We are continuing our post from October 23, 2020. As mentioned in our previous post, there are two Moon’s Nodes in Astrology, the North Node and the South Node. In the previous post, we touched on the energies of the Nodes and their meanings. Today we will dig a little deeper and look at examples on how the energies would work. When a transiting planet conjuncts the North Node and if for example, it were Uranus, this may be a time when you should follow the desire to break free from any type of restriction that has held you back or stopped you from achieving what the North Node’s energies are suggesting. Because of the transiting Uranus’ influence, this may happen on the spur of the moment and without warning. It may push you in a direction that requires immediate decision-making and the desire for something new and innovative especially if the North Node were in the sign of Aries for example. If Uranus were transiting your South Node, this would suggest that it is not the time to do these things and that you should weigh out all consequences before making any commitment to change and taking a new life direction. It may be a warning that sudden decisions might hamper you later in life. Rash decision making would not be recommended under this example. This example is suggesting that you time to ponder your actions before making any moves regardless of the desire or urge to move ahead in a new direction. You always have to check the house that your North Node and South Node are located in to give you further information about what areas of life are involved. You should also check which house your natal Uranus is in to add to the underlying information being provided to you through your birth chart (with this example of transiting Uranus making an aspect). With the example of Uranus making contact with the South Node, if you take the time suggested (and remember the South Node has similarities to Saturn’s actions) you can make informed decisions rather than jumping, which is what Uranus would want from you in our example. The North Node and Uranus however, would suggest that you take that giant step forward and move towards the intended direction, as the North Node is similar in its action to Jupiter and usually provides good fortune and positive outcomes. Of course, you always need to look at the overall picture of what is happening in your chart before making any life-changing decisions. Rash decisions are seldom a good idea. There are two Moon’s Nodes in Astrology, the North Node and the South Node. The North Node is tied to your life’s direction and the purpose behind this existence. The South Node speaks about a past life significant to this life and/or an area of life that is comfortable because it is natural or familiar to us. Although the South Node is not the path you are to follow in this life, it does not suggest that you should steer clear of the South Node’s impact in your life, as you can use the gained knowledge from the previous incarnation to help you with your current journey. I know some individuals do not believe in past lives so think of the South Node as the talents that come natural to you. We have come into this life to follow the path set out by the North Node and its energies are defined by the sign, house placement, and aspects from other planets or angles to the Nodes. The South Node supplies us with valuable information that we have brought with us which we can utilize in this life. These are the things or information, as mentioned, that just simply come very natural to us. Falling back into the South Node’s energies indicated by its sign and house position may feel comfortable, but we have come to fulfill the purpose of the North Node position. Throughout our life, we will find that events push us in the direction of our North Node energies. The planetary links to the North Node along with any angles (our Ascendant, the MC, the IC, and the DC) that might be tied to the North Node are something that we need to bring forward in this life and learn to use these energies to our advantage. The North Node is said to have similarities to the Sun and Jupiter while the South Node has connections to Saturn. The planets and the aspects that link up to these two Nodes should be treated in the same manner as any other planetary energy in the natal chart. The planetary energies tie in with the Nodes and emphasize what these energies are about, which includes the angles as mentioned earlier. For example, Mars tied to the South Node may indicate that in a previous life we were a fighter or someone with a vile temper, or a leader who governed through dictatorship or force. The North Node tied to Mars may suggest similar conditions and that in this life we are to pursue our objectives with vigor and use our inherent strength to accomplish what we have set out to do. Mars would provide us with the push to address what the sign and house position of the North Node suggests. However, any forceful or aggressive attempts at power are not suggested. It might be a productive idea to raise our shared consciousness and focus our attention in one direction. Our world would be my choice, and I specify “Our World”, because this is one thing we all have in common. Our world and its inhabitants all seem to currently be under duress. Our world and each and every one of its inhabitants need some assistance for recovery. Our hope is to have as many people from all walks of life in as many countries as possible to join as one in the name of love and healing. We would like to set this joint effort up regardless of where you live, so that the energies come together. We can utilize this time to share love, love that surrounds us even when we cannot feel it. On October 22, 2020, the Sun moves into the sign of Scorpio. Scorpio is a fixed, water sign and it is ruled by the planet Pluto, and co-ruled by Mars. As mentioned, Scorpio is a fixed sign suggesting that once a Scorpio individual makes up their mind about something, they will not be swayed. There is a certain amount of power and intensity in the average Scorpio although they are often quiet and subdued. Scorpio is a water sign suggesting that although the emotions are generally