LEO NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE 2026

Today, August 12, 2026, we will be experiencing a Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse.  It crosses Greenland, Iceland and Spain and those of us in Canada or the USA will experience a partial view. 

It is closest to the South Node, rather than the North Node, out by about 9° in the same sign (Leo).  Those with planets or angles in the fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio and Leo) within a 3° orb of influence, so 17 to 23 ° of these signs will be the most affected by this major celestial event. 

A Solar Eclipse closer to the South Node than the North Node often makes things quite challenging and pushes you to let go of something that is holding you back.  Without letting go and ending conditions, something new, which is what is being called for, may never materialize. 

Because this is in the sign of Leo at 20°, it has to do with leadership, individuality and/or any creative endeavors you might be involved in, especially anything that might put you in the limelight or draw attention to you.  It will be a time of new beginnings. For a new beginning to take hold, we must let go of something old and outdated. This creates an ending of sorts before we can begin anew.

The effects of this Solar Eclipse will have a lasting impact on those effected. The energies can last up to one year. Astrologers believe that the time the eclipse lasts in hours is equal to the years it will be affecting your life. Most certainly, however, the first six months are of most importance and have profound effects based on the planets being impacted and the houses involved in the chart.

It is time, as with all Leo individuals, to be your true self and if by chance you have been overly busy in the past, you might want to take some time off and enjoy life a little.  Take a holiday from your obligations, have some fun, and take a break.  If you don’t do this, you might feel very drained and worn out.  This eclipse can take a lot of energy out of you as you merge into what is unfolding in your life.

Most eclipses are not an easy adjustment and the Conjunction, which is the most powerful, would involve planets in Leo in the degrees indicated, creating a merging of energies depending on what the planets involved might be.  Conjunctions are very powerful, followed by the Opposition. With the opposition, this would involve planets in Aquarius and the Opposition suggests that others seem to be orchestrating what is unfolding--an end of conditions so something new can begin. 

The Squares from Taurus and Scorpio create tension which is challenging enough that it forces you to act to alleviate these conditions.  However, do not fear what is taking hold in life due to these powerful energies in place as they are the harbingers of endings creating what is needed for something new to be put in place in your life.

With the Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse letting go and forgiveness, if this is necessary, are prime action for now and serve as a viable solution to any challenges that might be in place during this period.

Gemini New Moon 2026

The next New Moon, which occurs on June 15, 2026, is in the sign of Gemini at 24°.  Allowing for up to a 3° orb of influence stemming from other current transiting planets, there are no planets within this degree, so this New Moon stands on its own without influence from other transiting bodies.

A New Moon in Gemini speaks of ideas and decisions which are subject to change and often without notice.  This does not mean that any plans that you make at this point are going to change or that moving ahead might not be such a good idea.  What it does mean is that the likelihood of change in your plans as you push forward with whatever intent you may have.

You may decide on one thing and then after careful consideration or some action, other agents of influence may enter the scenario.  There may be some “what ifs” and you may want to revise your plans so they fit more comfortably into your new current situation. 

Gemini is a mutable, air sign, which suggests that after deliberation adjustment may be made, and you can easily maneuver your way forward because you have the ability to shift and blend ideas to make them more suitable.

A Gemini Moon, and the Moon in general, always have to do with emotion and sensitivity, which suggests that this may be a moody period. Your feelings, which are channeled through the thinking process (because of Gemini’s influence), can be changeable because your moods fluctuate.  It is more of a thinking Moon than an emotional Moon.

Think things through before moving ahead with your ideas.  This helps the process and restarting or restructuring is less likely.  However, if you want to make changes to your plans, this is quite doable. Nothing is written in stone and mutable signs are flexible. 

Move forward with conviction, once you make up your mind which route to take. You will see what the results are in about six months’ time when we experience the Full Moon in the same sign, Gemini.

Much depends on the aspects in the Natal Chart to this New Moon’s position.  The aspects will determine what areas of life are involved and the way to move forward.  Taking advantage of these energies is always recommended.  Allow a 3° orb of influence with your natal chart as well and use only the major aspects especially the Conjunction and the Opposition to understand the energies.  Don’t forget to check the houses involved.

Do not stress over the outcome. Move forward and understand there is the likelihood of modifications along the way with the Gemini New Moon 2026. Your original plan might unfold in a different manner.  Moving ahead with confidence anyway!

IT'S SPRING

It's Spring

On March 20, 2026, at 10:46 a.m. EDT, we will experience the Spring vernal equinox (Ostara). The Spring equinox is when the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are equal lengths--the balance of light and dark.

Spring brings with it the promise of a fresh start and renewal. Our world and our lives begin to shed their wintery blanket and light shines forth.

Eventually, sprouts will begin to push their way through the soil, trees will bud, the grass will green, snowflakes transform to raindrops and there is the promise of flowers, colour, new life, etc. 

Even without the telltale signs of nature, we know in our heart renewal is coming. Beyond these internal feeling, in a more intangible way, we see the change in the shadows, we feel it in the air, we hear it in nature and smell it in the wind, if we take the time to focus on these things.

Along with this new life springing forth in nature, there is the ability to have fresh starts in our own lives. Follow the example of nature. This is a time of renewed vigor, an awakening if you will. This can draw us nearer to the promise of warmth and sunshine in our hearts and souls, not just in nature. We can mirror and utilize the energy brought on through the change of the season to stimulate and push us in our pursuits, new or old.

A new beginning is at hand with the promise of personal growth depending on the seeds we now sow.

This is the time to renew our motivation, to push ahead and find outlets that can help us renew our commitment to ourselves for further growth, expansion, and evolution.

Springs seems to afford us the energy to move ahead more willingly in our endeavors, particularly those that we had allowed (as we should) to sleep during the winter.

We have hopefully done our shadow work over the winter, looking into our own personal shadows to understand self more clearly.  Now we can shine our light brightly in these corners due to our understanding.  Replace the darkness with light and hope.

This renewed vigor can propel us into new-found areas that may not have been available throughout the winter. It is truly up to us what we plan to do with this energy and whether we utilize it or whether we allow it to slip on by.

Mirror the season and take advantage of the energies at hand. Move ahead into the new. Reach beyond any limits. Step out of the shadows. The only thing holding us back is us. We are our own motivation or our own stagnation. Growth and advancement are a choice.

What can be accomplished with these energies? Nature is offering us something fresh and new to focus on. Nature is providing us with hope and renewal. It's Spring! Plant seeds of promise and nurture them!
