All of the outer planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) are in retrograde in September, 2026. Saturn and Neptune, both in the sign of Aries, stay in retrograde until December, 2026. Uranus, in the sign of Gemini, is retrograde until February 7, 2027 and Pluto, in Aquarius, remains in its retrograde cycle until October 14, 2026 when it goes direct once again.

Saturn and Neptune (in Aries) will be making an Opposition to those with their Sun in Libra. Saturn moves from 12° down to 7° Aries, while Neptune moves from 3° down to 1°. Those with their Sun within an orb of 5-7°of the degrees of Saturn and Neptune will feel their influence.

Oppositions usually indicate influences from other people in our lives. It is not considered a favorable aspect and when we speak of Neptune, there could be confusion or a feeling of dismay connected to these people or what they may be saying to you. Things may not be clear and concise, and you may not trust what they are implying. Things become much clearer once Neptune moves into its direct motion on December 11. The houses involved will define what areas of life are involved.

Saturn, on the other hand, still speaks about other individuals having an influence in our lives, but while in retrograde motion, Saturn is much more favorable. Although Saturn is about lessons, decisions, and in some cases hardships; during its retrograde cycle, it can actually be beneficial. You should pay heed to those that are trying to assist or help you. These individuals may be your superiors or those in positions of authority.

The Sun moves from the sign of Virgo, a mutable, earth sign, into the sign of Libra, a cardinal, air sign, on September 22, 2026.

Libra’s ruling planet is Venus, which is tightly tied to relationships, the want for love and affection and a general want for peace and tranquility. These are predominant character traits in the typical Libra personality.

To have a strong Libra influence (which is not only defined by the Sun sign), someone may, for example, also have Venus or Mercury in Libra along with the Moon or other planets in this sign.

It is so important that they find harmony that they will let their own needs slide, to keep the peace. Cooperation is key to many Libra individuals, which can lead to indecision and uncertainty to the point that they feel they need support or confirmation from others before making decisions.

Libra individuals are kind, loving individuals and do not like course individuals or intrusive conversations. They truly want to keep the peace at almost any cost, even if this means taking the backseat, when in fact they should be thinking of their own needs as well.

Transiting Saturn is often an indicator of lessons, challenges, and obstacles to overcome, along with delays and setbacks. Saturn can also suggest positive outcomes after some work, and an opportunity to create a solid foundation in life.

As Saturn sextiles our Ascendant, an opportunity is at hand to have an honest look at our life, and especially the way we represent ourselves to the world. We can make changes to things that we are not comfortable with and in doing so present a new image to the world around us. This can be quite personal in nature although not hidden as others will see and realize that we are making changes.

We may have gone through a challenging time realizing who we are and perhaps also from a deeper perspective about how we feel about our life. This period may have made us realize it is time for a change, to take a good hard look in the mirror and build towards a more structured life that offers security and stability that we may have been looking for or wanting to create.

Saturn will test our resilience and push us perhaps into places that might be uncomforting, and we may want to resist change and remain the same even though we know that this is no longer suitable.

Have we been restricting ourselves in some manner?

Now might be the perfect time to let go of what used to be because new opportunities are in place, which might not have been available before. Our comfort zone goes through changes and a part of us realize that we don’t need to keep things the same. Change can be difficult, but we can adapt in order to let some things go and to still hold on to what matters in the current situation.

Much will depend on the house Saturn is transiting through. Is it in the second house, dealing with finances and security, or the third house speaking directly about the way we communicate?

Is it the tenth house which has to do with our life’s status, our career, and our goals in life, or the eleventh house which has to do with our friends, our dreams and aspirations or the groups we might be associated with?