kept under wraps, they are very deep and highly emotional, even explosive under the right conditions. There is a great interest in life’s hidden matters, and this includes any mystery, anything that lies beneath the surface and many Scorpio individuals find the occult and spiritual realms fascinating. They are truth seekers and will stop at nothing when digging below the surface to find what they are looking for. These individuals are quite secretive and there is always something within that they are unwilling to share. Some are interested in what could be termed taboo. Sex, death and the afterlife hold great appeal for them. They are ruled by the planet Pluto and Pluto provides great recuperative abilities. Pluto rules the underworld and is often found quite active in charts during times of death and aggression. Many Scorpio individual have great strength and endurance. These individuals want answers and will stop at nothing and often can depend on their innate abilities linked to the psychic realm and subconscious. Transiting Pluto and Saturn are currently in the sign of Capricorn making a sextile to those with their Sun in Scorpio in the later degrees. Pluto transforms and regenerates and adds intensity and when connected to the Sun in Scorpio individual, (such as currently) will change the course of life’s path offering opportunities to build towards something of significance but only after these Scorpio individuals leave behind what no longer serves them. Pluto always puts an end to things as something new needs to begin. In most cases, there are no halfway measures. It is all or nothing. By December 2020, Saturn moves into the sign Aquarius and forms a square to those with their Sun in Scorpio in the early degrees. This is a much more challenging position than when Saturn makes a sextile. Transiting Neptune is in Pisces trine to those with their Sun in Scorpio in the mid to late degrees of Scorpio. Neptune is located currently (October 2020) at 18 degrees Pisces and remains between 18-23 degrees into 2022. This trine aspect suggests that the potential for spiritual insight and potential visitations from the other side would have a much easier flowing than normal. Those with this aspect should open the door, if so inclined, and seek out the truth behind the mysteries of life. Use these energies, Scorpio, to help gain insight into yourself and other worldly things during these connections. Be ready for transformations and those experiencing the Saturn contact, be prepared for a testing period. All energies can work in positive ways. Seldom, while experiencing stressful situations, do we recognize our ability to persevere or our internal strength. We get caught up in life’s events and can be swept along often without realizing that we are even engulfed in our thoughts on these events. We spiral and delve deeper into our thoughts on stressful lessons but for some reason something triggers us, and we realize where we have put ourselves and how deep we have fallen. It is at this time when we ask for help in some manner or another. Some ask for guidance and assistance from higher sources while others reach out to friends or relatives for support. There are those that seek professional guidance and there are others that only needed that realization to move forward on their own. The way that we change the issue does not matter, that fact that we recognize we need to make a change is vital. The transit of Pluto to Venus can manifest in several ways. First and usually foremost it speaks in terms of love and romance. Second, it may speak in terms of our finances, material possessions and in some cases, artistic pursuits. When it comes to love and romance, this connection often brings to the surface challenges within an existing relationship that can, under this influence, be dealt with and rectified. It can deepen and bring more security within this relationship if we deal with things appropriately. If there are problems, they usually stem from ego and power struggles. We will be experiencing a New Moon at 23 degrees in the sign of Libra on October 16, 2020, at 3:31 p.m. Allow a three-degree orb of influence to any planet or angle in your natal chart to 23 degree Libra. The Conjunction, Square and Opposition are the three main aspects to consider and then you can take into consideration the Trine and Sextile. The more challenging the aspects the greater the influence of this New Moon in your chart. Remember to consider the house of the New Moon as well as the planet(s) involved and their house position. A New Moon indicate a fresh start, a time to begin anew and strategize a plan of action that will be matured and ready to be harvested when we reach the next Full Moon in the same sign, some 6 months from now. It is important to take into account the houses involved as this will be the areas of life that can be influenced, and you can set your plans with this in mind. The Moon and Sun are in conjunction with one another during a New Moon cycle and are in opposition with one another in the Full Moon stage. A conjunction to another planet will bring an emphasis to the planet involved, merging the energies. Because this New Moon is in the sign of Libra often relationships are part of the picture. A degree of balancing and fairness will be part of the process. For example, if this conjunction is with Mars and in the eighth house, you may find that there are issues related to joint finances and shared resources or issues related to sexual expression. Mars would cause some level of disagreement and potential aggression and in many cases, you will want to speak your mind but you should also be ready for some challenging response from those involved. Libra is about partnership in business as well, and if the tenth house is involved you may find that your occupation and career or life status and reputation may be involved depending on what aspects are involved and the planets which are part of the picture. Libra however usually aims towards peaceful resolutions, and honesty is imperative. There may be some type of legalities especially if the ninth house in involved and potential health or perhaps a co-worker if the sixth house is part of