CANCER FULL MOON 2026

On January 3, 2026, at 5:04 a.m. EST, we will be experiencing a Full Moon in the sign of Cancer at 13°.  This will be a supermoon and is known as the “Wolf Moon”.

This Cancer Full Moon (as with all full moons) forms an Opposition to the Sun, and in this case, it also forms an Opposition aspect to Venus at 12° and Mars at 14° in Capricorn. 

For this Full Moon to have an effect on you (a Full Moon is a culmination of what began when the New Moon was in the same sign {Cancer} some six months ago), you will have to have other planets or angles (ASC, DC, MC, or IC) making a Conjunction or Opposition to the full moon’s placement within a three-degree orb.

CANCER FULL MOON 2026

 As mentioned, the Full Moon is a culmination cycle indicating the end of cycle which began when the New Moon was in Cancer (in this case).  When in the sign of Cancer, the family might be involved, the whole idea of nurturing is heightened and this could be towards self or another in need. Mothering and supporting are important. You want to get to the bottom of what is taking place regardless of whether it is considered good or bad.  You want to find the truth of the matter. 

The work you have put in since the Cancer New Moon is reflective of the results you will reap.  Now is the time to harvest your efforts. Because this is a Cancer Full Moon, your intuitive side may be enhanced, and you just seem to know or even better “feel” what the situation calls for.  The house position in your astrological chart defines the area of life involved, but family and the home likely are a part of this scenario.

Because Venus, the planet of love and affection, and Mars, the planet of drive and ambition, are involved through transit, this could be speaking of an important relationship.  Don’t forget the Sun, which is always in Opposition to the Moon during the Full Moon cycle, is now Conjunct the placement of Venus and Mars.  This makes it quite personal and may also affect your path in life.  You feel that you know how to move forward, although if there are challenges within the framework of the natal chart at the same time, there can be hurdles.  You seek out control of the situation by making decisions for those involved with a sense of confidence because of the concern and genuine care and love you have for these involved.

There will be a drive to meet the needs of those involved and although family is likely involved, you will also have to take into consideration your own personal needs.  You matter as well, and you can’t do things just for others. You must think about your needs. 

This is a powerful time where other people are involved due to the Sun/Moon Opposition.  They may influence your decision making by trying to force their opinions on you.  You must make the final decisions unless you agree wholeheartedly with what they are saying.

Cancer Full Moon 2026 is an emotional time, likely involving family and loved ones. You feel driven to nurture and help. Remember your own personal needs too.

TRANSITS FOR SUN IN CANCER 2025

Currently, and in the near future, there are several of the outer planets moving into new signs.  Pluto is already in the sign of Aquarius.  Neptune will be moving into the sign Aries, as is Saturn.  Uranus will move into the sign of Gemini in July and then return into Taurus in November of 2025.  Uranus stays in Taurus from November 2025 until the end of April 2026.  As a result, those individuals with their Natal Sun in the early degrees of Cancer will have all these outer planets making aspects to their Sun.

Transits for Sun in Cancer 2025

We will touch on the transits of Neptune moving into Aries as well as Saturn moving into the same sign forming a tight Conjunction, at times, into March, 2026. 

Neptune, a mystical planet, and Saturn, a practical and down-to-earth energy planet, will have a profound influence on those with the Sun in the early degrees of Cancer.  The energies of these two planets are extreme opposites and may create some confusion for those individuals they influence. The house placements will determine the areas of life affected by these two powerful planetary links.

Some Cancerians may have a hard time defining themselves under these influences.  The Cancerian’s goals and their path ahead may venture into directions that may be uncomfortable. Some Sun in Cancer individuals may question if the paths are tangible and question where they may lead. There can be a dilemma between what is real and what is wishful thinking or imaginary. 

Be sure to confirm what you are envisioning is real and workable.  This may have to do with goals, in some cases your career goals, and it may also have to do with relationships.  The houses involved will clarify the area of life.

The aspect between Saturn/Neptune and the Sun in Cancer is a square (90° aspect) which is known to produce challenging situations.  There are often hurtles to overcome, and it may feel as though there are obstacles in the way of progress, time delays, and the path ahead can be quite tedious with struggles and extra work.  The Square aspect, however, has a need for clarity, to remove the obstacles hindering advancement so that eventually, insight and knowledge are obtained.  It will take hard work, diligent effort and sustained organized input on your part to resolve any issues that might crop up during this connection but in the long term, you will benefit.

SUN IN CANCER

On June 21, 2025, the Sun moves from the mutable air sign of Gemini, into the cardinal water sign of Cancer.  There is a vast difference between the sign Gemini and the sign Cancer.  Those born on the cusp of Cancer and Gemini will also have some tendencies related to the sign Gemini.  Some Astrologers give an orb of 16° for the Sun. For example, anyone born with a 3° Sun in Cancer will also have the influence of Gemini. There would be an 11° influence of Cancer and a 5° influence of Gemini in this example. 

A further example, if someone was born with their Sun in the 27° Cancer, they would also have a 5° influence from Leo.  This Astrologer also gives a small orb of influence for the rising sign, but only about 1 to 1 ½° of an orb of influence.

Sun in Cancer

Looking at Cancer without cusping influences, those individual with their Sun in the Sign of Cancer are highly emotional, although they tend to try to keep their emotional nature under their protective shell. They may try to avoid stressing emotional interaction as it can be detrimental to their well-being. 

Cancerians are proud of their heritage, have a strong need to take care of others and family comes first. 

Cancer individuals instinctively feel vibrational energy around them and pick up on other people’s emotions and can be influenced by these energies.  This suggests a degree of intuitiveness and a clairvoyance ability for those that decide to allow these abilities.  Sensitivity and intuition run hand in hand and can open the door to the psychic realm.

In some cases, a Sun in Cancer individual may allow others to “walk on them” to a degree at times, but they will not let someone do this to those they love or care for. Cancer is highly attuned to the needs of their family and this can extend to the family of friends. 

In general, Cancerians are kindhearted, welcoming, sensitive and genuinely caring individuals.  They need to surround themselves with similar type people to feel safe and comfortable in their surroundings.  The home environment must have a tranquil atmosphere as they need a place to recharge their emotional batteries. 

Many Cancer individuals enjoy tradition, and some are not comfortable with change.  They like surroundings that they are accustomed to, most enjoy nature, but also enjoy comfort.  This is not to say that their surroundings must be plush or expensive, but just that they need to be comfortable, whatever that may mean to the Sun in Cancer individual.

Many Cancerians have great memories, and some cling to the past.  Letting go of challenging situations that cause physical or emotional hurt in some way may be difficult for a typical Cancerian.  They have trouble forgetting injustice or hurtful dialogue.  They feel everything deeply, and they are very receptive. As a result, they need people that are gentle, caring, sensitive but strong around them.  This does not suggest that Cancer individuals are weak as they defend the underdog and family with vigor.
