative ramifications that this conjunction often implies. You could easily become overly self-critical and although there is nothing wrong with self-analysis, remember to view yourself from a positive perspective as well. Do not be overly nit-picky but you may discover some flaws that will need some adjustment. Your emotions may lack softness. You may even feel emotionless or cold except perhaps for the feeling that you are not good enough or do not care enough. Being reflective, however, does not have to have negative ramifications. Planets located on the Ascendant and MC have a very powerful effect in our natal charts. When these two areas are aspected by transit, quite often things happen and our lives are stirred. The other cusps are also important when a transiting planet (in particular a progressed planet) crosses over any house cusps. The strongest point of impact (when you notice a change) will be when they pass over the cusps and this is particularly true if they station on one of these cusps. A planet that goes into retrograde over one of these house cusps can move over this area up to three times and this has an impact on the area of life the house represents and with the energies of the planet involved. Once the transiting planet moves into the house and will not go into retrograde over that cusp again, the energies lose some of their strength or intensity. It has been noted that individuals with a 0 to 1.5 degree Cardinal cusp on the Ascendant and Midheaven appear to get recognition over their life time. Some become famous or infamous, much depends if any planets are making aspects to these areas and which planets as well as what aspects are part of the equation. We are referencing to a natal chart and for many this is a very real potential. Moving to a different location and having a rectification chart prepared may bring on this potential or take this potential away, depending on the positions in the horoscope and how far away you have moved. In Transit and especially with Progressions, the house cusps become very significant. If, for example, you have Pluto moving over the second house cusp and this could last up to one year, you will often notice a fluctuation in the finances. Security goes through a transformation and you will uncover deeper connections to your feelings of security in life. If the same planet moves across the seventh house cusp there may be transformations in a marriage relationship or business partnership. Some marriages dissolve under this transit, some relationships are made under this transit, but one thing is for certain, the relationship itself will go through some challenging conditions where issues come to the surface. These issues must be dealt with appropriately. A strong relationship will survive the lesson of this transit, but a weak one may not. It is important to see how the transiting planet makes aspects to other planets during this transit. This will determine the intensity of what takes place. It is also important to check what the natal potential suggests. Several challenging aspects in the natal chart to Pluto would stay with Pluto, as an example. With this example, real struggle would be indicated. Mostly positive aspects to the planet in the Natal chart would prove to be quite beneficial. Pay particular attention to the progressed planets making a conjunction to a cusp as this could last for an extended period of time. In general when the progressed planet is within 12 minutes of being direct, this will be when the strongest time for activity will be felt. As it separates and moves across the cusp, its energies will weaken and eventually pass. House cusps are very significant, especially when you are dealing with a solar return period. This transit between Pluto and Mars is potentially a very potent one. You will have to review your planets’ placements to see if Pluto and Mars are linked in your chart and also check what other aspects are connected to Pluto and Mars in your natal chart. This will help determine the transiting effects on your life. Check to see which house transiting Pluto is located in as well as its natal position. You should check closely if there are other transits affecting Mars or planetary links that closely resemble this configuration such as Pluto with Uranus as this will help to define the intensity. You should also check which house natal Mars is located in to determine its overall effects as well. As mentioned, this is a powerful aspect. Pluto and Mars together often indicate a warning signal and if you also have at least two other planetary links that also point in the same direction, (Uranus links) you will have to watch for haste in action, especially dealing with motorized vehicles and machinery. Potential danger lie in these areas but is certainly avoidable when caution is exercised. This is a high energy transit that must be contained or expressed in a vigorous although gentle manner. If you do not release these inherent energies, there is potential for becoming victim to aggressive behaviour. Do not place yourself in immediate danger and avoid arguments if possible. If you are ready to move forward with your ambitions in life, this transit can provide you with the drive to accomplish, even in the face of adversity, especially if the Natal Sun is involved. You have great potential to overcome any harsh conditions and if you harness this powerful aspect, you can succeed in many endeavours (which under normal conditions you would most likely not even think about pursuing). There is a lot of drive and energy