the process. If this is about an important relationship such as a marriage partner, then perhaps the seventh and/or first house will be involved. If this New Moon is forming an opposition then the likelihood of someone else besides yourself causing issues is heightened. Fairness and justice will be primary, and you might have to make adjustments to get the full picture especially if the twelfth house is involved as there may be an element that is hidden in some way. Although considered a minor aspect the quincunx often speaks of the necessity of adjustment being part of the picture. Minor aspects can also play a role in determining what is in place, but the orb of influence is much tighter and should not be considered unless the degree of separation is less than one degree. You can use these energies in positive ways regardless of the aspect or planets involved, but the more challenging aspects and difficulty of the planets involved the harder a resolution. It should be understood that the more work that is required, the greater the chance for something worthwhile to manifest. Sometimes we get hung up on events in life. We strive to live in the moment but at times forget that our focus has a direct impact on the way we view our world. Worry and anxiety create more of the same and living in that space is anything but comfortable. We tend to get lost in the issues but if we were to take notice, we would realize that whatever worries us is always in the future or in the past. It is difficult to remain optimistic when we focus on lack or hard lessons, but we CAN refocus at any time once we take note of where our mind is at. We will first have to become aware of our focus and then re-direct. Do not attempt to ignore or escape from what is causing stress or anxiety. This only gives strength to your focus. We actually bring more of the issue to the table by trying not to think about the issues. Instead of worrying about health for example or relationships for another example look to the opposite. If you are concerned about health, see a doctor and think in terms of good health, perhaps the inner strength and resilience you have or what you can do to alleviate these conditions. Exercise or healthy eating will bring health to higher levels, but a positive reinforcing statement regardless of how it seems at the time will bring a good focus on health. “I am healthy, strong and able to repair any conditions” or “I am healthy and resilient and will build in strength each day”. Find your own positive reaffirmation and say it in front of the mirror each and every day. In the beginning it may feel somewhat uncomfortable, but it does get easier. You can use positive reinforcement in any situation. Our positive reinforcements do not have to be used for just solving an issue. For example, if you have been looking to develop psychic and intuitive abilities and inspirational advancement, you can say “I am a spiritual being brought into this life to build psychic awareness”. The more you reinforce this, the more it builds over time. Think of what potential lies ahead by living in the now in terms of positive reinforcement. It builds and becomes easier over time. You will notice a difference almost immediately. It is time to strengthen you “focus” muscle and build on what is good for you. Possibilities await and potential unfolds. The planet Mercury moves into its retrograde cycle on October 14, 2020, and remains in this cycle until November 3. Mercury will be in the sign Scorpio at 11 degrees and moves back to 25 degree Libra over this retrograde period. All planets except for Saturn do not perform at their best when in retrograde motion. Mercury rules communication and can have an impact on travel and has to do with written contracts. In many cases when Mercury is in retrograde, it causes delays and challenges sometimes creating disappointment and uncertainty when dealing with the matters that Mercury rules. While in its retrograde cycle, Mercury seems to have a much stronger effect on those that have it retrograde in their birth charts and also those individuals who have planets in the birth chart that are close to the varying degrees Mercury moves through during the retrograde cycle. Due to Mercury being retrograde, it will pass through these degrees making aspects (use the conjunction, square and opposition) to planets. This can create challenging issues related to matters such as the signing of documents, making plans and starting projects or moving ahead with these projects. Mercury will impact these planets three times while in retrograde, once in direction motion and again when it crosses the same degree in retrograde and then once again when it returns to its direct motion. Many people fear Mercury while it is in retrograde as it seems to create frustration and delays. The ideal way of handling Mercury’s energies would be to wait until it goes into its direct motion before moving ahead. However, you should not put your life on hold if things are already in motion. You can expect some degree of challenges in many cases. This is a great time to review and examine any projects if possible. Sit back and take some time to analyze the situation before plunging ahead. Be more flexible with your plans whenever possible. It has been noted that intuition is often high at these times and you may feel things before they happen or just know when something is wrong. Do not become overly concerned as it is not an end all situation when Mercury is retrograde. Sometimes plans just needs minor adjustment before you make the final decision. Do not sign on the dotted line until you review all the details and are certain. If your intuition does play into it then listen to what is being suggested. However, when reviewing your chart and if Neptune plays a significant role in negative terms, watch out for your imagination to have a role in what unfolds. Take your time, reanalyze and review. Many feel that our freedom is being compromised with confinement requirements due to the pandemic and that the whole epidemic situation is largely exaggerated. The Ascendant in our natal chart is formulated by our time of birth, while the Midheaven is formulated by our