The New Moon is a time to plant seeds to be harvested when the Full Moon is in the same Astrological sign. The New Moon on June 24, 2017 is suggestive of a time to make things happen especially on a mental level because this New Moon at 2 degree Cancer has ties with Mercury. The energies fortified by Mercury (which by the way will not go into retrograde until August 9, 2017), can heighten the mental capacity, making us feel more clever in conversation and in areas related to learning. Mercury loves schooling, and learning can be achieved in many different manners. This can be the time to take on any learning adventure and build these lessons into something worthwhile in times to come. An Astrological Sun sign, by definition, is descriptive of our most inner self. Some of the more gentle or subdued Sun signs can be highly influenced by other stronger factors in the chart. This could include several planets often linked by a Stellium in one house other than the house ruled by the Sun sign. We will be celebrating the summer solstice on June 21, 2017 in the Northern hemisphere. This powerful solar energy serves to recharge our spirits, minds and bodies. Neptune is currently in the sign of Pisces. In order to have a trine to your natal Moon, you would have to have your Moon in one of the other water signs, (Cancer or Scorpio). Trines are considered a major aspect and most Astrologers give the trine a ten degree orb of influence. That being said, transiting Neptune has been and will be between 9 to 14 degrees Pisces this year (2017), so you can see the range encompasses most of Cancer and Scorpio. Transiting Uranus’ (current location) impact on Natal Mercury (Mercury location when you were born) could be described as 1. sudden flashes of intuitive insight; 2. inspiration at its best; and 3. erratic mental conceptions based on belief structures that are impulsive and irrational at its worst. Mercury on its own, as mentioned in previous posts, does very little. It needs the energies of other influences in order to be stimulated. The square between Uranus and Mercury brings into focus the need for rational thinking and mental action. It is best to familiarize yourself with the mind’s perception of what is taking place in your life. Although the mind will be stimulated with new and unusual concepts, it is easy to become confused because of the erratic nature and speed at which these ideas come into focus when Uranus is involved. It is best to view these ideas from all angles and not to jump into situations or be speculative before you truly understand what is being presented to you. Uranus currently is in Aries which brings forth much impulsiveness and if your Mercury is square to Mercury, this would suggest that you either have your Mercury in Cancer or Capricorn (in your birth chart). Transiting Pluto, which moves roughly one degree a year, is moving through the sign of Capricorn. In the year 2017 Pluto can be found between 16 to 19 degrees of Capricorn. If you allow yourself approximately five degrees when Pluto is approaching (11 to 14 degrees Capricorn) and two degree separating, so up to and including 21 to 22 degrees Capricorn and if your Natal Moon is in the sensitive sign of Cancer, you will be experiencing an opposition between transiting Pluto and your natal Moon. The Moon can identify your reigning need in life. It is indicative of what makes up your emotional makeup and is an indicator of your emotional response to life’s situations. In Cancer there is a genuine need to provide emotional support particularly to family members and close friends. There are mothering qualities linked to your emotional being and a protective wall that you offer when those near and dear to you need your emotional support. Many of us accept that our life’s course was laid out long before our birth. We come with a plan, a course of action that will eventually take us forward to accomplish what we specifically needed to expand on. Does this mean that we are at the mercy of this preplanned course? Does this mean that we no longer have a hand in our direction? If we do not have a choice, are we to sit back as an observer without any intent on our part to push in any conscious or desired direction? These are valid questions. Have we taken the time to ponder or investigate the answers to these questions from a spiritual point of view as opposed to our earthly perspective, if this is at all possible? Let’s accept, for the sake of argument, that our course was preplanned. Let’s accept that the ingredients and circumstances of this life are put in place to provide us with the ultimate opportunities to learn specific objectives for our greater good. Although the course may be preplanned, this does not suggest that we do not have a hand in these experiences. It is a physically earthbound concept that implies that we do not have a hand in the process and it is difficult for us to conceive the facts that both can play out at the same time. It has been suggested that the past, the present and the future are all here at the same time. If this in fact is true, why could we not mold life through the actions we take now. Is it possible for a human mind to be able to comprehend that a plan set in motion before birth is also being created in this present moment? Is this a contradiction or is it actually possible? The original plan or lesson for this lifetime may well be set in motion by our actions taken today and we may well be part of the process by making decisions to move in specific directions now. Living in the moment could initiate the original plan. Go beyond earthly thinking and think in terms of spiritual understanding. Nothing is as it seems and our apparent actions taken today through human thought and focus actually activate what has already been put in place. We do have a hand in our earthly progress. We mold our reality by our thoughts, our expectations and our belief structures. We align with our original intent through an ongoing process activated by these thoughts, expectations and beliefs. Mercury, the planet of the mind, needs to be stimulated through other planetary energies or important angles in the chart to become active. On its own, Mercury is considered neutral. Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo. The second planet we are looking at today is Uranus. Uranus is considered a planet of action and often brings forth change, sometimes disruptive change, but none the less change. This change is usually required. It opens the door for something new and exciting to enter into the picture. Uranus is impulsive, erratic and can also be unconventional in its behaviour. It often brings a fresh start to an otherwise stale condition. When active through conjunction, Uranus brings emphasis to what it touches and creates activities often put into motion on the day it becomes direct. It is used as a timing factor and although its energies can be felt for as much as 5 degrees while approaching, it intensifies immensely as it draws ever nearer to becoming direct. When Uranus is in line with Mercury, the mind is stimulated and new concepts, often original in nature and sometimes different from anything experienced previous to this time, have the opportunity to come to life. Communicating these ideas will play a significant role in whether or not they actually get off the ground. Inaction is not suggested and the need to be open and share this information is advisable.