linked to this transit. You are also able to dig beneath the surface on inner turmoil that may have been dormant in the past. This is not the post that was written for today but this morning as I sat to proofread today's post somehow this post from last year opened without my realizing it. Who am I to argue. Here is the post that the powers that be want to be published today.....someone must need to read it! DO NOT LOSE YOUR PERSPECTIVE Do not allow yourself to lose focus of your own personal ideologies. It is important not only during good times but especially through hard lessons to continue to share, love and be compassionate. We must always be the mirror image of what we want to see in our world around us. It is said that currently we are in a transitional stage. As with all transition periods, comes times of turbulence. Be compassionate and share love with your fellow brothers and sisters. Stay focused on the positive. It is plentiful, if we care to pay attention. We may be in a state of flux but it is important to stay focused on our true journey, which is based on of love. We can rise above any global event. When we focus on the blessings which are too numerous to list in a day, we keep our energy levels high above the levels that perpetuate fear and hatred. Live each day in a manner that serves you best. Do not allow the actions of others to intrude into your loving world. If we live in fear and hatred, then the actions of those lacking in love have achieved their goals. Peace, contentment, joy.....these cannot be obtained through violence, discontent, hatred. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated this clearly: “The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” We are one. Your beliefs in life are not worth having if they cannot stand up during times of trial. Let the light of source continue to be your guide and stay true to your own personal journey. Nothing can bend the strong arm of compassion and together as a force we can help channel hate in different directions. Hate is the absence of love. If you fill hate with love, it can no longer exist. All actions create waves of energy. These waves are continual and once they have returned, you will reap the harvest of what you have sown. Life looks after life and what we set in motion today will have ramifications in our world at future dates. Acts of love and compassion raise your vibration and in so doing raise the vibration of all that surrounds you. Rise above the seeds of fear that have been planted. Find that place within that resonates with love at the highest level. Together our energies create the whole. There is only one life to live for the moment, one life to give in the moment. The final Dispositor in Astrology is basically a chain of command. One planet, sometimes two planets, rule the chart. If there is a planet in its own sign, for example, Saturn in Capricorn, it becomes the final Dispositor or chief in command. The Dispositor pattern is determined by the planets in the signs. For example, start with the Ascendant and for this example, we will use Sagittarius as the rising sign (Ascendant). With this example of Sagittarius as the rising sign, which is ruled by Jupiter (the natural ruler of Sagittarius), Jupiter is in Aries and so Aries natural ruler is Mars. Mars is in Scorpio and Scorpio is naturally ruled by Pluto. Pluto is in the sign of Leo and Leo rules the Sun. The Sun is in Aquarius and Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. Uranus is in the sign of Cancer and Cancer is ruled by the Moon and the Moon is ruled by Scorpio bringing the ruler back to Pluto. We have not yet touched on Venus which is in Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter and Jupiter is in Aries. We have already followed that route which brought us to Pluto. We have not touched on Saturn which is in Libra ruled by Venus which is ruled by Sagittarius going back again to Jupiter and following that same route to Pluto. We have not touched on Neptune which is ruled by Venus and Venus is in Sagittarius bring us back to Jupiter and ending that cycle to Pluto. Pluto is the common denominator and will be the final Dispositor in our example. Saturn in Libra and Venus in Capricorn are planets in mutual reception. Libra rules Venus and Saturn rules Capricorn and this is what creates the mutual reception. These two planets will be very significant in our chart example and in the person’s life that is being prepared for. Having these two planets in each other’s signs stop the chain of command and makes them both very significant in the chart. If planets are in their own sign in a chart, for example Saturn in Capricorn, the examination goes no further and this becomes the final Dispositor. Sometimes there are two interplanetary links that constantly come to the forefront. In this case, both of these planets are extremely important in the birth chart and together share the rulership of the chart. The ruler of the Ascendant is also been called the ruler of the chart, and its planetary ruler is of extreme importance as well. For example, Sagittarius as an ascendant will make Jupiter extremely important in the life of this individual with Sagittarius on the ascendant. If Libra were the rising sign, then Venus would be very important to this individual. Remember that the ascendant sign is how we relate to the world through our outside expression and the individual with Libra rising would then be very social, very pleasing to meet, would seek harmony and balance in life and would resonate in this way to those