Juno and its significance in the birth chart offers understanding into your relationships especially concerning fairness, honesty and equality. Juno offers information as to what may assist you along the way with these relationships. When touched by transit or progressed planets, Juno will enlighten you as to what the road ahead might entail, how to see the warning signs, and offers guidance on how to move forward with the energies at hand.
Juno and Its Significance in the Birth Chart

Juno is an asteroid discovered in 1804 and is located between Mars and Jupiter.

Juno’s main attributes in Astrology focus on the need for fairness, balance and equality, especially within important relationships such as a marriage partnership.

Juno’s energies want things to run smoothly, be just and honest.  Its energies do not do well when inequalities are part of the picture or infidelity comes into play.  Juno’s focus is commitment and has high regard for trust and justice. It insists on fair play, especially within partnerships.

The house where Juno is located in the natal chart, along with its aspects, describe in what manner Juno’s energies seek these attributes and in what area of your life it is focused.

Some say that Juno has some elements similar to Venus, specifically those of love and affection.  It also carries with it similarities to Libra because of its link to relationships and its need for balance and fairness.

It has been said that Juno sees below the surface of things and alerts us when things are moving in the wrong direction (due to its need for being treated with respect and equality).  Like Libra, Juno seeks to balance the scales. As with Libra, it is not balanced but has to do with the need to balance and find justice.

As mentioned, Juno’s sign and house position along with the aspects it receives from other planets within the natal chart speaks clearly of its impact within romantic relationships and committed partnerships such as marriage.

Juno and its significance in the birth chart relates to your relationships especially concerning fairness, honesty and equality. Juno offers information with what may assist you with these relationships.  When touched by transit or progressed planets, Juno will enlighten you as to what the road ahead might entail, how to see the warning signs, and offers guidance on how to move forward with the energies at hand.

Saturn, by definition, often speaks of challenging conditions, tasks at hand, lessons to learn, discipline, creating organization and building a strong foundation.

As Saturn transits through the houses, especially when it connects with the planets or the cusp of each house, it is often felt as an integrating energy that asks us to pay attention and often requires additional work.  Saturn’s influence is not something that should be ignored and is felt especially when it conjuncts a planet or angle in our birth chart.

Saturn, at its most powerful, often interacts when it is 2° past being direct because of its delayed effects.  However, you will likely feel Saturn’s approach long before it reaches this critical degree of influence.  Therefore, we can prepare for its influence, but it is highly suggested that you not anticipate its action as negativity can result.

Saturn is the teacher of the Zodiac, and this is what it will do.  Its action sparks our attention and when transiting Saturn is in square to itself in the birth chart (which is what we are focused on in this article) our attentiveness will be enhanced.

Saturn asks us to work hard towards our objectives and not to miss any steps along the way.  It will teach us patience and diligence. If we do the work that is required, its energies can help build solid foundations that stand the test of time.  The structures that can be built can withstand almost any interaction because they are built from structure and lessons that are likely difficult and do not need repeating.

Much will depend on the houses involved in the equation.  The house where Saturn transits often produce tension or lessons and the house where Saturn natally resides helps in assisting with the dilemma.  Squares indicate struggle, but the difficulty is irritating enough that it forces us into action to formulate a plan to alleviate the irritation. Natal Saturn and its natal positioning in the birth chart will provide you with more information and information on potential difficulty or greater ease for transition due to its aspects.

When Saturn in transit forms a square with natal Saturn, it initiates a significant phase of teaching and learning. While Saturn symbolizes hardship, it also fosters resilience & inner strength. Individuals may not realize the depths of their fortitude until Saturn compels them to face such lessons. Indeed, Saturn is the ultimate teacher.
Saturn Square Natal Saturn

When transiting Saturn squares natal Saturn, there will be a teaching/learning phase.  You will work your way through what Saturn’s energies are pushing at you and become more equipped to handle situations in the future.  Difficulties are represented by Saturn, but Saturn also builds resilience and integrates strength.  Many may not even realize they have this strength until Saturn forces the lesson on them.  Saturn truly is the teacher.

The planet Mercury has to do with our thinking process.  It also has to do with evaluation, speculation, integration and information.

The placement of Mercury in the Natal Astrology chart, by sign and house position along with natal aspects determines how your mind operates and how it deals with information, both favourable and challenging.  Regardless of how your Mercury is aspected in your natal chart, you have options as to how you wish to deal with life’s adversities and also how you wish to move forward when opportunity strikes.

The transits of Mercury & its retrograde motion are short lived as it moves quickly though the Zodiac. Mercury is neutral & needs stimulation. Use Mercury’s retrograde periods to plan & then act when Mercury goes direct.
The Transits of Mercury & Its Retrograde Motion

As Mercury moves through the Zodiac, it forms aspects to all of your planets over a relatively short period of time, quite opposite from the movement of the slow outer planets.  Mercury is known as a neutral planet, suggesting that it needs stimulation from outside sources before it becomes activated.  A transit to your Natal Mercury is quite different in energy from an aspect by Transiting Mercury to your natal positions.

Transiting Mercury changes signs at least once every month unless it goes into retrograde.  Retrograde motion is when a planet appears to move backwards in the Zodiac.  Outer planets are in retrograde about half of the time through the year.  Mercury remains in retrograde for about three weeks at a time.  It can change signs while in retrograde motion, therefore moving over the same degree in your chart three times until it finally moves direct again and continues its forward motion.

Many individuals fear Mercury while in its retrograde cycle but this is a bit of a fallacy.  What Mercury suggests while in retrograde is that you review your current plans before actually moving forward with them.  Mercury retrograde is a time for studying and integrating and then moving ahead when Mercury moves out of retrograde and back into direct motion.  We are not saying stop your plans to do or buy something. We suggest caution, however, if you are signing documents as the outcome may not go as planned.  Some challenges may interrupt the flow of things.

It is also important to know that those with Mercury retrograde in their birth charts may have more issues when Mercury is in retrograde by transit.  It should also be noted that Mercury must affect a planetary position or angle in your natal chart by no more than 3-4° of orb for it to have any type of effect in your chart.

For example, if Mercury crosses your Sun in Gemini at 3° and your Mercury is retrograde in your birth chart, it will have an impact on your chart especially if Mercury conjuncts or is in opposition to this placement (the Sun in Gemini in our example).  Squares and Trines along with Sextiles have a lessor effect, and the energies will not be as bad as you might think they may be.

Those individuals that do not have Mercury retrograde in their natal charts may experience nothing more than a minor setback, if at all, during Mercury’s retrograde cycle.

As a side note, all planets except for Saturn while moving through their retrograde cycle do not operate at full capacity.  Saturn, however, seems to operate with far less restrictions while in retrograde than it would in direct motion.

The transits of Mercury & its retrograde motion are short lived as it moves quickly though the Zodiac. Mercury is neutral and needs stimulation. Use Mercury’s retrograde periods to plan and then act when Mercury goes direct. There is nothing to fear with Mercury retrograde.
