2024 LEO NEW MOON

On August 4, 2024, we will be experiencing the energies of a New Moon in the sign of Leo at 12°.  This is a time to plant seeds in your garden of life related to the energies of Leo.

2024 Leo New Moon

The Moon being placed in Leo brings out warmth and generosity and will enhance one’s image.  There is always a degree of resilience and know-how when it comes the energies of Leo.  You may feel as though you want to be in control of situations, especially a new one as this is what might be on the horizon at this time.  As mentioned, the New Moon cycle is often the beginning stages, when we can puts into action things that we have been planning or laying the foundation for what is yet to come.  This is the time to start action/planning and move ahead with exuberance and enthusiasm.

The 2024 Leo New Moon will also be making a sextile to Jupiter which will be at 14° in the sign of Gemini.  The Moon and Jupiter are forming a positive aspect (sextile) which can bring forth opportunities and a general feeling that things will be alright.

Check to see which house this Lunar position is activating in your natal chart and if it touches another planet in the birth chart.  The house position will give you indications of what areas of life might be involved.  Transiting Jupiter’s position by house and sign will give you more info due to its sextile to the moon. 

If this New Moon affects your chart, you may push forward with great optimism and bravery, daring to move forward with your objectives.  You may feel bold in your actions and would love it if others would also notice and be proud of you for what you are planning on doing.  The more people behind you, the better.  You will also feel quite generous at this time, and those that want to join in may find that down the road if all works out well, they too will be happy about the outcome. Usually, the culmination point of a new moon is when the Full Moon is in the same sign, some six months from now (February 12, 2025). 

Watch for being overly optimistic about reaching your goals but pursue them anyway.  With Jupiter being part of the process moving forward, you can expect bigger and, in many cases, more rewarding outcomes as you move ahead.  If you like what you see along the way, watch for too much self-acknowledgement as the ego in this alignment can be quite significant. You don’t want others to get the wrong impression.  You may feel the need to blow your own horn prior to the actual achievement, and the results may appear to be more successful to you than what they actually are.  Exaggeration is often part of the picture, but optimism and continued efforts are what makes things happen.

This New Moon’s position at 12° Leo should be within 3° in conjunction with or in opposition to a planet in your natal chart for it to have a more pronounced effect in your life.  The natal potential must always be present.

Whatever goals you are setting around the 2024 Leo New Moon beware of being over optimistic but pursue your goals anyway (with ego in check) because opportunity is at hand.

CURRENT INNER PLANET TRANSITS

Inner Planet Transits

We normally do not write too much about the transits of the inner planets due to their short-lived effects, but the current inner planet transits are of interest to those with their Sun in the early degrees of Gemini or in the late degrees of Taurus.

On May 18, the Sun and Jupiter align as do Venus and Uranus.  This sounds very positive.  The Sun and Jupiter together suggest growth and added potential especially related to goals and aspirations.  In many ways this alignment, which by the way is a conjunction, is the most powerful of the aspects, and places great emphasis on our inner journey and what we have learned thus far and in particular as of late.  Although short lived, it should prove to be an expansive, energetic time for those experiencing these configurations in their chart.  This formation is in place for the duration of May 15 to the 25 of 2024.

On May 20, the Sun moves into the sign of Gemini, and we posted on this yesterday www.holmastrology.com/post/sun-in-gemini-4 and we will follow with Gemini’s 2024 transits in the next few Astrology posts.  It will be in effect along with the Conjunction of the Sun/Jupiter alignment just discussed.  Take into close consideration where this positioning takes place in your chart if you have a planet or angle near these degrees.  The house or angle will define the areas of life involved.

We will also be having a Full Moon on May 23.  Full Moon energies’ are an indication of the end of the work carried forward prior to this energy.  It is known as the culmination point and the harvest of the efforts put into whatever was started some six months ago when the New Moon was in the same sign.  As usual, we will also be writing a post on the emphasis of the Full Moon’s position in an upcoming post next week.

During this same period, Venus and Jupiter will linked up creating a conjunction at 29° of Taurus.  Together, Venus and Jupiter often indicate a time of fortunate conditions and favorable outcomes.  Love and affection may be part of the picture and a time of sharing life with others is also indicated.  Check to see this position in your natal chart if you have planets coming into play in the 29° of Taurus or in close proximity thereto. 

One thing that we didn’t mention earlier with the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter on May 18, this often suggests that the unexpected can unfold moving you in a direction that is proper for your evolution and life’s path.  It can be under unusual circumstances and may come out of nowhere.  Expect the unexpected.

Finally, Jupiter also enters Gemini on May 26.  This is quite the favorable positioning as well.  It speaks of growth, higher education on some level, if not through the schooling of life, then through actual continued education.  This is a time of great learning and expansion.  If aligned with the Sun or natal Jupiter or even the Ascendant, it can speak of vital growth and healthier conditions.  Much of course will be determined by the natal potential found in the birth chart.  The Natal chart must always be taken into consideration as it is an outline of our life’s path and our most inner evolution along with many other important factors.  A natal chart is the first step in understanding our stay here on earth.

JUPITER SEXTILE NATAL ASCENDANT

Transiting Jupiter moves approximately 1° every five days, so its impact, giving a 5° approaching orb and a 2° separating orb, will be approximately one month.  If it goes retrograde, this period can last longer.  Jupiter goes retrograde for approximately four months moving about 10°.  While in retrograde, quite often we will gain increased recognition and some luck in obtaining benefits.  While direct, its energies are more rewarding and it provides growth, expansion and general good luck.

Jupiter Sextile Natal Ascendant

Jupiter sextile Natal Ascendant promotes a general feeling of good luck.  It feels like a lucky time and often opportunities flow in your direction.  This is often quite personal but may also involve those close to you, especially important relationships.  Opportunities are at hand but in many cases, we just feel lucky and do not necessarily do too much to help things happen.  We feel that if we just go with the flow good things are likely to happen, and you might just be right, but sextiles want you to push ahead to achieve what you want.

You may find that you also change your appearance, some put on weight as Jupiter contacts the Ascendant.  Some make changes to the way they present themselves.  Others become more confident and because of this, advance in life.  Some advance in their career especially if the Midheaven is activated in a positive manner.  Some purchase a home or move into a new residence, especially if the fourth house is involved.  Much will depend on the sign that your rising sign (ascendant) is in and the natal placement of your Jupiter and its aspects.

This placement of Jupiter is a positive alignment, and when in place opportunities are at hand but utilize these energies in order to advance with whatever your plans involve.  Sitting idle is a complete waste of these energy. In some cases, however, things just seem to fall in place on their own, especially if what you have been doing leading up to this have been tedious and it now seems as though things have settled down.