that they meet especially during their initial meeting. The final Dispositor is the planet which other planets depend on and this planet will have a profound affect in our lives. In the example we used at the start of this post, Pluto will play a prominent role in the unfolding of this individual and Pluto will have assistance from Jupiter. As a result, these two planetary links provide the needed stimulus to propel this individual forward to reach their life’s objectives. Transformations will play a big part in that unfolding. Follow your chain of command and see which planet or planets affect you in a direct and creative manner. This will be the driving force and motivating factor in your life. Uranus’ energies bring about revolution, sudden change, drastic action and awakening. Its action is dramatic and often leads to required development and inspiration or catastrophic change. These developments are brought about through outside forces in our lives which will lead to a much more evolved understanding of our life’s circumstances. Uranus often provides you with insight into what it is in your life that needs changing and suggests a new direction is a requirement for the soul’s development. If you follow through on Uranus’s suggestions, the disruption, although often dynamic, will not be as disruptive and awe-inspiring as it would be if you did not move forward voluntarily into these new dimensions of life. If you are hesitant or refuse to budge from your standpoint, the result is often much more forceful and disruptive. The Midheaven or MC deals with your occupation, your profession and your status in life and is often related to your vocation. It also has to do with status and public recognition and is a very powerful position when transits stimulate it. Your aspirations and dreams are also associated with the MC as well as your ego representation of how you are regarded by others because of what you have or have not accomplished usually in a professional way in life. Your individuality is often a reflection of what you do for a living and the standards you set for yourself. These are linked to the Midheaven as well as the Ascendant, although the Ascendant is more of an outward expression of whom you are—the you as seen by the public. When Uranus makes a conjunction (conjunctions emphasis whatever they are transiting) your career is subject to change. If you have been content or happy about how life is moving along with regards to your career, this conjunction may provide you with even more opportunities and recognition for your efforts. If your work and career opportunities have been stifled and you need a change of scenery, this will probably be the time when these changes come to the surface. Uranus wants to break free of anything that has been restricting growth and limiting you. It seeks out new things and pushes you in a direction, although not often by choice, to move you to a new path. Uranus although often disruptive is known as the awakener and forces you to open your eyes and see things as they are. Uranus often makes you realize that a new direction is inevitable, so why not move forward now. The midheaven is also related to the parents and when Uranus conjuncts, squares or makes any major aspect to this position, it is quite possible that you will see changes coming to them. The harder aspects often suggest changes of an unsettling nature. The easier aspects such as the trine and sextile and sometimes the conjunction may offer opportunities and pleasant change for them. This could relate to either of your parents although the most dynamic one is usually the one that will be impacted by this aspect. With all this information in mind and when you are about to go into a transit of importance affecting the MC, you may be more ready for change and you can use these energies appropriately to help you move in the intended direction. Remember Astrology points the way but in most cases you are at the wheel. You have opportunities to make these changes for yourself or at the very least have the potential to direct your thoughts on and attitude towards how you want to be affected by life’s conditions. It is important to pay attention to our body and its reaction to life. Our body will tell us when something is out of sort and also when we need to find balance. Paying attention and over-reacting are two completely different approaches to our physical condition. Some can become obsessive with the body and all its functions and intricacies. They notice every quirk and minor malfunction or ailment and become overly concerned leaning towards anxieties and obsessions with their health. We can use our bodies as a gauge on how we are reacting to events and people in our lives. When life is out of balance and we begin taking on too much (This not only include things that are conflicting and harmful for us, but also when we become overly influenced by stimuli in life) and mentally, physically and spiritually we are pushed beyond our healthy capacities, the body will reflect this in one way or another. Negativity can have profound effects on the body and when we choose to deal with these issues without owning them, we notice that we no longer feel weighted down. There are also times when life runs perfectly and we overdo a good thing. This might sound rather obscure, but sometimes we burn the candle at both ends. We tend to all conditions and events to infiltrate our calm and balance the more challenging they are. We can become so wrapped in life’s situations that we become ill because of them.
