Transiting Jupiter moves approximately 1° every five days, so its impact, giving a 5° approaching orb and a 2° separating orb, will be approximately one month.  If it goes retrograde, this period can last longer.  Jupiter goes retrograde for approximately four months moving about 10°.  While in retrograde, quite often we will gain increased recognition and some luck in obtaining benefits.  While direct, its energies are more rewarding and it provides growth, expansion and general good luck.

This placement of Jupiter is a positive alignment, and when in place opportunities are at hand but utilize these energies in order to advance with whatever your plans involve.  Sitting idle is a complete waste of these energy. In some cases, however, things just seem to fall in place on their own, especially if what you have been doing leading up to this have been tedious and it now seems as though things have settled down.

What does transiting Jupiter square natal midheaven suggest in an Astrology chart?

Transiting Jupiter carries with it potential for growth and expansion when it touches other planets or angles in the natal chart.  All angles from Jupiter promote the potential for something good to come out of almost any situation.  The planet or angle which is aspected by Jupiter will of course have to be evaluated within the framework of the natal chart, but in general, Jupiter’s energies are what we look forward to while in transit.

When Jupiter makes a square to our midheaven, although the square is considered a challenging aspect, with some work, we now have the possibility of promoting ourselves in our career, with our goals and aspirations, potentially with our status in life and getting recognition where we might not have had received credit previously.

Jupiter moves relatively quickly, usually moving about 1° every 4-5 days, and we allow a 3-5° approaching orb and a 2-3° separating orb of influence. Accordingly, this aspect might last 3-4 weeks.  Much will depend on whether Jupiter moves into retrograde while passing over our midheaven degree.  If it does, the energy created by Jupiter will extend a little longer, and we will have time to review what we are setting out to accomplish.

Jupiter promise growth and potentially favorable conditions, but because of the square, there may be obstacles in the way or what you might define as slow progress.  There may be times when you feel as though you will not accomplish what you are trying to do, but, with the right amount of perseverance and a steady approach, your chances of success on some level are good. You may not reach your highest objectives, but you can still achieve during this period.

There may be difficulties getting your point across or you might find that if you are applying for a promotion or raise that you have other people competing with you or perhaps someone in authority may question your abilities.  The worst that can come from this period is a time of testing, or a time of lessons learned through this experience. The lessons learned can be used as steppingstones maneuvering your way forward.

If you have planets connected to your MC (Midheaven), especially those that are conjunct, you will need to take into consideration what these planets’ impacts may be on your MC. The sign on the cusp of your MC along with other significators within the chart will also add insight into the potential of what your aspirations might be. Take everything into consideration within the chart to help define what you should be doing with respect to your career options. 

The midheaven extension is a process that helps define what our objective in life might be and what type of work would be best suited for us.  Sometimes our goals and objectives do not line up with our choice of career.

URANUS SQUARE JUPITER

We will focus on Transiting Uranus square Natal Jupiter in this post.

Uranus Square Jupiter

Currently (February 2024) Uranus is moving through Taurus and will remain in Taurus until April 2026.  The square from Uranus will affect those with their Jupiter in Aquarius and Leo.  Currently Uranus is at 19 ° Taurus and will affect those with their Jupiter within range of this degree and as it advances, it will affect those with the later degrees of Jupiter in one of these two signs.

Uranus disrupts the current conditions in life which have become redundant and needs change.  It can act on impulse but quite often we get indicators that something needs revamping as it no longer works as it should.  These can be all kinds of circumstances which will be defined clearly by the house placement of transiting Uranus and natal positionings of Jupiter and Uranus in the birth chart.

Uranus will create conditions so that you can break free and start anew.  Sometimes all that is needed is a change of direction in part or a re-evaluation of what is now in place so you can make adjustments.  Uranus is not like Pluto; Pluto requires total change while Uranus asks us to look first then adjust.  Sometimes these adjustments are total but often just reframing what is in place is enough to move in a new direction.

Uranus is known as the awakener, and this is what it does.  It makes us aware of deficiencies within the framework of our lives and asks us to adjust.  Sometimes we get pushes along the path and if we do not make the required alterations then Uranus can act in a quite overwhelming manner.  These changes are necessary, however, and over the next year or so we will understand why things happened as they did or why we made the moves we made.

Squares are irritating enough that they push us into action.  Transiting Uranus, for example, might be sitting on the MC affecting our career or life path.  It can change our direction or make changes to the way we live our life if it is associated with the Ascendant.  It can change direction or make changes to our marriage or a business partnership if it is connected to the seventh house, the home environment and family members if connected to the IC and the list goes on.  Finances are subject to change if the second house is involved, and communication will be adjusted if the third house is part of the picture.

If Uranus is in square to your Jupiter, then you can expect things to change in new directions with your religious inclinations, with your outlook on life, with your life philosophies.  Perhaps you feel the urge to travel or enhance your schooling and although the challenge might come with some adversity, your potential for growth and expansion, along with viable results, are possible if you follow through. 

Much good can come from this alignment but not without some form of challenge to learn from.
