SOLAR AND LUNAR ECLIPSES

We have two luminary Eclipses that affect humankind and likely all other species on earth. 

The energy influence of a Solar Eclipse and a Lunar Eclipse are both said to last approximately 6 months.  Some say the Solar Eclipse lasts longer than the Lunar Eclipse stretching into one year of influence.  The strongest period of influence is about 4-6 weeks after the eclipse and some individuals can feel the energies prior to the actual event as well.

The Solar Eclipse always occurs during the New Moon and is said to expand in its energy over a period of some six months as mentioned above.  It will impact your chart if it is within 3° of any planet in your birth chart, particularly the Sun and Moon.  It will also highly affect your Ascendant and Midheaven.  Its prime push is, with some impulsive action on our part, to create new beginning. 

Sometimes we are aware of what needs to begin and other times it can happen very unexpectedly. Because of this, it is suggested that you wait for things to settle before making any sudden or major changes to your life that may be regretted after this energy has subsided.  Opportunities often present themselves, and in some cases rather dynamically.  It may be hard to hold back as sometimes it feels very appropriate to move ahead with what seems to be the right choice under the influence of a Solar eclipse.

The Lunar Eclipse always happens when we are having a Full Moon, which suggests that it is time to shed things that no longer suit our evolutionary growth.  Sometimes things surface that may have been hidden in the past or swept under the proverbial carpet.  We need to let go and move forward.  This can be a challenging situation and the emotions will run high.  It can bring a complete and sometimes sudden end to things, although in some cases we might already have been aware of this coming. 

Once again, change can happen suddenly and unexpectedly. We should take our time if at all possible.  Sometimes things just happen that seem destined and almost out of our control.   

Some people fear the Solar and Lunar eclipses. In most cases, these events bring forward what is needed. 

The houses in your Astrology chart that are touched by the eclipse and the planetary energies will provide the information needed to have an idea of what to expect.  This can be an especially significant event if other transits and progressions mirror what is suggested when these events take place.

Our next eclipse will take place on August 12, 2026 at 20° in the sign of Leo.  If you have any planets or angles involving this degree, most importantly the Conjunction and Opposition, the energies will have an impact on your chart.

2026 ASPECTS FOR SUN IN LEO

2026 ASPECTS FOR SUN IN LEO

Today, we are focusing on the 2026 Aspect for Sun in Leo.

Over the next year or so, those with their Sun in Leo (depending on the degree of their Sun) will have their Sun making a Trine to transiting Neptune and Saturn as well as a Sextile to Transiting Uranus.  These aspects are considered quite favorable and should make life a little easier for those with their Sun in the degrees aspecting these outer planetary movements. 

Neptune (in Aries) and Uranus (in Gemini) are in the early degrees of the sign, while Saturn moves from 0 to 14° (in the sign of Aries for the 120° trine). We will not go into detail on these aspects as this article would be far too extensive.

We will discuss the energies of Transiting Pluto which is also in the early degrees in Opposition (180°) to early degree Sun in Leo, and Jupiter making a Conjunction (0°) to those with their Sun in Leo beginning June 30 and moving into retrograde on December 12, 2026.

Jupiter then goes direct again April 12, 2027.  Jupiter goes as far as 27° Leo and moves down as far back as 16° before turning direct again. This will affect anyone with their Sun through any of these degrees at different periods throughout Jupiter’s movement in Leo.

Jupiter expands on energy related to the Sun during this period and often brings good luck and fortunate conditions to life as it makes direct contact with your Sun.  Events in the areas of life indicated by house position will move along favorably, and you can benefit from this.  Of course, the Natal potential is realized during this time but much depends on the other natal aspects to the position of your Leo Sun. You also have to take into consideration how Natal Jupiter is aspected and its house position in the natal astrology chart to get a clearer picture of what might unfold during this time frame.

This may affect your goals in life, life’s passage forward, opportunities in personal terms, physical health and matters pertaining to your growth which can be favorable during this timeframe.

Now to Pluto which is making an Opposition in the early degrees of those with their Sun in Leo brings attention often from others or related to others on the course of your choosing.  Transformation is at hand and a new direction in life may be revealed.  Most Astrologer look at the Opposition as a challenging aspect and I agree, but at the same time, what takes hold in life, which is often out of your control, over time, takes you to where you need to go, no matter how it may look in the beginning.  It will likely take about 2 years to understand the process of what unfolded over this period. 

The 2026 aspects for Sun in Leo suggest changes take place in personal terms and the potential for ego disputes is higher than normal.  Do not sit back and do nothing. Pay attention to the underlying energies taking place. How is this moving you forward?

This is a learning process and often quite significant as others point the way. We are taught by our reaction to what takes hold.
