The Grand Trine is a relatively common configuration. A grand trine configuration can be created in any of the elements - Water, Fire, Air and Earth. This configuration consists of three planets or significant points (Midheaven, Ascendant) all linked together in trine to one another, separated each by 120 degrees. You can allow an orb of 8 degrees when determining if a trine is part of the larger grand trine configuration. For example you may have the Sun at 20 degrees Cancer, the Moon at 16 degrees Scorpio and the Ascendant at 23 degrees Pisces. This would be considered a Grand Water Trine.  The strength of the energies is increased the closer these trines are to being direct. For example if all these planets and points are within 1-3 degrees in separation, the trine becomes a strong influence in the life of the individual concerned. The weakening of a Grand Trine happens when one of the planets or points is in a different element than the other two. For example the Sun in Cancer, the Moon in Scorpio and the rising sign in Aries. These configurations would make a triangle in the natal or birth chart.  The positive influences of the Grand Trine include free energy flow which in turn assists us in gaining benefits and also inherent good luck seems to follow individuals with grand trines, particularly when the Grand Trine is activated through transit or progression. These individuals seem to have more opportunities than most others and they attract good fortune and opportunities into their lives easily in areas related to the element the Grand Trine is in. For example a person with a tight Grand Earth Trine, especially if it connected to the Midheaven or Ascendant and Venus or Jupiter, will have more opportunities to move ahead in their life endeavours related to finances, business and occupation.  Grand Trines, however, also have a negative connotation to them (as with everything there are two sides) because the energies flow so well, the individual can lose their motivation and become lazy. These individuals could refuse to take on challenges. Some become trapped in self-sufficiency. Those individuals that are not using these energies become stuck and often feel as though they are not going anywhere in life. Some become too self-sufficient. Someone with a Grand Water Trine can have such a strong emotional foundation that even when confronted with emotional trauma, they may not reach out to others for assistance and can become engulfed with their own emotions and have great difficulty moving beyond any trauma. Some become closed in the element the Grand Trine is located and become, as Astrologer Noel Tyl calls them, a “Closed circuits of self-sufficiency.”  People with Grand Trines are very motivated in the element the Trine is in, but when confronted with life’s difficulties they often are not comfortable with these issues and have difficulties with them. Grand Trines work very well, most of the time but when a challenging condition appears, these individuals are not used to this energy, (unless they have many challenging aspects within their birth chart) and are not sure how to handle stress and hard lessons in an appropriate manner.  When deciphering the Grand Trine, you will have to take into consideration which element the Grand Trine is in and also the planets and houses affiliated with this energy. Before we go into deciphering this transit of Pluto to Mars, please check if you have a natal aspect between these two planets, check if you have other transits aspecting your natal Mars and check which house is involved. The planets that are natally joined with Mars will all play a part in the unfolding potential behind these two energies. Â The dynamics of these two planetary energies can be quite forceful and also very volatile. As a result, it is important to check the overall picture in your chart. If there are aspects in the chart indicating some other forces playing a role in this conjunction and they are favourable then the energies released may not be as tense. Â Pluto and Mars together, when well aspected by other indicators, can be a time of gathering or reaching your goals and recognizing your abilities and using them for a push forward in life. It is within our capacity to create our perfect world. First we must start within and then when we are familiar with our abilities to create, then we can use this tool in our daily living. Recognizing who we are is certainly paramount to awakening. We have to understand our true identity, which is not of an earthly nature. The New Moon’s energies help to initiate plans. The energies of the new moon allow you to plant the seeds of growth. Transiting Saturn moves from 27 degrees in Sagittarius retrograding (back) to 21 degrees this August (2017). Then turns direct once again and will enter Capricorn on December 22, 2017. During this time period, Saturn will trine anyone with their Sun in Aries from about 15 degrees to the final degree of that sign. Saturn will then be in a square to anyone with the early degrees of their Sun in Aries towards the end of this year (2017). We will discuss the trine between the Sun and Saturn in this post. The trine between Saturn and the Sun offers opportunities for advancement in life. Life seems to flow a little more smooth than usual, and there will be a great ability to get things done, especially those things that are in need of completion. This could be a time of accomplishment and the harder those with this aspect work