place of birth. The Ascendant in short defines our external expression to the world. It is what a person sees when we first meet them. It can define our appearance, can denote our grandparents, speaks of our vitality (along with the Sun and other components in our natal chart) and is often quite different from our Sun sign expression. If we have a soft Sun sign like Capricorn or Pisces, an Ascendant sign of Aries or Leo will over-ride some of the more soft character traits or more subdued traits defined by these Sun signs. This is why some people do not identify well with their Sun sign or visa versa, do not identify well with their Rising sign. When we are describing our Ascendant sign it is important to take into consideration its natural ruler and which house this ruler resides in, within our natal chart. For example, if you have a rising sign (Ascendant sign) of Capricorn, you will have to see where its ruler (Saturn) is placed in your natal chart. Once you locate this house position, you will be able to further define how you represent yourself including Saturn and its significant characteristics as well as how this would be defined in its house position. Saturn for example, suggesting a Capricorn Ascendant, found in the second house, depending on the aspects to Saturn, may suggest a critical view of the potential for success in finances, or if favourably aspected, a secure financial foundation. If poorly aspected, this may surface as someone who has low self-esteem, someone who is unsure of themselves, and in turn, creating security issues, which may be reflected in their ability to do well when it comes to financial matters. Someone with a favourably placed Saturn in the second house may do well in the financial world, building a solid financial base over time and as a result feel secure about themselves. Our example is just one expression of how Saturn might be reflected in the second house and it is important to know that although Saturn will often suggest challenging conditions linked to the area of life where it is found (house position) we can always find ways to work our way through these obstacles. Saturn usually means that there are lessons in that area of life as well as gain secured through a diligent effort on our part. Saturn is the disciplinarian but it is also the teacher and our greatest ally to the building of a solid structure as time passes. Saturn often delays or restricts, but can be quite favourable once we decide to work at what needs our attention. Another example might be someone with a Sagittarius Ascendant with Jupiter in the fourth house in their natal chart. This individual might appear to be overly optimistic, a freedom lover, a believer in finding the truth, a philosopher to others, and someone who may say things without considering what impact their words may have on others (foot in mouth disease). When we take into consideration Jupiter in the fourth house, these attributes may be seen through family and friends or they may try to push these qualities or learned experiences onto their family. They may also find luck and opportunities somehow related to their home environment perhaps earning potential through property or good luck attached to the home or land investments. Adding to this information in our example, in their outer expression, these Sag Rising individuals may be verbal about their family and proud of their heritage and may also be optimistic about their family and proud of their children’s attributes. They may also come across as caring and nurturing as well as psychic in their expression, remembering that the natural ruler of the fourth house is Cancer. While in the former example the natural ruler of the second is Taurus, so building a proper foundation would be important for this individual and they may also be somewhat withdrawn or appear to be holding back in their expression. Our personal road of life can be littered with challenging conditions and difficult situations. It is our obligation to ourselves to learn the lessons put in front of us and to see them as that. They are not meant to be complications; they are lessons for us to learn to the best of our abilities and to provide us with motivation. Regardless of the lessons (even if we choose to see them as obstacles that stand in our way), it is imperative to move forward. There will be times when we believe we have no way out and our options are limited at best. It is during these times that we have to remain diligent and know that the most challenging of these lessons/situations can still be learned and overcome with a positive and focused attitude. Some conditions in life offer no way out except our acceptance of the situation. These may be lifelong lessons. Again, our attitude plays a significant part in our response to these situations and to our life moving forward. Acceptance may not alter the outcome but it will facilitate peace. Acceptance fosters a gentle knowing that life is as life is. Some situations may not be easy and in some cases, they seem to offer up nothing that assists in our growth. We can change what we can change, particularly our attitude, but those things that cannot be change, we have to accept and move on. Situations, at times, can be tough, but most times life may be pushing us to change or adjust. When we come face to face with the lesson, learning it may not be near as difficult as we thought it would be. Our mind plays games with us and we fabricate all kinds of outcomes that rarely manifest (except in our minds). Changes are inevitable. On some level, we have to find the strength to move through these lessons. Our attitude is our greatest companion or our most feared enemy. Armed with determination and a good attitude towards our life lessons, we come out the other side with a greater understanding. We can move through the most unbearable of situations and come out stronger and more resilient on the other side. We are born fighters. Even our entry into this existence was a hard-fought battle. We can always learn our lessons. Never lose sight of the potentials that lie ahead. Stay strong throughout the lessons and know that on some level you will always emerge victorious, always!
