We have been asked to explain the timing of the outer transits to Natal placements in the horoscope. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto move through the heavens very slowly. Pluto and Neptune often only move 1 to 3 degrees per year. The normal influence of transits of the outer planets to Natal placements (Ascendant and Midheaven) and Planets is approximately 3 to 5 degrees approaching and then usually 2 degrees separating. The influence of these transiting planets is often subtle as they approach and then intensify as they move closer to being direct. When they are within 1 degree of orb in aspect to the Natal placements, their influence intensifies and becomes quite apparent. When they are within tight orb, (1 degree or less) look to transiting Mars, the progressed Moon and even the progressed Sun to stir up activity in the areas of life (houses) that are being activated. These influences will make an aspect to the Natal planet being affected by the transiting outer planet and activate or cause something to occur. This will tighten the timing factor significantly and are used in conjunction with a Solar chart (a look at the upcoming year) to ascertain a common denominator for potentially events. Transiting Uranus, when exact to its Natal position, often creates some action in the area of life that is being affected even by its self with no other influences. You must also take into consideration what other Natal planets are connected to the Natal planet being transited by these outer planets. If there are other factors in the Natal chart (for example transiting Pluto is conjuncting your natal Venus and Venus natally is aspected by Mars and Saturn), the transit of Pluto will also affect these planets. The influence of Pluto will not be over until it is out of orb with Mars and Saturn as well in this example. Using this information will offer much assistance in locating a time when action or internal adjustment might take place. If you use this method, it helps to narrow down the time frame for that specific event even though the affects of the outer planet has an influence during the whole period of time. As we slowly unravel our connection to our fellow man/woman, we also need to take into consideration our oneness with the earth. The beauty of a snowflake and natural curvatures found in a wave as it gently moves across a lake are all splendors of nature and they share their serenity with anyone who is open to their experience. We are the simple observers. We merely need to allow these sensations to envelop us. Find a place of solitude during times of strife. The Sun moves into the sign of Cancer this weekend. Jupiter is the planet of expansive enthusiasm and optimistic points of view. It encompasses all that radiates on the higher octaves of life and is associated with good luck, opportunities for growth and quite often growth on a spiritual level. It brings with it optimistic realizations and a belief in potential future opportunities that can be reflected in philosophical learnings and encompasses religious doctrines and higher philosophies. When all else fails, you look within to find the strength to make it through that final barrier. You were born for this. Although the barriers seem too high, you always have what it takes. The first Saturn return takes place at approximately 27-30 years of age. The second Saturn return occurs at approximately 56-60 and the third at 84-90. The forth return which is rarely experiences takes place between the ages of 114-118. The Natal or birth chart is a snapshot of the heavens at the moment of birth, from that moment on the planets keep on their rotational path. Each planet eventually returns to the placement it was at on your birth, but the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) take a long time to complete their cycles. Saturn takes between 28-29 years to complete its cycle, Uranus takes 84 years. The other two most outer planets take much longer and we do not live long enough to experience their return. Saturn (which will be discussed at a later date in greater detail) has a profound impact in our lives. It produces stress and presents us with obstacles whenever it becomes activated in our charts. It is as though we have come to a stumbling block or crossroad in our development and we are forces to take a good look at our lives in order to make some needed changes. These times are very trying and can last a significant period of time, especially if there are other planetary forces at work during the same period. We have touched a little on houses in previous posts and will go deeper into these areas of life later in other posts, but depending where Saturn is located in your birth chart and what aspects it is making to other planets, these particular areas of life (houses) will become activated. The intensity and duration of the lesson depends largely on the other planets that are stimulating the area and how long they transit (transit is the motion of the planet) and what aspects (aspects are angles between planets) they make to each other.
