It can be somewhat challenging when after a lifetime of listening and adhering to your ego that you begin to recognize and hear the quiet soothing voice that radiates love and compassion from within. The ego searches for ways to weaken our resolve and tells us often that no such inner personality exists and that we are under its total control. When we learn to listen to the inner voice for guidance and assistance it becomes louder and stronger and the ego loses its grip. It can take time to reach this place of understanding and we will be tempted during the process to let go and give up. We will be experiencing the energies of the Full Moon in the sign of Capricorn on the 19th of July. The Full Moon suggests that it is time to harvest the seeds that you planted during the new Moon in Capricorn six months ago. The energies of the Full Moon help to bring your plans into fruition. Uranus’ is a very revolutionary planet as its energies seek freedom of expression and have a strong desire to remove themselves from anything that has gone stale or no longer serves a viable purpose. Uranus’ energy acts in an unexpected manner and you can never be totally sure how it will react under pressure. Under most conditions, the area of life being affect by Uranus is the house it is transiting through especially in the retrograde cycle. There is often a feeling that something has to change or be shaken up somewhat before its actual expression is activated. Quite often you get warnings of necessary changes in the area of life under review and then when it turns direct either you make the necessary changes or life makes things happen for you. If you choose to do nothing then life will often take a leading role and quite often it is not overly pleasant in its expression. Peer pressure applies to all age group. Although most of us associated peer pressure with the formative years, many of us allow this pressure to influence us well into our adult years. Fitting into their group of friends is very important to most people. Unfortunately, we act as we “think” others expect us to act and as a result, we stray at times far from our “real” self just to feel as though we fit in. We display a different image to each individual we meet. There does come a time, however, that we begin to understand our own uniqueness and we slowly disconnect ourselves from the need to be as others think we should be. In reality most other people do not see us the way we see ourselves. Ask ten people to define who you are and you will receive ten different descriptions. So at some point you will have to ask yourself who are you really trying to please. In our process of trying to please, we lose ourselves along the way but eventually we begin a search for self. We realize we are lost within ourselves. If we are honest, we must admit that the best person we can be is who we truly are. The difficulty with self acceptance lies in filtering out what it is we like and dislike about who we are. Self-awareness is a process that can be very painful, but arriving at an honest solution is the first step in making desired changes to who you want to be. You cannot change anything about yourself until you become aware of who you actually are. If we take an honest look of the core person, we will discover many, many character traits that are quite admirable. To assist in allowing true development, take a moment and write down, with complete honesty, all challenging personality quirks as well as the encouraging character traits. This will assist in initiating the process. Acknowledgement is step one. As you uncover these characteristics decide whether you want them to be part of the new you or something that you no longer want to identify with. Each time we notice unwanted reactions, we must reminder ourselves that this reaction is not who we are. It takes time for this awakening to unfold but the process has begun. In six months from now, again take notes on what your positive character traits are and what unwanted conditions exist. Compare the two notes. You will be amazed at the rapid change that has taken place and how much more comfortable you are with the true you. Yes; it does takes time, but it is well worth the effort. Happiness is a choice. We are continuing our look at the energies created from transiting Uranus on the IC (Imum Coeli which is Latin for the bottom of the sky) from July 8. When Uranus moves into the fourth house, changes can occur that can affect the whole family or just one individual, often a parent. If this change primarily affects one of the parents, it will usually be the most submissive parent. The fourth and tenth house axis is known as a parental axis. This will primarily be a learning period although change in some fashion or another is often a by-product. As the fourth is connected to your roots, quite often issues surface that need alignment during this time and we are forced to deal with them head on. There is no chance of letting them pass by and Uranus not only suggests that they need dealing with, but lets us know in no uncertain terms that we need to deal with them now. This could be related to a parent’s influence, early upbringing, early schooling and feelings of self-worth due to these circumstances. Changes to the occupation are quite common, moves into new surroundings and sometimes a change of relationship also is part of the equation. As trying as some of these changes may be, they are necessary as life needs to shift directions in order to facilitate growth. Uranus is all about change and disruption and although its actions can be sudden and can sneak up without notice, exciting or fearful, they are required changes. Uranus is also very impulsive and when it acts, its action is instantaneous and unexpected, so be prepared, but do not look ahead in the future in fear of what might happen as not only is it a requirement but