On September 11, 2017, transiting Mercury will move into the sign of Virgo making a conjunction to the Sun for those born under the Sun sign of Virgo. Transiting Mercury moves rather quickly through the Zodiac and it will not be going into retrograde motion throughout its journey through Virgo this year. It moves into Libra on October 1, 2017 (moving approximately 1 ½ degrees each day). Mercury is a very neutral planet and actually needs stimulation to become activated. Once active, it operates mainly on a mental level through acts of communication either through the written word or in conversation. It helps us when making important decisions and is associated with signing agreements. Mercury also has to do with everyday activities, and in general, how the mind relates to stimuli as well as how we express ourselves, verbally. It is important to take into consideration other planets which either are transiting through the houses making connections to our Sun and/or natal Mercury and which angles they are making. If Neptune is involved in the equation, you may not be as clearly definable as you would be if it were not connected to Neptune. With this aspect, your mental alertness is on track and you express yourself quite well. You also will have the ability to listen with clarity about what other people are expressing. The communication channels are open and dialogue is concise and clear. All forms of communication are enhanced during the aspect. Mercury is also connected to learning and reading. You may want to take up a specific study at this time. You may have to watch for over-analysing during this aspect. Remind yourself that nothing is perfect in its nature and you may have to settle with something less than perfect or at least what you might consider perfect. Have you ever pondered the dynamics of your relationships with acquaintances as well as your relationships with close family members? How do these relationships fit into your life? The Full Corn Moon will be in the sign of Pisces on September 6, 2017. Normally the full moon in September is also called the Harvest Moon but because it occurs so early in the month, the October, 2017 full moon which will occur on October 5 is called the harvest moon (closer to the equinox). The light from the Harvest moon is quite beneficial to the farmers to help them see during their long nights harvesting. This month’s Pisces Full Moon is conjunction Neptune which rules Pisces. Image all of the spiritual and psychic influences that will have the opportunity to surface as a result of this Neptune and Pisces connection. Remember that the main focus of the Full Moon’s energies is to reap what we have had sown during the New Moon phase of the same sign. This now is a time of harvest and the concentrated energies we have been putting into our psychic development and spirituality now have the potential to be unleashed. You can rely on your gut instinct, particularly if you have trines or sextiles adjoining this conjunction of Neptune and the Moon. This Full Moon is at 14 degrees Pisces and Neptune although in its retrograde cycle is almost at 13 degrees. As a result this conjunction is considered very tight. If for example you have other planetary energies linked to the 14 degree mark that are more challenging such as a square or opposition there may be some confusion in these areas and things may not be as clear if you did not have these challenging aspects. In our last “Food for Thought” post on August 31, 2017, we talked about our part in the ongoing life conditions that surround us all. Today we thought we would take a look at our commitment to ourselves and following the groundwork that we have put in place as we proceed with creating a better living environment. At our fingertips, we have a wonderful accumulation of knowledge that we may have brought with us from previous lives, that we have gathered in this life and that others walking this journey with us have shared. Some of us have been blessed with psychic abilities and special talents. Some of us have learned special skills through life studies that we share during this unified journey. We all have gifts but these are not gifts unless they are shared, through acts of compassion, through acts of love and the need and want to share. Each one of us plays an integral part in the process. We all have talents; some may be latent and are yet to be revealed to us. Others talents are quite obvious. Do not squander these talents. It is necessary to be of service during this life and we all have and need a purpose. Could your most important purpose be to bring peace and happiness to our world? What do you feel your purpose is? We recognize that it is essential to live in the moment. We understand that we build our future by our vibration and focus, and we know that thoughts create reality over time. We understand that to stay positive and productive we cannot allow ego to be part of the equation. We understand that it is essential to quiet the chatter of the earthly mind through meditation. When we release ego and expectations, we can feel the shift within. When the shift takes place within, the energies have to boil over and flow out into our surroundings. Transiting Pluto is currently in the sign of Capricorn, and because of its slow movement, it will remain in trine to many of those with their Sun in Virgo for many years (depending on the degree of their Sun). Are you affected deeply by world conditions and the challenging situations taking place? Some find it difficult to stay centered as a result of current world events. Some question where humanity is heading. Hate crimes seem to be forefront. Racial discrimination, which we should expect to be getting better, in certain areas, appears to be on the increase.
