Transiting Uranus will be in the sign of Aries for about one more year. It is in the later degrees now. This post will apply to anyone who has their natal Venus in Aries at any degree. Venus’ energies are gentle and mild-mannered. They represent love, compassion and are social. In the sign of Aries, these energies take on a new flavour. Although Venus’ energies may still be loving, compassionate and social, it will maneuver in a much more aggressive manner under Aries’ influence. Someone with Venus is Aries can become quite aggressive in their pursuit especially when connected to love and romance. This is not a gentle placement for Venus. Emotional baggage is exhausting to evaluate in order to overcome but especially to carry around unresolved. To overcome our baggage, our minds have to play with information and actually face whatever events have taken place. Once we have faced these events, we have to go through a process deciphering what has taken place. We have to be able to categorizing these event or situation so they fit nicely into our emotional boxes and if we have the energy to continue, we have to make a decision as to what will be done to recover from the event. The mind plays with the information creating interference and more often than not, our minds make the matter much worse than they actually were. Our minds, over time, can also build on the information and exaggerate the original experience. Many of us have experienced events that have been very devastating. These events have caused emotional wounds that run very deep. With most events in life, we have little control over the actual event but we do have control over how we process and deal with these events. Do we accept or do we fight the process? It is important to separate ourselves from these events. They are not who we are. We do not own these events. They do not dictate how we feel unless we allow this. Letting go or accepting can be one of the most challenging actions we can do (especially when it comes to losing loved ones). We certainly need time to process and to adjust to our new lives but acceptance is important. We will never forget but we can accept and this is essential in order to be able to move forward with living. When we are called upon to move in new directions, no matter what the reason, the changes can be massive and the adjustment period can be challenging. We CAN adapt however. It is part of our nature. The end of any one condition no matter what it is always brings with it a beginning of something new. A part of us, deep within, will understand that the transformation is a requirement and sometimes life changes dramatically so that we can move out of complacency or a place of stagnation to find what is necessary for our own personal spiritual growth (and we are certainly not specifically speaking of someone’s death. Our reference is general). Everything in life happens for a reason, although we may not always be able to figure this out. The answers often unfold over time and the why behind things begins to make sense (but not always). As mentioned, this could involve losing a loved one, but it could also be expressed in many other ways. We might step out of a relationship of significance or someone may leave us when we believed that the conditions were good. Sometimes we have to make changes to our occupation. Sometimes we need to physically move away from those that we love and are comfortable with. The possibilities are endless. Change, however, is inevitable. It can come when we least expect it. We will experience the energies of the new Moon on May 25, 2017. The energies of a New Moon are conducive to new beginnings. Review the characteristics of the energies of Gemini. By doing this, you are working with the energies that will easily flow for you specifically. In six months from now, during the Full Moon in Gemini, you should realize your goals as this will be the harvest of whatever you plant under the current New Moon. If, for example, you have been thinking about starting a project based on writing or teaching, this period could mark the prep time so that you can prepare and step into the process at the end of the year. Gemini speaks of versatility, changeability and adaptability. As a result, you can expect this subject or project to undergo some transformations along the way. Change is inevitable or at the very least most likely. Move forward with this in mind as it will prevent you from being let down when you make changes and adapt as you move along. Jupiter is known as the great benefactor and often bestows good luck, good fortune and expansion into everything it touches. The Sun moves into the sign of Gemini on May 21, 2017. The following characteristics can be applied to those with their Sun in Gemini as well as those with Gemini as their Rising Sign. Although the rest of the chart can modify these natal characteristics, the Sun is generally representative of inner traits which may be reflected outward to some extent. The rising sign is indicative of character traits that are visible to everyone and always outwardly expressed. The rising sign is your outward expression…the face you show to the world. The Sun sign characteristics, although they carry the same tendencies, can be modified by the rising sign. We recently touched on planets and their effects when they are applying and separating in the natal chart. http://www.holmastrology.com/apps/blog/show/44468312-applying-and-separating-aspects-in-the-natal-chart Due to the number of enquiries we received on this topic, we are expanding on that post to include transiting planets. When two planets are beginning to form an aspect, regardless of the type of aspect, this is termed an applying aspect. When the angle between the two planets is beginning to detach from one another or move apart this is known as a separating aspect. The fastest moving planet (the planet closest to the Sun) is the planets considered to be approaching or applying the other planet. For example Mars and Saturn coming together to form an aspect; Mars will be the faster moving planet. Another example would be Venus and Pluto; Venus would be the faster moving planet. Retrograde motion depending on which planets are involved can change this. When a planet is approaching or applying another planet, we begin to intuitively feel the energies and may feel that something is about to take place. This could something quite exciting taking hold or there could be the feeling that things are about to fall apart; much depends on the planetary energies as well as the aspect that is being formed. The faster moving planet is always the one that is stirring things up, the feeling that something is about to happen or the feeling that you should make a move on something. The slower moving planet’s energies produce the lesson or could be considered the planet that is shaping the experience at hand. If for example Mars and Pluto are moving into opposition with one another, Mars will be stirring up feelings that something may happen in regards to sexual expression, even a feeling of danger, or action of some type, while Pluto will be saying that a transformation is about to take hold. Prepare yourself for some disruption or potential irreversible change. Your inner being may be challenged to make changes. Because of the opposition this may stem from someone else rather than you initiating these changes. The energies of the planets involved begin to intensify as they come closer to being at the same degree, and the heightened sensitivity becomes more apparent. As they begin to move apart the feeling associated with what took place begin to dissipate and you may feel relieved that the situation is now passing or rejoice in what took place. There is a sense of excitement which may deal with many areas of life, as the aspect tightens to become exact (this is when the two planets are in exactly the same degree) In a natal chart, the transiting (current position) planet will always be the one moving towards the natal (position at birth) position, as the natal planet does not move from its original position at birth. Take into consideration the planet’s positions in your natal chart. The transiting planet making the aspect to the natal planetary placement will define the areas of life involved in the process. As they separate, things will settle and you should have made adjustments to what took place. The energies of the planets involved can be felt as much as 5-7 degrees approaching and will be finalized about 2-3degrees beyond (separating) the exact degree. The exact degree with most planets will be when the experience’s energies are at their heightened point. We all veer off path from time to time or so it feels. These apparent path distractions are in fact in line with what is required at that particular point in time. You could consider these rest periods, verification of your intended course, a time to re-evaluate your current course, etc. So in fact, varying from your intended course is in fact not only necessary but a requirement of the soul to put you on the path that is relevant at this time or to confirm that you are exactly where you need to be. These periods may seem like setbacks. Much depends on your attitude about what is transpiring and what you choose to do with the information that you received. You could choose to ignore what is being presented, examine your present situation to figure out how to move forward or you could choose to make some changes or change direction completely. Your path is always in your hands, but it is essential to recognize that whatever you do decide to do, there are no wrong turns in life. There are short paths and there are long paths but all paths lead to your ultimate destination. If you feel as though you are off path, take the time to understand why you feel the way you do and what alternate plans you could adhere to so that you get back to a place that feels more comfortable for you. It is a natural process. Sometimes is feels as though life gets in the way but remember we are here to live in human form. If you feel you are off course, do not be dismayed. Reassess where you are heading. Make minor adjustments if you feel it is necessary and be comfortable with your journey. Do not worry about the speed of your progress.