you will be quite happy that it took place once complete. Have a look at how Uranus is aspected in the birth chart and if it is poorly aspected things may be a little challenging. If it is well aspected you will probably be prompted to move ahead without any drastic influence coming from outside forces. You always have little hints before the energies push you ahead in your intended direction. Check to see if there are other planets linked to the IC as they will also provide you with information as to how these energies might unfold. These planetary energies will mold and mix together as one. Check to see where Uranus is in your natal chart as this will also give you further information. The transit of Uranus on the IC (Imum Coeli, latin for bottom of the sky), can have erratic effects in your life especially if it is stationary or goes retrograde over this specific degree in your Chart. Uranus, the awakener, will often work in ways that are totally unexpected creating upheaval and change in your life. Uranus is unconventional in its behaviour. It is known as the bohemian of the Zodiac, and you can safely say that with Uranus anything is possible. Expect the unexpected is a common phrase used by Astrologers when describing the effects of a powerful Uranus transit. Uranus suggests, at least at first, that you review your life and make changes to old and outdated ways of living. These changes are a requirement of the soul from a deep level and if you do not make the necessary adjustments, life will make the changes in a more dramatic manner for you. You can either make the moves when appropriate or ride the wave that life will create to make the change. Uranus will turn your life around, but in the end it will be a positive and in ways that are necessary. Uranus along with the Progressed Moon and often Mars and sometimes the Sun can be used as timers when deciphering what might happen in your life. Uranus in particular is used as a timer and quite often events unfold on the day it is directly making an aspect to a position in the natal chart or progressed chart, or when it makes an aspect to another planet in either of these charts, particularly when in conjunction. During the conjunction, there will be a blending of these energies and quite often something takes place particularly if this planet is also conjunct one of the angles (MC, ASC, IC, DC). With Uranus transiting into the fourth house (and it is particularly strong as it crosses the IC), often the family, the home and issues left unresolved from the pass are highlighted. Remember that Uranus in its transit also has an effect on the opposite end of the spectrum (the MC) and often the working environment and your goals in life are part of the equation. As an example, a specific Chart that was prepared for an client during this transit was unexpectedly packaged off from a long career spanning over 30 years on the exact day that Uranus passed over the IC. Not only was the working environment changed forever, (Uranus impact is usually permanent) but the home base also had to adapt to these changes and the home environment changed significantly for this individual. Although this individual often felt pushed to leave the job, fear of the unexpected held them back, so life took over and completed the soul’s requirement for change. After some adjustment, life did changed forever for this individual and the new life was exactly what was required in their ongoing growth. The working environment was actually stagnating this growth and because nothing was done to make changes by this client, the energies of Uranus took hold and altered the situation. This is an perfect expression of how Uranus and its unpredictability can disrupt life and change the course of things on a very permanent basis. We are continuing our post from July 4, 2016 on Neptune passing over the IC and entering into the fourth house. To review, we have discussed how Neptune tends to cloud things and whatever it touches is seldom clear and the direction life will take you in is likely yet to be understood. Neptune may also prove to cause issues when you are trying to decide which part of your life deserves more attention, the working environment and your career (MC) or your family and home life (IC). There is often a discrepancy with trying to decide which way to move forward and one area of life seems to get in the way of the other area of life. Although all outer planets call for your attention and often instigate some needed change, often enacted through some stressful conditions, Neptune can also be insightful and inspirational. During this period of Neptune crossing the IC, you may experience an awakening of sorts and you may be able to dive deeper into your core identity and understand what circumstances from your past have brought you to where you are now. This can be a profound awakening period in your life. With an understanding of what has brought you to where your life is now, doors can be opened for you. Periods of your life may have been painful, but you are now able to delve into these areas to find solutions to situations that have held you back previous. Much of your past can be exposed and understood now. You can use this insight to facilitate growth on many levels. Do not waste this opportunity. If we allow ourselves a few moments to reflect on who we are, without criticism, only paying attention to our most positive traits, what do we see? How does this positive knowing fit into our perceived notion of who we are? What frame of mind is this attitude originating from? You have to take an honest look at who we think we are. Once we are being open to this thinking, we can eliminate or disengage ourselves from any preconceived negative ideas we hang on to. We are products of the concepts that we identify with. We believe that our “perceived impressions” are who we truly are. We