during this time the greater the chance for recognition from authority figures. Some may even be promoted because the extra work is noticed and appreciated. Hard work is the hallmark of Saturn and working towards an end is what is required. Saturn does demand attention and often brings on more responsibilities and duties but the rewards can be quite substantial. As we age more and more loved ones pass on before us. This can be an emotional reality as we get older and some of us may feel as though many of great value have been stolen from us. These souls were a part of our lives and now the time we shared during this earthly experience is no longer. We have to find ways to move forward without their physical bodies being a part of it. In most cases for those of us, particularly in the western world, do not find this an easy task. The more we fight the experience, the more pain we experience. Ask anyone who has lost a loved one and they will agree that it takes time to recover from their loss and time does not heal wounds; our adjustment to the new way of living is what helps us to move beyond the separation. It is a great challenge to find new ways to continue without their physical energies being with us. We need to appreciate those that have moved on before us yet fill the gap in this material life. No one can or will ever replace those that have passed on before us. It is said that those that have passed are never far away. It is even said that when we think of them we draw them to us. Death is not an ending but a rebirth where understanding and an awakening not known on earth is regained. Their mission on earth has been completed and now they are called back to where we have come, much wiser and experienced than they were when we they first arrived, at least we suspect that this is the experience. Remind yourself that you are a spiritual being living an earthly existence. It is only temporary. You have come to experience earthly lessons and to find understanding that is not as easily learned through the spiritual existence. Our mission is to complete our earthly tasks, whatever they may be. Our final day will come just as it is meant to. For those that do not have spiritual beliefs or religious beliefs, personal death or the passing of a loved one can be a frightening experience. Some believe that nothing happens beyond our earthly experience and when we pass, we simply no longer exist….nothing more, nothing less. They say that everything comes to an end; yet science says that energy is perpetual. Many of us can know that there is existence on some level beyond passing from this earth as our life’s experiences have taught us this without question. With this knowledge, we recognize that passing on cannot be an end but a new beginning. We cannot fight the process for it is inevitable. Experience and allow the sadness and grief when you have lost a loved one but do not take up residence in these emotions. Our loved ones would never want us to lose our focus on what we are here to fulfill. If we allow, we can get caught up in what has taken place and spend many years living in sadness and grief. This is Part II of our look at Sun in Aries 2017. You cannot find peace in your surroundings or from any interaction you may have with others. The only way to find peace is to create peace and the only way to feel peace is to focus on your attitude towards peace. You create peace by being peace, by living within the guidelines of what you define peace to be and then allowing those energies to seep into your outer world. What are your expectations? Do you expect to experience peace? How do you find peace when your expectations are not in touch with what peace represents for you? You know that you mold your reality over time by your belief structure. If this is true, how can you possibly find peace when your expectations and focus are elsewhere? You argue that your expectations are based on what you have experienced in life. How can you expect change if you base your expectations on what life has brought before this time? You can switch this focus at any time, but you have to recognize that your thought patterns are your own, that they come from you and that you are the one with the control of where they are. It will take a little practice but realistically you can do it this moment and, if you believe, the change can happen right now, in this moment. The Sun will move into the sign of Aries on March 21 in 2017. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and also rules the first house. Aries is ruled by the planet Mars and Mars is considered a war like planet in that it is not afraid to move forward with its objectives and is fearless once in action. Mars is often the driving force behind personal achievement and ambition, along with Saturn although Saturn is more affiliated with ambitions linked to the profession. If by chance they fail in their goals, it will be because they did not plan well enough or moved forward without the proper resources. They like a challenge and are willing to set things in motion even when others tell them that they are not ready. Very little actually stands in their way except themselves. Arieans often have a “me first” attitude and even when they are working towards the good of someone else, they seek control of the situation. They are generally kind and compassionate people with the good of others at heart, but sometimes can be a little too blunt and aggressive in their pursuit.
