Holm Astrology has been creating "Astrology" and "Food For Thought" posts for over 10 years.  Wix has taken over the Vista Print websites and as a result of the migration of our information, a large portion of our blog posts are currently lost.

We realize our Astrology posts are vital to our students.

If you do not find what you are looking for on this Blog page, please visit www.holmastrology.blogspot.com/ where you will find our missing blog posts.  There are over 2,660 posts pre September, 2023.

We apologize for the inconvenience but it is worth the jump over to our blogspot.

The Transit of Pluto square to its Natal positioning usually occurs around the late 30’s but can extend as far as to the age of 60.  Much will depend on the Natal positioning of Pluto in the birth chart and the placement of Pluto during its transit.

As a side note, transiting Neptune makes a Square to Natal Neptune into the early 40’s and Transiting Uranus makes an Opposition to its Natal position around the age of 41-43.  Finally, Chiron makes its return to its birth position between the age 49 to 51. With the understanding that all of these placements are extremely significant, no wonder this time in life is referred to as the mid-life crisis.

It is easy to get caught up in what is taking hold during this astrological aspect, but these are the times when the valuable lessons are in place, and we can learn a great deal. We come out stronger, more resilient, advanced in our understanding and ready to challenge life in a much more mature manner. Do not fear transiting Pluto square natal Pluto. Learn from this aspect. This too will pass, but you need to do the work. You will come out on the other side a better version of yourself and be able to guide others through some of life’s more tumultuous times because of your personal experience.
Transiting Pluto Square Natal Pluto

We have already discussed many of these placements in past articles, so we thought we would focus on the transit of Pluto squaring its Natal position.

Pluto’s action is usually quite intense, although it can make its way forward in a rather subtle manner in the early stages.  Over time, it certainly makes its presence known.  The energies are often attached to psychological matters and often forces us to look deep within at any of the so-called dark or hidden areas of our nature.  These areas are considered taboo, and we may not want to face them.  However, this is the time when we will confront our so-called demons, better still our inner fears.

This aspect is a time of deep self-analysis and transformation when we re-evaluate things, especially how we feel about our personal power (or lack thereof) and the control we think we have over life or the control that we think we lack in our life.  This is often a time of personal crisis, because we must be honest and face that which we may not want to!  How else will we conquer our fears and eliminate things that no longer serve us?

We must have a deep, honest, open look at what goes on within before we can make changes to those parts of us we allow to be on automatic pilot.  Letting go is of prime importance, as in many cases holding on is futile particularly to those things that stagnate us. Pluto sometimes demands action from us and if we do not act, it will force action onto us in a more dynamic or drastic manner.

The feeling of being at a standstill or even moving in reverse can be perplexing. We can get caught up in thinking we have regressed. We may even feel we are losing the “muscle memory” of things we have learned and this knowledge or ability has run its course and may never return.

Be patient. All valuable lessons include patience. These are not development delays; they are times to reflect. You will move ahead when you are ready and no sooner.
Developmental Delays

Perceived notions can hold us back and actually stop us in our tracks. We can allow our beliefs to hold us captive and stagnated.

Everything in life is subject to change. There are times when change is extreme and other times, when we are provided an opportunity to review and process. The latter tend to be the more quiet times in life, so quiet that we may feel stagnated.

What seems like a time of inactivity is actually a time afforded to you to review, process, plan, etc. You are not at a standstill. Be sure to take advantage of the time afforded to you. You will only advance when you are ready. Moving ahead too quickly, no matter how it feels or where you think you should be at this time, is not beneficial.

Insight comes in many different forms, at times through experience, through reflection and at other times through different unusual channels, some of which you may not even be aware of.

At times, we speak out of turn or say things that even before we finish the sentence, we wish we had not said.

Likely on some level, the words needed to be said. Perhaps, it was the best way, at least at that moment, to get your point across.  Often, when we leave things unsaid for an extended period, when we eventually convey our wishes or feelings, they are said in a less than desirable fashion.

Change what you can, speak up when necessary and then let go of the past. If the needed change does not come when you request it and it is essential, walk away. Remove yourself from the situation if there is no hope for change. Be proactive in what you can control, particularly reactions in the moment!
Reactions in the Moment

Whatever has been said cannot be unsaid, and you must accept the repercussions of your actions or words.  Clarifying or explaining ourselves is a good idea and an apology is essential.

We can’t change what has been said or done in the past so, if for example, our words were cutting due to holding on to unshared feelings, there is a valuable lesson in this event.  Do not let feelings or preferences go unsaid.  It is much better to deal with them in a calm and controlled situation than to express them in the heat of the moment and then regret your expression or actions.

Reactions in the moment happen occasionally to everyone.  If, however, your reactions are continually uncontrolled perhaps a deeper dive into why is warranted.  Be honest with yourself, accept responsibility for your actions and make the necessary changes where changes are required, so that the next time you are confronted with events or the urge to react, you can take control of your actions in the moment and deal with them in a meaningful and productive manner.