are misled by notions that any perceived negative manifestation must be a part of who we are. We are in a constant state of “becoming” and what we believe to be true, we create as our identity because through perpetual focus, we create. If there is something in our makeup that clearly misrepresents who we want to be, then it is in our hands to make a conscious choice as to whether we will allow this characteristic to manifest on a physical and mental level. We are not at the mercy of our beliefs, unless we believe that we have no control over what transpires in our lives. Who we think we are is true evidence of this. Who we think we are now is a formulation of our current beliefs and it creates the perception we have of ourselves today. We have manufactured this identity and it is our identification with this that allows us to perceive it as real. We use the term “identify” over and over again. If we understand the fact that our identification is what makes it so, we will understand why this term is used so frequently. It makes us aware of the control we have over situations in our lives and the manufacturing of our perception of who we are becoming. If there is something within us that does not sit well or does not feel right, we can let it go and stop believing that it is part of us. We are the only person that makes anything in life truth for us personally. We manifest our beliefs over time and where we are and who we are now flows in conjunction with what we have allowed into our consciousness. The saying goes “We become who we associate with”. We are told this early in life. We are told to pick our friends carefully as it is easy to form ourselves into what is in front of us. However, we have actually chosen to take this characteristic from our friend and to make it our own. It is all too easy to mirror what we see regularly. Just as our thoughts, we mirror or manifest into our personality that which we think. We control the building of concrete materials and characteristics into our lives. Do not place responsibility on others for what you experience in your life. What has happened in the past is in the past. What we do, say, think, feel today is a product of a choice we are making today. Let the events of yesterday stay where they belong..... in the past. When we learn to channel our focus and our identification of self, our focus materializes our new reality. The choice is ours. Look within and find what feels comfortable, what feels right. Hold on to those qualities. Let go of anything that does not resonate in our core. We can release ourselves from the grips of these qualities. We have been practicing this exercise our whole lives but not fully understanding our ability to choose and create. Now it is time to understand that we are manifesting our own reality on a conscious level through our intentions and focus. The IC or Imum Coeli ("bottom of the sky" in Latin) is exact opposite of the Midheaven in our Astrology Chart and in most charts (depending on the house system used) is located on the Fourth House cusp. When Neptune crosses our IC, particularly if it goes retrograde or stations on our IC, its effects can be quite intense, even though Neptune’s natural energies are often subtle in their expression. If it moves into retrograde on or shortly past the IC in our chart, it will pass over the same degree three times until it finally stays direct and moves into our fourth house. Neptune moves slowly and can have quite a profound effect on us as its influence can last several months and sometimes even last for a few years in one specific area of our chart. We can undoubtedly “imagine” (Neptune pun) its powerful influence and affect. Neptune is the planet of inspiration, imagination, psychic intuition and deep, profound visions. It is also the planet of deceit, hallucinations, foggy information and its energies can influence the potential misuse of drugs and alcohol to escape the harsh realities of life. The IC and fourth house have to do with our home and family. Its energies also relate to our roots and early life experience. It deals with our heredity, our origin and when connected with Neptune, our subconscious. We should look at how Neptune will affect the opposite area of our chart, which is the tenth house. The tenth house deals primarily with our occupation, our aspirations in life, the goals we set for ourselves and our public reputation. The tenth house is a very public house, while the fourth house is very private and deals with our most intimate life. The fourth house also deals with the most submissive parent. Some Astrologers say that it identifies the Mother; others say it identifies the father. Quite often Neptune tends to cloud things and whatever it touches is seldom clear and the direction life will take us in is yet to be understood. When Neptune crosses into the fourth house and particularly when it moves across the IC, the home life is often shrouded and unclear. Perhaps someone in the family is going through a crisis, and we feel the need to offer assistance. Sometimes the home itself is changed or being altered in some way. Some will move during this time, others will redecorate the home. There may be problems within the family unit or perhaps one of the parents is experiencing a stressful situation. We may not be clear as to what is going on in this area of life. Neptune can make things difficult and the road ahead is often not known or we may feel directionless. Since the subconscious is enhanced by Neptune, this period may bring out early life conditions that have never been dealt with or family concerns that now need to surface. Many will feel confused, even lost during Neptune’s passage into the fourth. If issues come to the surface about the past, it is important to open up and discuss them so that we can clear the air and put them in the proper place once and for all.
